Oracle and QLogic have created a best-of-class partnership designed to
support their customers’ competitive edge by delivering information fast
and enabling a SAN infrastructure that adapts quickly to changing demands.
Showcasing the partnership at Oracle’s Enterprise Technology Center (ETC)
in Atlanta, Georgia, Oracle provides new levels of business intelligence with
Oracle E- Business Suite, while QLogic provides the pathways for information
to flow through the organization—fast.
The Oracle E-Business Suite provides the most functionally-complete set of
business applications available today, using a single, unified data schema
and an out-of-the-box solution that adapts to the organization’s business
processes. The innovative approach of Oracle E-Business Suite eliminates
the need to build custom interfaces, improves integration, and offers
unprecedented scalability to handle growth. Because QLogic simplifies the
networking process with the industry’s only end-to-end storage area network
(SAN) infrastructure, the QLogic partnership with Oracle brings unprecedented
solutions to centralized systems management for global IT environments.
QLogic produces the controller chips, host bus adapters (HBAs), network
switches and management software that work together to move data from
the storage device through the fabric to the server. With more than 15 years of
enterprise storage experience, QLogic delivers fast data access for the most
demanding business intelligence solutions.
The power of Oracle E-Business Suite and the scalable architecture of QLogic
Fibre Channel HBAs and switches offer unbeatable performance. In fact,
QLogic runs its own business using Oracle E-Business Suite. The QLogic
proven storage network architecture and the leading E-Business Suite from
Oracle team up to deliver high availability of hardware resources and mission-
critical enterprise data that you can count on.
“Using QLogic, we realized new levels of performance and scalability. Our test
engineers put the entire E-Business Suite with Oracle 9i RAC cluster database
and Oracle 9iAS clustered application servers through rigorous testing with QLog-
ic—and QLogic delivered on its promise to support data integration requirements,
moving all the right information at lightning speed.”

CASE STUDY
Deliver Business Intelligence with Oracle and QLogic
Both Oracle and QLogic know that your enterprise data depends on
getting the right business intelligence to the decision-makers who
need it every day. At the Enterprise Technology Center in Atlanta,
Oracle and QLogic engineers create and test real-world scenarios
that put the E-Business Suite to task on a highavailability SAN solution
powered by QLogic SAN components.
Building on a winning combination of high port scalability and ease of
integration, engineers at the Enterprise Technology Center connected
the QLogic SANbox2-64 to an EMC Symmetrix storage solution. With
e-port compatibility between the SANbox2-64 and Symmetrix, the
Oracle E-Business Suite delivers its unified information architecture
faster than ever. Running Oracle 9i RAC and Oracle 9iAS with the
E-Business Suite across a 20-node Linux cluster, the QLogic
SANblade(TM) HBAs offer best-in-class performance and functionality
for demanding storage area networks, available in 2 Gb speeds. The
Oracle data schema stores information for all applications, ensuring
that everyone in the organization operates from the latest information,
each and every time.
Oracle 9i RAC allows multiple Linux machines to be clustered together
forming a single database, which is accessed by the E-Business Suite
application. This clustered database provides scalability and ensures
high availability of the database.
Oracle 9iAS allows multiple Linux servers to be clustered together
providing a highly-scalable and highly-available middle-tier
application environment.
Oracle E-Business Suite connects and automates the entire flow
of business processes across both front and back office operations,
streamlining the enterprise supply chain, from sales and marketing to
manufacturing, financials, and human resources.
QLogic SANblade Fibre Channel HBAs are the most widely-
deployed host adapter solutions for server, networking, storage, and
clustering solutions.
QLogic SANbox Series is the world’s broadest and most innovative
line of Fibre Channel switch products. The QLogic SANbox switches
offer all the benefits of both edge and Director technology in a highly-
scalable architecture.
With components like these in the Oracle-QLogic solution, availability
of enterprise business intelligence is always at its peak. QLogic and
Oracle set new standards for interoperability, data integration, and
enterprise-level performance.
