FERROMAGNETIC?
Simply stated, if a magnet is
attracted to the item, it is ferromagnetic.
For example, Steel and Iron are ferromagnetic,
and Aluminum is non (or anti) ferromagnetic.

IS YOUR DESK FOOT FERROMAGNETIC?
INSTALL UPPER STRIKER PLATE (ANCHOR
LOCATION FOR UPPER MAGNETIC BRACKET)
Place a mark on the underside of the desk directly
in-line with the Lower Anchor Location (from Step )
approximately 7” (18cm) away (can be up to 12” if needed).
Ensure that that the location has a minimum 3” x 3” flat
surface area. Fasten the Striker Plate on the marked location
according to the Desktop Material Type as shown.

Fasten the provided extra
Double-Sided Tape Square to
the back of the Upper Striker
Plate . Attach the Upper
Striker Plate using the
Double-Sided Tape to a clean,
dry surface at the marked
location on the underside of the
Desk/Table.

can attach directly to the under-
side of the desk, here. No
Upper Striker Plate is
required. Move to the next step.

Attach the Upper Striker Plate with
4 Screws at the marked location
on the underside surface of the
Desk/Table. Ensure that the screws
are shorter than the thickness of
the desk.

OPEN ALL CHAIN LATCHES
Make sure all of the Latches on the PivyCord Chain are open. To open a latch, insert
the tip of a small Flathead Screwdriver into the slot underneath the Latch on the side
with the open icon. Push downward on the handle to pop the latch open.
CAUTION: When handling the PivyCord Chain, be careful to avoid the pinch-points on the back side
of the chain that can pinch fingers and skin. Keep away from Children.

SNAP THE UPPER AND LOWER MAGNET BRACKETS OF THE PIVY
CHAIN IN PLACE
Confirm the correct UP/DOWN orientation of the Pivy Chain with the
“THIS SIDE UP” and “THIS SIDE DOWN” markings. Snap the Upper Magnet Bracket of
the Chain in place on the Upper Striker Plate then snap the Lower Magnet in place on
the Desk Foot.

Depending on your setup, some cables will be
easier to pull up from the bottom and others will be
easier to feed down from the top.

SECURE ALL CABLES ON THE DESKTOP AND UNDERSIDE OF THE DESK
Connect all cables to your desktop equipment. Use the CleverCord® Mounted Cable Ties and
CleverCord® Cable Wrap Ties to route and secure the cable bundles to your desktop and to the
underside of your desk. If you will be using a Quality Clever Cable Tray (sold separately) on the underside of
your desk, install it now as well.
CAUTION: The CleverCord Mounted Cable Tie adhesive is permanent, and can pull off paint or furniture
finish when removed.

CLOSE THE PIVY CHAIN LATCHES
Swing open all of the latches on the Pivy Chain and push all cables into the raceway opening, pulling any slack downward. Working from top to bottom,
close all chain latches by pressing down with your thumbs on the center of each latch until you feel a click.

SECURE CABLES AT THE BASE, TEST THE FULL
RANGE OF MOTION
Secure your cables at the bottom of the Pivy Chain, at the
Desk Foot and on the floor using the CleverCord Mounted Cable
Ties and CleverCord Cable Wrap Ties as needed. Move
the Desk/Table down and up to test over the full range of motion to
ensure that the mechanism and all of your desk components move
smoothly, without any interference, binding, snagging or pinching.
CAUTION: The CleverCord Mounted Cable Tie adhesive is
permanent, and can pull off paint or furniture finish when removed.

ADDING, REMOVING OR MOVING CABLES
Pop open all of the Pivy Chain Latches (Step ), release
any cable management ties as needed. Add, remove, and move
cables as desired, then repeat Steps through .
