Thank you for your purchase of a PA-SS4V Two Source, Four Pair Speaker
Selector Box with Volume Control. The PA-SS4V is a low-profile speaker
distribution system which features:
• An independent On/O switch for each zone of audio
• Impedance matching volume control for each audio zone
• The ability to select either of the two stereo speaker-level signals to 4
audio zones

The “+/-“ polarity connections for the inputs and outputs are clearly marked
on the rear panel and use spring loaded speaker terminals. Make sure that
the system and all source components are powered down before making any
connections.

1. With any and all amplifiers and sources turned o, connect the speaker
wire to the appropriate “+/-“ terminals of each speaker
2. Route the speaker wires from amplifier or receiver to the speaker selector.
The terminals on the speaker selector accepts up to 14 gauge wire
3. Strip ¼” insulation from the end of the speaker wire and slightly twist to
avoid fraying
4. Press to open the appropriate spring-loaded speaker selector terminal
(INPUT) and insert the striped end of the wire into the proper terminal.
Make sure the proper “+/-“ polarity is maintained when connecting the
speaker wires
5. Next, with your source amplifier powered o, strip ¼” insulation from the
end of the cable. Make sure the + and – terminals are correctly identified.
6. To connect the speakers to the PA-SS4V press to open the appropriate
spring-loaded terminal (OUTPUT) and insert the striped end of the wire
into the proper terminal. Make sure the proper “+/- polarity is maintained
when connecting the input wires
7. Once everything is connected, you can begin testing. Turn on the sound
system and set the amplifier’s volume control to a moderate level. If each
zone is turned on, check each zone for audio and balance. If you are
having multiple sources connected, test each zone’s source switching

1. Determine the amplifiers minimum impedance capabilities. This is found
in the amplifier’s specifications. Please refer to the manufacturer’s manual
for this information
2. Identify the correct impedance matching from the charts below based
on whether you are using 8 ohm or 4 ohm amplifiers. If your amplifier is 6
ohm stable, refer to the 8 ohm chart
3. Determine the total number of 4 ohm pairs of speakers and 8 ohm pairs of
speakers
4. Follow the chart to apply the correct setting
SAFETY AND NOTICE
The PA-SS4V has been tested for conformance to safety regulations and
requirements, and has been certified for international use. However, like all
electronic equipment, the PA-SS4V should be used with care. Please read and
follow the safety instructions to protect yourself from possible injury and to
minimize the risk of damage to the unit.
• Follow all instructions and warnings marked on this unit.
• Do not attempt to service this unit yourself, except where explained in this manual.
• Provide proper ventilation and air circulation and do not use near water.
• Keep objects that might damage the device and assure that the placement of this
unit is on a stable surface.
• Use only the power adapter and power cords and connection cables designed for
this unit.
• Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners to clean this unit.
• Always unplug the power to the device before cleaning
SETTING THE IMPEDANCE
The impedance in the speaker selector is set to the factory default position
of X4 which is proper for most applications. If certain applications require the
impedance setting to change, simply switch the position of the Impedance for
that specific zone or for all zones that require dierent impedance.

unit, since it will familiarize you with the capabilities of this product and its
proper installation. All active electronic products are 100% inspected and
tested to insure highest product quality and trouble-free installation and
operation. The testing process utilizes the types of high-definition sources and
displays typically installed for entertainment and home theatre applications.

LIMITED WARRANTY
With the exceptions noted in the next paragraph, Vanco warrants to the
original purchaser that the equipment it manufactures or sells will be free from
defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two years from the date
of purchase. Should this product, in Vanco’s opinion, prove defective within
this warranty period, Vanco, at its option, will repair or replace this product
without charge. Any defective parts replaced become the property of Vanco.
This warranty does not apply to those products which have been damaged
due to accident, unauthorized alterations, improper repair, modifications,
inadequate maintenance and care, or use in any manner for which the product
was not originally intended. Items integrated into Vanco products that are
made by other manufacturers, notably computer hard drives and liquid
crystal display panels, are limited to the term of the warranty oered by the
respective manufacturers. Such specific warranties are available upon request
to Vanco. A surge protector, power conditioner unit, or an uninterruptible
power supply must be installed in the electrical circuit to protect against
power surges. If repairs are needed during the warranty period the purchaser
will be required to provide a sales receipt/sales invoice or other acceptable
proof of purchase to the seller of this equipment. The seller will then contact
Vanco regarding warranty repair or replacement.

manufacturer of this product cannot be held liable for the use of this hardware
or any direct or indirect consequential damages arising from its use. It is
the responsibility of the user and installer of the hardware to check that it is
