from ratiotec. You made a good choice in selec-
ting this quality product. The RS 1000 money
scale counts banknotes and coins. The RS 1200
additionally counts coin rolls, quickly and accu-

cashing-up in less than one minute.

Keys and their functions

Some functions of the money scale can only be carried out by combining several keys. For further
information, please read the following chapters:
Calibrate money scale
The money scale must be calibrated after its delivery, when being reset to the factory settings, and
after any change in the location where counting is carried out.
In order to do so, proceed as follows:
First use
The text CALIBRATE SCALE appears on the dis-
play. Insert the cup support and start the pro-
cedure by pressing the OK button. The message
ZERO appears on the display to indicate that
nothing has to be on the scale.
A message appears asking you to add the 500 g
reference weight. After placing the weight on the
cup support, you can start the calibration using
the OK button. As soon as the procedure has
been completed, SCALE READY will appear on the
display, followed by a signal tone. The scale turns
off automatically, please remove the 500 g refe-
rence weight and turn on the scale by pressing
the Clear button to start the counting procedure.
The money scale is now calibrated for the current
location.
Subsequent calibration
In the SETUP-menu, choose the option FCTRY
SET. Press the OK button for approx. 3 seconds to
change to calibration mode.

Operation
Count coins in the coin cup
Count coins in cups
The provided cup is used to weigh coins. Fill the
weighing cup with the coin denomination shown
on the display and place the coin cup on the mo-
ney scale. After a short time, a signal tone will
arise and the result will be shown on the display.
After removing the counted coins from the sca-
le, the sum is automatically added to the total
amount. Subsequently, the scale displays auto-
matically the next higher denomination. If the
Auto Cont function is inactive, the next higher or
lower coin denomination can be selected using
the < or > button.
If all your cups have the same weight, you can
place the filled cups directly on the scale. A prior
calibration of the cups is required before using
your own cups. (Please proceed as described in:
SETUP-menu, CLB CUP). Subsequently, place the
filled cups directly on the cup support.
Tip: If your special cups do not have the same
weight, it is possible to calibrate their different
weight using the additional software. The money
scale can be additionally set up, amongst others,
for other currencies.
Caution:
The money scale can only be used correctly if it is placed on a flat surface and it is calibrated before
first use. Use the money scale with the included main plug or with batteries/rechargeable batteries.
All items must be removed from the cup support before every use. To switch on the money scale, press
the Clear button. The standard counting mode will appear.
Note:
All confirmed settings will be saved after switching off the device. The counting procedure always starts
with the lowest denomination of the selected currency. This is signalized with the coin symbol on the
display. The value of the money denomination being weighed appears in the Unit/Reference field.
Please only place the coin or banknote denomination that appears on the display!

Count coin rolls (only RS 1200)
The function to count coin rolls can be activated
or inactivated in the SETUP-menu. If this function
is activated, the coin roll symbol is shown on the
display after the last coin denomination. The mo-
ney scale identifies each coin roll automatically.
Please only place one coin roll per step. Wait until
the scale weighs the placed coin roll, before pla-
cing a new one. Coin rolls can be placed in any
desired sequence.
After the weighing procedure, remove all placed
coin rolls within one step.
Important Note:
The function to count coin rolls is only usable for
Euros. The coin roll paper has to be the standard
paper used by Banks. The money scale identifies
each roll automatically by comparing the placed
coin roll with a saved reference weight. If you
place a coin roll that does not match with one of
the reference weight, the message SUSPECT CHK
ROLL will appear on the display. To correct the er-
ror, remove only the last coin roll, not all! If you
remove more than one roll (not all of them) the
error message ERROR will appear on the display.
If this happens, remove all coin rolls and restart
the counting procedure.
The money scale cannot indicate if the coin rolls
are incomplete or if there are counterfeit coins in
the coin roll.

