IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION
IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ ALL INFORMATION FIRST
Like any scale, you control the accuracy of your RCBS® ChargeMaster Lite. Before using the
scale, read this instruction manual carefully to fully learn how to safely operate the scale.
Failure to properly operate the scale can result in severe personal injury and/or equipment
damage. If you have read these instructions and still do not understand some operation,
call us at 1-800-379-1732 and a technician will assist you. This instruction manual contains
specic safety and operating information. It should be considered a permanent part of your
reloading equipment and remain with the equipment at all times for easy reference.
RELOADING SAFETY
Reloading is an enjoyable and rewarding hobby that can be conducted safely. However, as
with any hobby, carelessness or negligence can make reloading hazardous. This product has
been designed from the beginning with the user’s safety in mind. When reloading, safety
rules must be followed. By observing these rules, the chance of a hazardous occurrence caus-
ing personal injury or property damage is minimized.
GENERAL
• Always wear safety glasses.
• Understand what you are doing and why. Read handbooks and manuals on reloading.
Talk to experienced reloaders. Write or call suppliers of equipment or components if you
have questions or are in doubt.
• Read and understand all warnings and instructions accompanying your equipment
and components. If you do not have written instructions, request a copy from the
manufacturer. Keep instructions for future reference.
• Do not rush or take short cuts. Establish a routine and follow it at a leisurely pace.
• Do not smoke while reloading, or reload near sources of heat, sparks or ame.
• Observe good housekeeping in the reloading area. Keep tools and components neat,
clean and orderly. Promptly and completely clean up any spills.
• Keep your hands and ngers away from“danger”spots and pinch-points where they
might be injured.
• Keep all reloading equipment and components out of reach of children.
• Keep all packing material out of reach of children.
• This device is not intended for use by individuals with restricted physical, sensory
or mental capacities or those with a lack of experience and/or knowledge, including
children, unless they are supervised by an individual who is responsible for their safety
or have received training in operating the device.
• Stay alert. Reload only when you can give your undivided attention. Do not reload when
tired, ill, rushed or under the inuence of drugs or alcohol.
Because RCBS®has no control over the choice, assembly or use of components or other re-
loading equipment, RCBS assumes no liability, expressed or implied, for the use of ammuni-
tion reloaded with this product.

PRIMERS AND POWDER
• Store powder beyond the reach of children and away from heat, dampness, open ames
and electrical equipment. Avoid areas where static electricity is evident.
• DO NOT have more than one can of powder on the bench at one time. Powder cans
should be stored away from the bench to avoid picking up the wrong one.
• DO NOT use any powder unless its identity is positively known. The only positive
identication is the manufacturer’s label on the original canister. Discard all mixed
powders and those of uncertain identity.
• DO NOT store powder in the unit after a reloading session. Over time the powder will
corrode the powder hopper.
LOADING DATA
WARNING! DO NOT SMOKE WHILE RELOADING.
• OBSERVE ALL WARNINGS ABOUT THE USE OF MAXIMUM LISTED LOADS.
• Use only laboratory tested reloading data. We recommend the SPEER Reloading Manual.
WARNING!
This digital scale is for use with smokeless powders only. DO NOT USE WITH BLACK POWDER
(used in muzzle loading rearms). If black powder should come in contact with an electrical
spark, an explosion may occur, resulting in serious injury or death.
CALIBRATION
Calibration should be performed before every use. Prior to calibration, scale should be
turned on and allowed to warm up for at least 15-20 minutes. If using battery as power
source, place both 50 gram calibration weights onto platen, this will bypass the auto shuto
of 3 minutes and allow the scale to complete the 15-20 minute warm up period. The warm
up process should be performed prior to every use if scale has been o for more than 30
minutes. Calibration is performed WITHOUT scale pan on the platen. To calibrate correctly,
follow the CALIBRATION section of this instruction manual. A scale with improper calibration
will cause an incorrect charge weight which may exceed the maximum recommended load.
Re-check frequently during use with the calibration weights provided. If accuracy is found to
be out of tolerance, the scale must be recalibrated.
PRECAUTIONS
Digital scales are very reliable devices. However, here are some events which may result in an
inaccurate reading:
• Change in temperature. If the temperature changes more than a few degrees, you must
re-calibrate the scale. Allow scale to stabilize for 20-30 minutes prior to use.
• Changes in scale location or a non-level working surface.
• O center placement of weights on the platen.
• Jarring of the scale during operation.
• Use only the two calibration weights supplied for accuracy.
• Weight accuracy is crucial. Keep weights clean and carefully stored. If dropped or
damaged, have weights inspected against known standards. Contact RCBS Customer
Service.

