Important:
The control panel is designed only for operating together with the electrofisher.Itisnotallowedto
connect it to the electric grid. If done so, there is a threat of electric current injury (ČSN 33 2000-4-
41).
A: FISHING IN RUNNING WATER - gear is located on the shore
1. Connect the control panel with the electric generator by putting cable’s plug into a socket of electric
generator output.
2. Complete the fishing equipment. Connect anode (cable and cable drum, fishing handle, extension,
electric landing net) to the red-labelled + socket. Connect cathode (1.5 –2 m long flat copper net) to the -
socket.
3. Start the electric generator according to its own manual, switch on the breaker on the generator output
(next to sockets).
4. Switch on the main switch of control panel 160NB.
5. Change the power scale according to fishing conditions. Switch position I is forconductivitygreater than
250 µS. The output voltage in this position is 325V. Position II with output voltage 650V is for extremely
clean, therefore low conductivitywater. This position is to be used above all in mountain brooks with stony
or rocky beds. It is not recommended to use the II position for valley rivers or for fishponds with high
conductivities. It is not considerate towards living organisms and also the gear might get overloaded and
cause the fuse outage.
6. The gear is also equipped with the power control switch. This switch can be used to vary the output
pulse length by four levels. This way, the “delivered energy” of one pulse can be varied.
In practice (especially when it is not possible to measure the conductivity of the fishing environment) the
power scale switch is first set to position I or II. Afterwards the ammeter is used to measure the output
current and the power control switch is used to control the output current and therefore the fishing
efficiency. By combining those two settings a vast scale of fishing environment can be covered.
7. The gear has also a “modulation” switch. For better galvanotaxis and for selective effect on different fish
type and size, the basic frequency (set by potentiometer and measured by the frequency meter) is
combined with lower frequencies. The frequencyis digitallyderived from the basic frequencyand its value
is 1/16, 1/8, 3/16 and 1/4 of the basic frequency. By proper choice of voltage, power control, basic
frequency and its modulation, it is possible to achieve outstanding selection of fishing effects. In general, it
is recommended to use lower voltage for bigger fish, also lower basic frequency and lower modulation
frequency (1/16).
8. Test the device function by putting both electrodes into the water (at least 3m from each other, mutual
contact is prohibited) and press the fishing handle button. From the movement of ammeter indicator, it is
possible to learn whether the gear is working.
Generally said, in the low conductivity water the ammeter shows lower current and vice versa.
9. When fishing in running water, always move upstream only.
10. After finishing the fishing, switch off the main switch of the control panel first, then turn off the
generator. Always roll-up the cable only when the gear is not working.
B: FISHING IN STANDING WATER - gear is located on the boat
Use the above mentioned points 1-8 of fishing in running water. The cable and cable drum are replaced
with a short cable (5m) with PK27 plug. The cable can be delivered with the equipment. When fishing in
higher conductivity waters, it is necessary to replace the default cathode (1.5 m long copper net) with
shorter one (0.5 m long copper net).
9.
Fishing boat should not be made of metal but of non-conductive material such as wood or laminate. It
should also be sufficient in stability and capacity.
10. Cathode always has to be positioned in order to avoid the contact of the operator with its active part
(flat copper net). In the case of motor boat, winding of the cathode onto the propeller must be avoided.Itis
recommended to fasten the active part of cathode onto the polystyrene; this way the cathode flows on the
water and cannot get stuck.
11. The fisher with anode (electric landing net) is always on the stem of the boat and should have a helper
who can collect fish using a landing net: its handle must be from a non-conductive material.
12. When fishing in standing water the gear is effective to the water depth of about 1.5-2m. It is necessary
to realize that it is not a depth gear but equipment designed especially for running water.
