2. Product Overview
This chapter provides basic information about the QNAP QGD-1600P switch.
About the QGD-1600P
The QGD-1600P is QNAP's first smart-edge network switch that comes with built-in storage capacity. The
switch features software-defined networking (SDN) to support multiple SMB applications, including NAS,
NVR, router, firewall, AP controller and surveillance. The QGD-1600P supports virtual machines (VMs) and
features 4-port 60-watt and 12-port 30-watt Gigabit power over Ethernet (PoE). The switch's dual-CPU
design offers Layer 2 management functions for VM and QTS applications.
