Prime the Cooling System.
CAUTION: DO NOT power on the system
unless the coolant is filled and the pump is
primed or pump damage will result.
• Remove the drain tube from its storage location
on the ICE rear panel. Connect it between the
ICE rear panel ports to form a loop.
• Remove the cap and fill the reservoir with the
approved coolant.

Prime the Coolant Pump.
Press the green Pump Cntrl button located on the
ICE rear panel to operate the pump and circulate the
coolant for about 2 seconds. Listen for the sound of
the pump operating smoothly. Press and hold the
Pump Cntrl button to circulate coolant for several
seconds if and only if pump operation is smooth.
CAUTION: Do not operate the pump if it is making a
“buzzing” or “clattering” sound. This indicates no
coolant in the pump. If this happens, tip the ICE
toward the rear panel to lower the coolant loop
before testing coolant circulation again.
Press Pump Cntrl briefly
to test coolant circulation
5Connect the Laser Head.
CAUTION: Turn the Key Switch OFF.
Turn the AC Mains power switch OFF.
• Simultaneously disconnect both ends of the drain
tube from the ICE rear panel.
• Connect the I/O cable between the ICE and the
Laser Head. Rotate the connector to fully tighten it.
• Connect the 2 coolant tubes between the Laser
Head and the ICE. Match the connectors: blue to

Circulate Coolant to Laser Head.
• Refill the coolant to reach the MAX line on the
coolant level window.
• Turn the ICE AC Mains power switch ON.
• Turn the Key Switch ON.
• The pump starts automatically and fills the
coolant lines which lowers the fluid level. Add
additional coolant as needed to refill the reservoir
to the MAX line.
• A float switch shuts off the pump when the fluid
level is too low. Press and hold the pump control
switch to continue operating the pump during filling.
• Cycle the power by turning the AC Mains switch
off and on several times to remove air bubbles
from the Laser Head.
• Add more coolant as needed to fill the reservoir to
the MAX line.
CAUTION: Do not overfill past the MAX line.
Coolant needs room to expand as system
warms up.
Purge the Laser Head Cavity
CAUTION: Ensure any air trapped inside the
Laser Head cavity is removed or damage to
the Laser Head will result.
• To remove trapped air from the cavity and coolant
tubes, tilt the Laser Head vertically while the pump
is circulating the coolant for 10 seconds.
• Turn the Key Switch off and then on again to
“cycle” (shut off and then operate) the pump.
• Examine the coolant tubes for air bubbles.
• Continue to tilt the Laser Head during pump
cycling until no air bubbles remain (about 2
minutes).
• When no more air bubbles are present, the Laser
Head is ready to be attached to your mounting
surface.
