Overview
QGenie is an industry-leading mobile NAS solution for an increasingly mobile world. Within an
ultra-light, pocket-sized form factor QGenie packs the power and functionality to empower the
digital lifestyle needs of mobile users with seven key features including: mobile NAS, personal
cloud, power bank, internet sharing, portable SSD, phonebook backup and more.
QNAP is famous for providing network-attached storage (NAS) that allows users to create their
own private cloud environments, and with the new QGenie have introduced an innovate solution
to allow mobile users greater freedom in how they backup & share their files, access the internet
and keep their devices fully charged. Possessing a wide range of applications and functions,
QGenie can provide essential services for mobile users and can also be a great companion device
for QNAP Turbo NAS.
Appearances and Modes
Turn on QGenie into Wi-Fi Sharing mode:
Slide the power switch to the top, and the OLED screen will display “QGenie”and startup. Apps and PCs can access
QGenie when the progress bar disappears and is ready.
Turn on QGenie into Power Bank Mode:
Slide the power switch to the middle, and the OLED screen will show “Power Bank.”
Turn off QGenie:
Slide the power switch to the bottom, the OLED screen will switch off.

Hardware
Weighing just 122g/4.3oz and measuring 115 x 58.5 x 17.5mm/4.5 x 2.3 x 0.7 inches (height,
width, depth); the QGenie is the ideal size for mobile use and is easily carried in a pocket. The
3000 mAh battery and its power-saving functions provide 13 hours Wi-Fi sharing, 11 hours of
continuous MP3 streaming and 9 hours of continuous MP4 streaming.
The QGenie comes with a 600 MHz processor with 64MB RAM. There is 32GB internal SSD and a
SD card slot for expandability. It is charged via USB 3.0 and also features a 100Mb LAN port.

The QGenie comes equipped with a range of applications and functions that can make it an
integral part of a modern digital lifestyle, including:
Mobile NAS: Extend mobile device storage
QGenie allows users to flexibly extend their mobile devices’ storage space.
Users can easily back up photos, videos and other files to QGenie and make
room for apps, new photos & videos on their mobile devices.
Personal Cloud: Universal access to files
With its pocket-sized design, users can take QGenie anywhere and enjoy
their private media collections via the Qfile mobile app. If users also have a
QNAP Turbo NAS, all of the files on their QGenie can be automatically
synchronized once connected to a PC or Mac.
Phonebook Backup: Never lose important contacts
QGenie provides a hassle-free solution to back up and restore contacts on
Android and iOS devices. Users don't need to worry about losing important
contacts if their phone is lost or stolen and are also saved from the hassle of
manually entering the names and numbers of their friends into new phones.

Power Bank: Keep mobile devices powered up
With its 3000mAh power capacity, QGenie provides an ample power supply for
both itself and to act as a power bank to charge mobile devices with an
outstanding conversion rate of up to 90%. A fully-charged QGenie can
provide 1.2 times the battery capacity of an average smartphone and is
equipped with 7 circuit protection mechanisms to ensure the health of
connected devices. QGenie also supports serial charging, which allows users
to simultaneously charge QGenie and another mobile device with a single adaptor.
Wireless Access Point
QGenie can quickly share Internet access through wired or Wi-Fi
connections, smartphone hotspots or LTE/4G/3G dongles.

In-vehicle Media Server: Perfect for sharing media on
long trips
By allowing up to 8 simultaneous connections, QGenie is perfect for sharing
multimedia when traveling in a vehicle and allows streaming music from a
phone to a car stereo via Bluetooth. Users can also share files within a group
of friends, in a meeting or at a family reunion without the need of sending
emails, exchanging USB drives, or burning CDs.
Portable SSD via USB 3.0
When connected to a PC or Mac, QGenie automatically turns into a high-
performance portable SSD, providing extremely fast file transfer speeds of
up to 120MB/s readand 40MB/s writevia USB 3.0 and making QGenie
anideal mobile NAS both indoors & outdoors.
Detailed OLED Display
When using the QGenie, users can gain an instant overview of its network,
battery, system status and remaining storage space with the industry-first
OLED display.
Cross-platform file sharing
QGenie allows simple and easy file sharing for up to 20 devices including PCs, Macs, Android and
iOS devices via wireless LAN, and supports simultaneous file access by up to 8 devices.

Things to try during the evaluation:
Configure and access contents by Qfile
Qfile can automatically detect QGenie’s location so it is not required to setup an IP address after
connecting to QGenie’s wireless network. The account is “admin”, and the default password is
“admin.”In addition to accessing files, most configurations can be directly set up from Qfile,
providing a clear way to customize settings for QGenie. QGenie also supports guest mode, which
limits file access to the inserted SD card and USB devices. Guests also cannot alter system
settings.

Quickly make room for more photos and videos
With limited expandability on smartphones, users can be at the mercy of their storage capacity
when it comes to taking more photos and videos. Instead of taking time to choose what files to
delete, or searching for cables to transfer to a computer, or finding an internet hotspot to upload
to cloud services; users can just easily transfer older files to a QGenie and keep taking photos
and videos. With its integrated SD card slot, the QGenie can be especially useful for
photographers to backup and store photos to make room for additional shots.
Expand the space of mobile devices
It can be hard to save multiple HD videos and other high-quality media files on smartphones and
other mobile devices, but with 32GB of storage space and SD card expandability the QGenie can
act as a portable hard drive for expanding the space available to mobile devices.

Save internet costs with access sharing
If a user is traveling with multiple devices but has a limited Internet plan that can only serve one
device, they can share this connection easily with QGenie. In addition, if using QGenie with a
smartphone hotspot, it not only delivers stronger Internet signals but also charges smartphones
at the same time for worry-free usage.
Quickly transfer files from different file systems
QGenie currently supports FAT, NTFS, and exFAT, making file access from various devices easy
and convenient. Other file systems (including ext3, ext4, and HFS+) will be supported soon.
Integrate QGenie with Turbo NAS
Users can conveniently transfer files to and from a Turbo NAS (that uses QTS 4.1.1 or later) to
QGenie with the USB one-touch-copy function. All of the files on QGenie can be synchronized
automatically with a Turbo NAS once connected to a PC or Mac with Qsync enabled.

Installation & Package Contents
Before using QGenie, we recommend charging the battery for at least three hours. Please install
the Qfile app to make the full use of QGenie.