Display of results
The result of the counted banknotes and coins is displayed in Amount/Sum. To see the individual coun-
ting result, press the INFO button. To visualize the type, quantity and total of each amount placed on
the scale, press < or >.
Printing the results
To print the result of the cashing up, connect the money scale to a receipt printer. In the normal counting
mode, press +. The message PRINTING will appear.
Note: Receipt printer and printer cable are also available at ratiotec.
Delete the complete counting process
The complete counting procedure can be deleted by pressing Clear.
Delete of single results (only RS 1200)
Single results of the counting process can be deleted in the information overview. In order to do so,
press INFO once. Select the desired denomination by pressing < or >. The sum of the selected denomi-
nation can be deleted by pressing Clear.
Settings
Count banknotes
Banknotes must be placed directly on the cup
support. To do this, you must initially remove the
coin cup from the cup support. Select the bank-
note type to be counted using the arrow keys <
and > .The display shows the banknote symbol
and the value to be counted appears in the Unit/
Reference field. Place the banknotes in small
stacks of maximal 10 to 15 items. The money scale
adds each additional stack of banknotes and in-
dicates each successful counting procedure with
a tone. When all banknotes have been placed on
the scale, the result of the banknotes is automati-
cally added to the total amount.
Note: If too many notes are placed on the scale
at the same time, the message OVERLOAD will
appear. Some banknotes must be removed from
the cup support and the counting process can be
continued. The error message will also appear if
the coin cup is still on the cup support.
All functions can be activated or inactivated in the SETUP menu.

SETUP menu
Select the SETUP menu by pressing the < and > keys simultaneously.
To select the desired function, press < or >, and confirm this by pressing OK. Press Clear for several
seconds to quit the SETUP menu.
AUTO ADD: This function is activated by factory. The last total is automatically added into a total sum
after removing the amount from the scale.
If this function is activated, Auto Add will appear on the display.
AUTO CONT: This function is activated by factory. The function permits an automatic run of all deno-
minations (from the lowest to the highest). If this function is activated, Auto Cont will appear on the
display.
COIN ROLL:
If the function is activated, the scale switches -af-
ter counting all coin types- to the coin roll mode.
The coin roll symbol will be shown on the display.
Important Note:
Please only place one coin roll per step. The se-
cond roll can be placed only if the last one was
correctly identified.
CURRENCY:
Used to select the desired currency. The RS mo-
ney scale counts Euros, pound sterling and Swiss
francs as factory settings. The chosen currency
will be shown on the display.
Tip: The optional software allows you to count
other currencies.
CLB CUP:
Used to calibrate the coin cup and other cups. Place the cup on the cup support and start the process by
pressing OK. Wait for the signal tone. The calibration procedure must be completed with OK.
FCTRY SET:
Reset all saved settings, including calibration of the coin cup. To reset to factory settings, press OK for
several seconds. The procedure is signalized with three tones.
Note:
After resetting the device to factory settings, the money scale has to be calibrated.

Activate the Float function
The Float Function is also located in the SETUP
menu and can be activated like the functions de-
scribed above. Float will appear on the display.
Use < or > to adjust the exact Float amount. Save
the desired amount by pressing OK.
To activate or inactivate the Float function after
setting the Float amount, press INFO for several
seconds (in the SETUP menu).
Note: To allocate the float total with the total
amount, press INFO for several seconds in the
normal counting mode. If the value is included in
the result, an arrow will be displayed next to the
word Float. Inactivate this function by pressing
INFO for several seconds.
Result without Float Result with Float
Carry out the Float function
If the Float Function is activated, the counting process starts with a negative value, which is the float
total previously chosen. The weighed coins and banknotes are added to the negative start value. The
money scale signalizes with a signal tone that the total reaches or exceeds a zero value.
Important Note:
If the Float function is activated, the functions Free weighing and Reference weighing are not available.
Please read the following information for further functions:
Float function (only RS 1200)
After a cashing-up, a fixed sum is often left in the till as a float for the next day. This amount is inclu-
ded in the counting process, but it must be subtracted from the total sum. The Float sum is displayed
separately.

