walking you through the setup process.
• EnergySaver
Saves energy by automatically turning off the
VCR when it is not being used. Also helps
prevent missing timer recordings due to the
VCR being left on.
• Auto Daylight Savings Adjustment
Automatically adjusts the VCR’s clock twice a
year for daylight savings time, so you won’t
have to.
• On-Screen Setup Menus
A well organized set of menus allow you to
conveniently set up time and date, channel lists
and personal preferences for automatic features,
EnergySaver and remote control address.
• One-Button Express Record (XPR)
Simplifies the recording of a TV show in
progress. One button begins recording and sets
the program length, so that the VCR records
and switches off automatically.
• Trilingual On-Screen Menus
Choose between English, French, and Spanish
operating and programming instructions,
displayed on your television.
• Go Back (Previous Channel)
Makes it easy to switch between two channels
with the press of one button.
• Quick-Start Mechanism
As soon as a tape is loaded into this VCR, it’s
ready to play.
• Auto Power On/Play/Rewind/Shutoff
Simply inserting a cassette in the VCR turns it
on (Auto Power On). When a prerecorded
cassette is inserted in the VCR, it automatically
starts playing (Auto Play). When the end of the
tape is reached, Auto Rewind automatically
rewinds the tape. If the VCR is turned off
during rewind, it will continue rewinding until
end of tape is reached, then shut off.

Selects VHF/UHF broadcast channels, and up to
125 cable channels.
• 8-Event/1-Year
Programmable Timer
The built-in timer memory can be preset up to
one year in advance to record as many as eight
different programs automatically. Record
options include one-time, daily, weekdays
and weekly events.

Auto Cable/Antenna Switch
Automatically selects cable or antenna tuning
and stores available off-air or unscrambled
cable channels in memory.
• Simplified On-Screen Programming
With the remote control and on-screen
displays, all timer programming can be done
from the convenience of your chair. On-screen
instructions guide the viewer through each
programming sequence.
• Real-Time Counter
Front-panel and on-screen displays show
elapsed tape time in hours: minutes: seconds
(on-screen display only). Makes locating
segments easier.
• VHS Index Search System
Simplifies locating the start of recorded pro-
grams by placing an electronic marker at the
beginning of each new recording. Select an
index number and the VCR will locate it and
begin playback.
• Go-To Search
Advances or reverses to a selected tape counter
position.
• Auto Clock Set5
The Auto Clock Set circuitry reads the Gemstar
broadcast signal5containing time of day and
date information, automatically setting the
clock during initial setup as well as after most
power interruptions.
• Automatic Head Cleaning System
Safely cleans the video and audio heads and
helps maintain optimum picture performance
during recording and playback.