• Static electricity can cause the scale to “jump around”. If static build-up is evident, wipe
scale with an anti-static sheet, or use anti-static spray. Spray on clean soft cloth rst. Do
not allow spray to get into mechanism.
• If powder should get inside the unit, stop operation immediately and do not use scale
until it has been serviced. Contact RCBS Customer Service.
• Do not press on the platform with your hand. You can damage the load cell.
RECORD KEEPING
• Keep complete records of reloads. Apply a descriptive label to each box showing the
date produced, and the primer, powder and bullet used. Labels for this purpose are
packed with SPEER bullets. Never attempt to guess at the identity of your ammunition.
NOTE: The scale was shipped in protective packaging. Save and use for transporting or long-
term storage of the unit. This instrument may only be serviced by a certied technician. See
back cover for address and Toll-free Customer Service phone number.

GENERAL INFORMATION
The scale should be stored and used at normal room temperature. It should never be stored
in cold or freezing temperatures, which can damage the load cell. If the scale has been sitting
at a cool temperature, remove it from the carton and allow it to sit at room temperature for
about 20 to 30 minutes before using.
Carefully unpack the scale. Look for and identify the following items:
• Scale with Platen
• AC Power Adaptor
• Two 50 gram weights
• Powder pan
• Instruction Manual
The scale was shipped in protective packaging which should be saved and used for
transporting the scale. This packaging is also recommended for long term storage of the unit.

IMPORTANT:
Treat the scale as you would any ne instrument. ChargeMaster Lite is physically very fragile
and the load cell can be damaged by the following:
• Pushing down or dropping the scale.
• Pulling up on the platen in such a way that it binds in the load cell.
• A sudden, violent physical shock to the scale.

SCALE INDICATORS DESCRIPTION
Stable: indicates the weight is stable
Over: indicates the powder weight in the pan is higher than the set value
Under: indicates the powder weight in the pan is lower than the set value
Auto: indicates in Automatic Dispense Mode
Manual: indicates in Manual Dispense Mode
FUNCTION KEY DESCRIPTION
: Key is to power the scale on and o. When you turn the scale on the display will rst
show 99999 and will go through a quick count down and will then display to 0.0 GN (grain
mode).“Stable”indicates when ready to use. When the scale is not in use the scale should
be turned o and unplugged.
GO: Press key to dispense the powder once you have entered a given charge.
CAL: Key is used to calibrate the scale. You should calibrate your scale each time you begin
a new reloading session. See the calibration section for full details. (Note: it is important
to make certain the scale display is properly set to the weight unit (either grains or grams)
that you are using.
ZERO: Key is used to re-zero the scale. For example, to weigh powder in a powder pan, you
would rst place an empty pan on the scale platen and press [ZERO] key to re-zero the
scale. This will automatically subtract the weight of the pan from the scale.
MODE: Key switches between Auto to Manual Dispensing mode. The default is Auto.
UNITS: Key switches scale from GN (grains) to GM (grams). The default is GN.
TRICKLE : Hold it to manually to dispense the powder.
CANCEL: Clear the data or stop the operation.


CALIBRATION
Always warm up the scale before calibration. Always calibrate your scale before use. This
must be done WITHOUT the powder pan on the platform. To calibrate the scale, follow the
steps below:
Step 1. Be sure the powder pan has been removed from the scale platen. When you turn
the scale on, the display will show 99999 across the display for a few seconds and then
counts down to display 0.0 GN (grains mode). Once“Stable” shows up, the scale is ready to
proceed with calibrating. See Fig. 1.
Step 2. Next please press [CAL] key on the scale. The display will show C 0, with a lower
case g in the upper right hand corner of the display. See Fig. 2.
Step 3. When the display shows C 0 and “Stable”shows up, press the [CAL] key again.
Step 4. When the display shows C 50, place a 50 gram weight on the platen and press the
[CAL] key. See Fig. 3.
Step 5. When the display shows C 100, add the second 50 gram weight to the platen and
press the [CAL] key. See Fig. 4.
Step 6. Now the display will show 100.00 g, See Fig. 5. Remove both weights from the
platen, and replace them to their weight holders. The display will automatically switch to
0.0 GN (grains) and the scale will sound a beep.
Step 7. Next place the powder pan on the platen and press the [ZERO] key to zero the
weight of the pan. The display will show 0.0 GN and is now calibrated and ready to
operate. See Fig. 6.
Notice: In the calibration process, when it shows ERROR, it is probably caused by the
incorrect weight. Please use the weights we provided.