Special functions
1) Free Weighing function
In addition to counting banknotes and coins, the money scale can also be used to weigh letters.
Activate the Free Weighing function
Press INFO for several seconds in the standard counting mode and the scale will change to Free
Weighing mode.
A g appears on the display and the scale shows the weight of the object placed on it. To return to the
standard counting mode, press INFO for several seconds.
To reset the scale to 0,00g, press Clear in the free weighing mode.
Note:
In order to activate the Free Weighing function, the following must be inactivated in the SETUP menu:
Reference weighing and Float. The maximum weight allowed on the scale is 1kg.
2) Reference Weighing function
Use the Reference Weighing mode if you do not
want to weigh the absolute weight of objects, but
determine their number instead. A previously sa-
ved REFERENCE is used to determine the number.
Activate the Reference Weighing function
First select Reference in the SETUP menu item
and confirm it with OK. Place 20 items of the ob-
jects to be counted directly to the cup support. A
signal tone will denote the confirmation of a suc-
cessful counting procedure. The new reference
weight is saved by pressing the OK button.
Carry out the Reference Weighing function
The Reference Weighing mode is available if you
press INFO for several seconds.
The total weight, the number and the reference
mass of the selected item is displayed. Quit the
Reference Weighing mode by pressing INFO for
several seconds.
Important note:
If the Reference Weighing function is activated, the functions Free weighing and Float are not available.
If two special functions are setup, activate the function that was lastly saved by pressing INFO.

Error messages
The RS money scale counts your cash accurate and trustworthy. However, error messages may occur
for various reasons.
The error messages, as well as the procedure to rectify them, are detailed below:
Error Code Cause Procedure
OVERLOAD
A weight of more than 1kg was
placed on the money scale.
Remove the complete weight from the
money scale and restart the weighing
procedure using a smaller amount.
Too many banknotes were at once
placed on the scale during the bank-
note counting procedure.
Remove some of the bank notes and
continue the weighing process. Never
place more than 15 banknotes on the
scale at once (to start the process).
The coin cup is on the scale and you
want to count banknotes.
The coin cup is not required to weigh
banknotes. Remove it from the cup
support and start the banknote
weighing procedure.
ERROR
A button was pressed during the
weighing procedure.
The weighing procedure was can-
celled. Remove all the weight from the
cup support and restart the weighing
procedure.
More than 1 kg. was placed on the
scale.
Remove the complete weight from
scale.
More than one coin roll was removed
within one step (in the coin roll opti-
on).The scale cannot identify the re-
moved coin rolls.
Remove all coin rolls from the cup
support and restart the counting pro-
cedure.
SUSPECT CHK ROLL
The money scale cannot identify the
coin roll, it is either incomplete, it
has more coins than it should have
or there is a wrong coin inside.
Remove the coin roll that was lastly
placed in the scale and check if it is
correct.
VIBRATION
The scale is switched on, and shows
this message instead of the standard
weighing mode.
Place the money scale on a flat surface
and revise that no external parts affect
the position of the cup support.

Caution:
The RS money scale only counts sorted stacks of banknotes and coins and is not able to diffe-
rentiate between different currencies. Furthermore, it cannot be used to determine if money is
genuine.
The scale is a highly accurate measuring device, which can also weigh objects up to 1kg. However,
if this weight is exceeded, the message OVERLOAD will appear on the display and a signal tone
will arise.

können Münzen und Banknoten, mit der RS 1200
zusätzlich auch Münzrollen, schnell und exakt ge-

