The iStart is a versatile Portable Power Pack and 12 Volt DC power source that
can also be used with a DC to AC Inverter (not included) to provide 110 - 120
volt power to run small AC equipment and appliances.
Please read all operating instructions thoroughly before using.
To ensure maximum battery life, always charge your iStart at least every 30
days and after each use. Extreme fluctuations of either hot or cold outside
temperatures may require charging more often.
CAUTION: Read and Follow All Safety Rules and Operating Instructions Before Using
This Product.
PLEASE CHARGE YOUR iSTART PORTABLE POWER PACK IMMEDIATELY UPON REMOVING FROM THE
CARTON FOR AT LEAST 24 HOURS.
CAUTION

Battery Care
Use as a DC Power Source (12 Volt Accessories)
The iStart has a powerful compact sealed lead acid battery. When it is
fully charged, it has the ability to start multiple vehicles with a 3 to 5
minute wait between each use. Extreme hot or cold temperatures will
vary the performance. The unit will operate; however, the power output
will be lessened.
DO NOT store the iStart in your vehicle during periods of extreme
hot or cold temperatures; this may diminish the ability of the unit
to operate properly or cause it to not operate at all. For optimum
performance always store at room temperature and recharge every 30
days and after each use.
For 12 volt DC accessories equipped with a male DC cigarette lighter
type plug, simply plug the male plug into the female receptacle on the
unit. The 12 volt female receptacle is identified with the words “12
volt DC” on the receptacle cover.
You may operate all 12 volt accessories equipped with a male cigarette
lighter type plug. These include cell phones, laptop computers, radios,
TV’s, camcorders, spotlights, electric tools, air compressors, vacuums,
etc.

Performance Guidelines & Precautions

1. Attach a two prong receptacle extension cord to the male end of
the unit.
2. Plug the extension cord into a 110/120 volt AC wall outlet.
3. The RED charging LED with glow when extension cord is plugged
into the wall and will remain ON during the charging process.
4. Turn the LIGHT/OFF/TEST switch to the TEST position to determine
the battery charge level at any time. The RED LED indicates a
battery level of 75% or less charge level and the unit must be
recharged. The YELLOW LED indicates a 75% to 95% charge
level, but the iStart still needs to be recharged. The GREEN
LED indicates a 95% to Full Charge.
5. Once the unit is charged, unplug the unit from the 110/120
volt AC wall outlet.
6. Turn LIGHT/OFF/TEST switch to the off position.
For best results when using your iStart as a Portable Power Pack, please
note the following:
1. Clean the battery terminals of the vehicle battery before
connecting the clamps to the vehicle. Use a battery post cleaner
brush to remove corrosion from the battery posts.
Solutions 510420 & 510430 will neutralize the gray/white
corrosive material (see www.quickcable.com for more information).
2. Make sure your connections are solid before attempting to start
the vehicle, twist or rock the clamps slightly until you can feel
a tight connection.
To maximize unit life, always protect the unit from direct sunlight,
moisture and heat sources. This unit is designed to be used only with
vehicles with 12 volt systems. This unit is not designed to be used as a
replacement for a vehicle battery.
GREEN - 95% to full charge
YELLOW - 75% to 95% charge