DISPENSING MODE:
Step 1. Use the number keys to key in the desired weight, and press [GO] key to start the
dispensing process. The decimal point must be used to enter charges using tenth grain
increments. (e.g., 45.5) Use [CANCEL] key to clear the value and re-enter the charge.
Note: To discard the entered desired weight, please press [ZERO] key and return to scale
mode.
Note: the valid values: 2.0 – 999.9, and 1000-2000
Step 2. After the dispenser has nished dispensing the charge, press [GO] key again to
dispense the same weight again. Continue this process as long as you do not want to
change the powder charge.
Step 3. If you need to change the weight, key in the new weight as in Step #1 and press
[GO] key.
Step 4. If you are dispensing powder and wish to exit dispensing mode, press [CANCEL]
key.
Step 5. To change the dispensed weight value in dispensing mode, the [TRICKLE] key
may be used to ne-tune the exact value. For example, 10.0GN is the rst dispensing
weight, press [GO] key to start the dispensing process. After the dispensing process, press
[TRICKLE] key to keep dispensing till 12.5GN.
MANUALLY DISPENSING OPERATION WITH TRICKLE KEY:
Press [TRICKLE] key to dispense the powder slowly. Release [TRICKLE] key to stop
dispensing.
AUTOMATIC DISPENSE MODE:
The improved ChargeMaster Lite has been outtted with an Auto-Dispense feature. This
allows powder charges to automatically dispense from the unit once an empty scale pan is
placed onto the unit.
Step 1. Press and hold [MODE] key until the display shows“Auto”
Step 2. Enter the desired charge and press [GO] key to dispense the rst charge.
Step 3. Return the empty scale pan onto the scale platen. When the display shows“0.0” the
Dispenser will automatically dispense the charge.
Step 4. Return to the normal operating mode. Press and hold [MODE] key until the display
shows“Manual”.

QUICK DRAIN FEATURE:
To quickly drain the remaining powder from your dispenser:
Step 1. Place a tray under the drain spout (Fig. 7) on the right hand side of your dispenser.
Step 2. Turn the drain spout ½ turn to open the spout (Fig. 8). You may need to tap on the
top of the dispenser to start the powder to drain.
Step 3. To drain the powder in your dispenser tube push the dispense button and the
powder will dispense into the powder pan.
Step 4. Use the small brush provided to clean all of the powder reservoir.
Step 5. When nished be sure to close the drain spout.

Electronic Equipment is warranted to be free from defects in material or workmanship for a period

AMORCES ET POUDRE
• Stockez la poudre hors de portée des enfants et à l'écart de la chaleur, de l'humidité,
desammes et des équipements électriques. Évitez les zones ou la présence d'électricité
statique est manifeste.
• N'AYEZ PAS plus d'une bouteille de poudre sur votre établi à n'importe quel moment. Les
bouteilles de poudre devraient être stockées à l'écart de l'établi pour éviter de les confondre.
• N'utilisez PAS une poudre à moins que son identité soit connue de façon positive. Leseul
moyen de l'identier de façon positive est l'étiquette du fabricant sur la bouteille d'origine.
N'utilisez pas les poudres mélangées, et celles à l'identité incertaine.
• Ne stockez PAS de la poudre dans l'appareil après une session de rechargement. Lapoudre
est corrosive et nira par endommager son réservoir.