Einige Funktionen der Geldwaage lassen sich nur durch die Kombination mehrerer Tasten durchfüh-
ren. Näheres zu diesen Menüs erfahren sie in den folgenden Kapiteln.
Kalibrierung der Geldwaage
Bei Inbetriebnahme, Zurücksetzen auf die Werkseinstellungen sowie Änderung des Standortes, an
dem der Zählvorgang vorgenommen wird, muss die Geldwaage kalibriert werden.
Dazu geht man wie folgt vor:
Erstnutzung
Der Text CALIBRATE SCALE erscheint im Display.
Setzen Sie den Wiegeteller ein und starten Sie
den Vorgang, indem Sie die Taste OK drücken. Die
Geldwaage weist Sie mit ZERO darauf hin, dass
Sie alle Gegenstände vom Wiegeteller entfernen
müssen. Es erscheint eine weitere Meldung, die
Sie auffordert das Referenzgewicht von 500 g
aufzulegen. Nachdem Sie das Gewicht auf dem
Wiegeteller abgelegt haben, starten Sie mit der
Taste OK die Kalibrierung. Sobald der Vorgang ab-
geschlossen ist, erscheint im Display SCALE REA-
DY, gefolgt von einem Signalton. Die Geldwaage
schaltet sich automatisch aus. Entnehmen Sie
das Referenzgewicht und schalten Sie die Geld-
waage ein, um den Zählvorgang zu starten.
Die Geldwaage ist nun für den aktuellen Standort
geeicht.
Spätere Kalibrierung
Wählen Sie im SETUP-Menü den Punkt FCTRY
SET aus. Halten Sie die Taste OK für längere Zeit
gedrückt, um in den Kalibrierungsmodus zu ge-
langen.

Bedienung
Münzen im Münzbecher zählen
Münzen in Kassencups zählen
Zum Zählen von Münzen wird in der Regel der
beigefügte Münzbecher verwendet. Füllen Sie die
im Display angezeigte Münzsorte in den Wiege-
becher und stellen Sie diesen auf die Geldwaa-
ge. Nach kurzer Zeit ertönt ein Signalton, das
Messergebnis wird im Display angezeigt. Das Er-
gebnis wird automatisch zur Gesamtsumme ad-
diert, nachdem der Münzbecher entfernt wurde.
Anschließend springt die Waage selbständig zur
nächst höheren Münzsorte weiter. Ist diese Funk-
tion ausgeschaltet, kann mit den Tasten < und >
die nächst höhere bzw. niedrigere Münzsorte
ausgewählt und der Zählvorgang fortgesetzt wer-
den.
Sind die Cups Ihrer Kasse alle gleich schwer,
können Sie Ihre Münzen direkt in diesen Cups
zählen. Stellen Sie die Waage zunächst auf das
Gewicht Ihrer Kassencups ein. (Siehe hierzu: Ein-
stellungen SETUP-Menü CLB CUP). Anschließend
können Sie die Cups mit den zu zählenden Mün-
zen direkt auf den Wiegeteller stellen.
Tipp: Sind Ihre Cups unterschiedlich schwer,
können Sie mit der optional erhältlichen Soft-
ware auch verschiedene Gewichte speichern. Die
Software bietet Ihnen darüber hinaus weitere
Vorteile, u. a. das Einstellen jeder beliebigen
Währung.
Achtung:
Der einwandfreie Betrieb der RS Geldwaage ist nur gegeben, wenn die Waage auf einer ebenen Fläche
steht und vor dem ersten Wiegevorgang kalibriert wurde. Die Geldwaage kann mit dem zugehörigen
Netzstecker oder mit Batterien/Akkus betrieben werden.
Entfernen Sie vor jedem Einschalten der Geldwaage alle Gegenstände vom Wiegeteller und betätigen
Sie die Taste Clear. Es erscheint der normale Zählmodus.
Hinweis:
Alle Einstellungen bleiben nach dem Ausschalten erhalten. Der Zählvorgang beginnt immer mit dem
kleinsten Wert der ausgewählten Währung. Signalisiert wird dies durch das Münzsymbol im Display. Im
Feld Unit/Reference erscheint der Wert der zu wiegenden Geldsorte.
Legen Sie immer nur die Münz-/Banknotensorte auf, die im Display angezeigt wird!

