Please note: The A015-RX is compable with AIS receivers only.
It is not designed for use with AIS transponders/transceivers. For AIS transponders/Transceivers
you would require the A015-TX
QK-A015-RX
INTRODUCTION
The QK-A015-RX splier allows one VHF antenna to be shared between,
1. VHF radio
2. AIS receiver and
3. AM/FM radio
The A015-RX allows the one VHF antenna to provide the following funcons:
• Recepon of VHF radio, AIS messages and AM/FM radio.
• Transmission from VHF radio.
• Straight forward connecon to all relevant devices, with no conguraon required.
The A015-RX is an acve splier. This is important, as unlike many spliers that cause signal loss,
the acve spliers actually provide a signal gain. The A015-RX’s built-in pre-amplier amplies
the AIS, VHF, AM/FM signals, thereby increasing the AIS receiver range.
INSTALLATION
The A015-RX has ve connecons:
• Power cable: connect to 12V-24V DC power and GND
• VHF Antenna: SO239 connector for VHF antenna
• VHF radio: SO239 connector for VHF radio
• AIS: BNC connector for the output of the AIS signal
• AM/FM: BNC connector for the output of the FM/AM radio signal
The A015-RX is a plug and play device. No Conguraon required.
Connect the VHF antenna before connecng other devices!
Connecng powered devices to a Splier without rst connecng the VHF antenna will damage
your devices.
1. Remove power source from all devices that will be connected.
2. Connect the VHF antenna to Splier before adding any devices.
3. Aer the VHF antenna is connected, connect the VHF radio, AIS receiver and FM/AM radio to
the A015-RX Splier.
4. Re-power all devices.
5. Test, checking status LEDs light up when expected.
STATUS LEDS
The A015-RX has three LEDs that indicate power and the Splier’s status.
*VHF fail-safe funcon - VHF radio has full priority and will remain funconal, even in the
unlikely case that the Splier would lose power or fail.
