2. Product Overview
This chapter provides basic information about the QNAP device.
About the QGD-1600P and QGD-1602P
The QGD-1600P and QGD-1602P are QNAP's rst smart-edge network switches with built-in storage capacity.
The switches support virtual machines (VMs) and come with a dual-CPU design that oers Layer 2
management functions for VM and QTS applications.
The QGD-1600P is equipped with 4-port 60-watt and 12-port 30-watt Gigabit Power over Ethernet (PoE),
and features software-dened networking (SDN) to support multiple SMB applications, including NAS, NVR,
router, rewall, AP controller, and surveillance.
The QGD-1602P is equipped with 2.5 GbE and 10 GbE SFP+ ports with up to 90-watt Power over Ethernet
(PoE) output. The switch integrates QuWAN to form a SD-WAN architecture with other QNAP devices across
multiple sites, and fullls IP surveillance, network security, wireless AP management, and storage expansion
applications.
Both models can also be congured as ADRA devices for network detection and response. For details, see
the ADRA Device (Global Edition) User Guide.