Münzrollen zählen (nur RS 1200)
Die Funktion zum Zählen von Münzrollen kann
je nach Bedarf im SETUP-Menü ein- bzw. aus-
geschaltet werden. Ist sie aktiv, erscheint nach
der letzten Münzsorte das Münzrollensymbol im
Display. Die Geldwaage erkennt jede aufgelegte
Münzrolle automatisch. Legen Sie immer nur eine
Münzrolle auf den Wiegeteller. Warten Sie bis die
Geldwaage die zuletzt aufgelegte Rolle gewogen
hat, bevor Sie die nächste auflegen. Sie können
die Münzrollen in beliebiger Reihenfolge aufle-
gen. Entnehmen Sie nach dem Zählvorgang alle
aufgelegten Rollen auf einmal.
Wichtiger Hinweis:
Die Funktion Münzrollen wiegen, ist nur für Euro
Münzen mit Münzrollenpapier der Banken an-
wendbar. Die Geldwaage erkennt die verschie-
denen Münzrollen automatisch. Dazu vergleicht
sie abgespeicherte Referenzgewichte mit dem
Gewicht des aufgelegten Gegenstandes. Legen
Sie eine Münzrolle auf, die keinem der Refe-
renzwerte entspricht, erscheint die Meldung
SUSPECT CHK ROLL. Entnehmen Sie zur Korrektur
jeweils nur diese eine Rolle. Entfernen Sie mehr
als eine Rolle, jedoch nicht alle, erscheint die Feh-
lermeldung ERROR. Nehmen Sie alle Münzrollen
vom Wiegeteller und starten Sie den Zählvorgang
erneut. Die RS Geldwaage kann Ihnen nicht an-
zeigen, ob sich zu viele, zu wenige oder falsche
Münzen in einer Rolle befinden.

Ergebnisse anzeigen
Sind alle Münzen und Banknoten zusammengezählt, zeigt die Geldwaage diese unter Amount/Sum im
Display an. Für eine Anzeige der einzelnen Zählergebnisse, drücken Sie die Taste INFO. Durch Drücken
der Tasten < oder > können Sie sich für jede Sorte, die Anzahl und Summe einzeln anzeigen lassen.
Ergebnisse drucken
Sie können zu jedem Zeitpunkt des Zählvorganges Belege ausdrucken. Schließen Sie den Belegdrucker
an die Geldwaage an und drücken Sie im normalen Zählmodus die Taste +. Im Display erscheint PRIN-
TING, der Druckvorgang beginnt.
Hinweis: Belegdrucker und Druckerkabel sind bei ratiotec erhältlich.
Zählvorgang löschen
Der gesamte Zählvorgang wird durch Betätigen der Taste Clear gelöscht.
Einzelergebnisse löschen (nur RS 1200)
Einzelne Ergebnisse können in der Infoansicht gelöscht werden. Drücken Sie hierfür zunächst die Taste
INFO. Mit den Tasten < oder > wird die zu löschende Sorte ausgewählt. Der Wert der ausgewählten Sorte
wird durch Drücken der Taste Clear gelöscht.
Einstellungen
Banknoten zählen
Banknoten werden zum Zählen direkt auf den
Wiegeteller gelegt. Im Display wird das Bankno-
tensymbol angezeigt und im Feld Unit/Reference
erscheint die zu zählende Sorte. Legen Sie die
Banknoten in kleinen Stückelungen von 10 bis
maximal 15 Stück auf. Die Geldwaage addiert je-
den dazugelegten Banknotenstapel und signali-
siert den erfolgreichen Zwischenschritt mit einem
Signalton.
Hinweis: Werden zu viele Banknoten gleichzei-
tig aufgelegt, erscheint die Meldung OVERLOAD.
Entnehmen Sie nur so viele Banknoten vom Wie-
geteller, bis die Fehlermeldung erlischt.
Die Fehlermeldung erscheint auch, wenn der
Münzbecher beim Wiegen von Banknoten auf
dem Wiegeteller verbleibt.
Die RS Geldwaage verfügt über eine Vielzahl von Funktionen. Diese lassen sich im SETUP-Menü ein-
stellen.

