1. Introduction
Thismanualdescribes the TX500SS, a radio transmitter forfrequency modulation
audiobroadcasting.
TheTX500SSisamodulardevice,builtupofcomponentsassembledina19”rack,
completewithelectricalandRFwiring.
Thismanualshallbereadtogetherwiththemanualsofthedifferentcomponents,that
areattached herewith.
Detailsaboutwarranty,safety,workingpriciplesandtechnicalspecificationsaregiven
inthe single manuals.
2. Configurations
2.1 General
Theessentialcomponentsof the TX500SS are:
•1 PTX30LCD/s Exciter;
•1 PJ500M LCD Amplifier.
Different configurations of the transmitter are available. The costumer will choose
theonethatbestfits his need in terms, e.g. ofredudancyortelecontrol capabilities.
Thischapterdescribes the different configurations theTX500SS can have. Please
notethattransmitterslayoutsgivenhereinarereferenceones;theheightoftheracks
and the disposition of the modules may vary and will be specified at the time of
placing the order. The model names of the different transmitters refer to the
componentsincluded.

2.2 TX500SSRD/RDS
This version is the most complete version of the TX500SS. With respect to the
“essential”components, it features:
•Doubleexciters (2 PTX30LCD/s);
•Double RDS encoders (2 TRDS4001);
•Automaticchange-overunit(SCM1+1LCD);
•Telemetryunit(TLC300).
Ofcourse,it also includes the PJ500M-CRF amplifier.