SETUP-Menü
Durch gleichzeitiges Drücken der Tasten < und > gelangen Sie in das SETUP-Menü.
Den gewünschten Menüpunkt wählen Sie mit den Tasten < oder > aus. Bestätigen Sie Ihre Wahl durch
Drücken der Taste OK. Sie verlassen das SETUP-Menü durch langes Betätigen der Taste Clear.
AUTO ADD: Diese Funktion ist bereits werksseitig aktiviert. Das aktuelle Zählergebnis wird automatisch

play wird Auto Add angezeigt.
AUTO CONT: Diese Funktion ist bereits werksseitig aktiviert. Die RS Geldwaage schaltet automatisch
zum nächst höheren Wert weiter. Im Display wird Auto Cont angezeigt.
COIN ROLL:
Ist die Münzrollenfunktion aktiviert, springt die
Geldwaage, nachdem alle Münzen gezählt wor-
den, in den Münzrollen Wiegemodus. Dieser wird
im Display mit dem Münzrollensymbol angezeigt.
Wichtiger Hinweis:
Legen Sie bitte nur einzelne Rollen auf die Waa-
ge. Wurde die aufgelegte Rolle erkannt, kann eine
weitere Rolle nachgelegt werden.
CURRENCY:
Auswahl der zu zählenden Währung. Werksseitig
zählt die RS Geldwaage: Euro, Britische Pfund
und Schweizer Franken. Die eingestellte Währung
wird im Display angezeigt.
Tipp:
Mit der optional erhältlichen Software, können
Sie drei beliebige Währungen einspeichern.
CLB CUP:
Kalibrierung von Münzbecher und Kassencups. Legen Sie den Becher/Cup auf den Wiegeteller und
starten Sie den Vorgang durch Drücken der Taste OK. Ein akustisches Signal ertönt. Bestätigen Sie
anschließend den Kalibrierungsvorgang mit der Taste OK.
FCTRY SET:
Zurücksetzen aller vorgenommenen Einstellungen, inkl. Kalibrierung der Geldwaage. Zum Zurückset-
zen auf die Werkseinstellungen, halten Sie in diesem Modus die Taste OK solange gedrückt, bis der
Vorgang mit drei Signaltönen bestätigt wurde.
Hinweis:
Der Betrieb der Geldwaage ist nach dem Zurücksetzen auf die Werkseinstellungen erst nach erneuter
Kalibrierung möglich.

Wechselgeldsumme einstellen
Die Float-Funktion befindet sich ebenfalls im
SETUP-Menü. Mit den Tasten < oder > wird die
gewünschte Wechselgeldsumme schrittweise
eingestellt bzw. kann vergrößert und verkleinert
werden. Gespeichert wird der Wert mit der Taste
OK. Nachdem ein Wert eingestellt wurde, lässt
sich die Wechselgeld-Funktion über die Taste
INFO jederzeit ein- und ausschalten.
Hinweis: Um die Wechselgeldsumme mit der
Gesamtsumme zu verrechen, bestätigen Sie die
Eingabe im normalen Zählmodus durch längeres
Drücken der Taste INFO. Wird der Wert abgezo-
gen, ist neben dem Float Symbol ein Pfeil ein-
geblendet. Die Funktion kann auf diese Weise
auch bequem ausgeschaltet werden.

Floatfunktion ausführen
Ist die Float-Funktion aktiviert, beginnt der Zähler für die Gesamtsumme mit einem negativen Wert.
Dieser entspricht der zuvor eingestellten Wechselgeldsumme. Alle gewogenen Münz- und Banknoten-
mengen werden jetzt auf den negativen Startwert aufaddiert. Erreicht die Gesamtsumme den Wert Null,
bzw. überschreitet diesen, weist die Geldwaage mit einem Signalton darauf hin.
Wichtiger Hinweis:
Ist die Wechselgeld-Funktion aktiviert, sind die Modi Frei Wiegen und Referenz Wiegen nicht verfügbar!
Neben den beschriebenen Optionen, bietet die Geldwaage Ihnen verschiedene Sonderfunktionen.
Diese werden im Folgenden erklärt.
Funktion Float/Wechselgeld (nur RS 1200)
Oft verbleibt nach Kassenabschluss ein fester Betrag in der Kasse, das Wechselgeld für den nächsten
Geschäftstag. Dieser Betrag wird bei der nächsten Abrechnung separat angezeigt.