AVERTISSEMENT!
Cette balance digitale est destinée à être utilisée avec de la poudre pyroxylée (ou poudre sans
fumée) uniquement. NE L'UTILISEZ PAS AVEC DE LA POUDRE NOIRE (utiliséedans les armes à
chargement par la bouche). Si de la poudre noire venait à entrer en contact avec une étincelle
électrique, cela pourrait créer une explosion susceptible de causer desblessures oula mort.
CALIBRAGE
Vériez le calibrage de la balance avant chaque utilisation, et revériez fréquemment pendant
l'utilisation avec les outils de calibrage fournis. Le RCBS Scale Check Weight Set permet une
vérication ponctuelle aisée pendant l'utilisation de la balance. Si sa précision se trouve en
dehors des limites de tolérance, la balance doit être recalibrée en suivant la section CALIBRAGE
de ce manuel d'instructions. Une balance mal calibrée mènera à des poids decharge incorrects,
susceptibles d'excéder les charges maximales recommandées.
Pour en assurer la sécurité et la garantie, cet outil doit être utilisé uniquement par
untechnicien d'usine entraîné et qualié. Pour toute information de réparation, contactez

PRÉCAUTIONS
Les balances digitales sont des appareils particulièrement ables. Toutefois, certains événements
peuvent mener à des lectures erronées:
• Un changement de température. Si la température change de plus de quelques degrés, vous
devrez recalibrer la balance. Laissez la balance se stabiliser 20 à 30 minutes avant utilisation.
• Un changement dans l'emplacement de la balance, ou un plan de travail qui n'est pas
parfaitement plat.
• Un placement décentré des poids sur le plateau.
• La secousse de la balance pendant son utilisation.
• Utilisez uniquement les deux outils de calibration fournis pour une précision maximale.

• La précision du poids est extrêmement importante. Gardez les poids propres etstockez–les
avec soin. En cas de dégradation ou de chute, faites inspecter vos poidspar rapport à des
normes connues. Contactez le Service client RCBS.
• L'électricité statique peut rendre la balance instable. En cas d'accumulation d'électricité
statique, essuyez la balance avec un chion antistatique, ou utilisez un spray
antistatique. Vaporisez d'abord sur un chion doux propre. Faites en sorte de ne pas
introduire du spray dans le mécanisme.
• Si de la poudre venait à s'introduire dans l'appareil, arrêtez–en son utilisation et ne vous en
servez pas avant que la balance ait été révisée. Contactez le Service client RCBS.
• N'appuyez pas sur le plateau avec votre main. Vous pourriez endommager la cellule
decharge.
CONSERVATION DES INFORMATIONS
• Gardez des informations complètes sur vos rechargements. Appliquez une étiquette
descriptive sur chaque boîte, avec la date de production, ainsi que le type d'amorce,
depoudre et d'ogive utilisées. Des étiquettes prévues à cet eet sont emballées dans
lesboîtes d'ogives SPEER. N'essayez jamais de deviner l'identité de vos munitions.
NOTE: la balance a été expédiée dans un emballage protecteur. Conservez–le pour letransport
ou le stockage à long terme de l'appareil. Cet appareil ne peut être révisé queparun technicien
certié. Voir au dos pour l'adresse et le numéro vert du service client.

INFORMATIONS GÉNÉRALES
La balance devrait être stockée et utilisée à température ambiante. Elle ne devrait jamais être
stockée à des températures basses ou de congélation, qui peuvent endommager lacellule
de charge. Si la balance est restée un certain temps à basse température, retirez–la de
son carton et laissez–lui le temps de se mettre à température ambiante pendant 20 ou 30
minutes avant utilisation.
Déballez précautionneusement la balance. Vériez la présence des éléments suivants:
• La balance avec son plateau
• L'adaptateur secteur
• Deux poids de 50 grammes
• Le bassinet de poudre

La balance a été expédiée dans un emballage protecteur qui devrait être conservé etutilisé
pour son transport. Cet emballage est également recommandé pour le stockage à long
terme de l'appareil.

IMPORTANT:
Traitez la balance comme n'importe quel autre outil de précision. La ChargeMaster Lite est
très fragile, et la cellule de charge peut être endommagée par les opérations suivantes:
• Appuyer sur la balance ou la laisser tomber au sol.
• Remonter le plateau de façon à tordre la cellule de charge.
• Un choc physique violent et soudain sur la balance.

Stable: indique que le poids est stable
Over: indique que le poids de poudre dans le bassinet est plus élevé que la valeur entrée
Under: indique que le poids de poudre dans le bassinet est plus bas que la valeur entrée
Auto: indique que la balance est en mode de distribution automatique
Manual: indique que la balance et en mode de distribution manuel
DESCRIPTION DES TOUCHES DE FONCTION
: cette touche permet le démarrage et l'arrêt de la balance. Lors de l'allumage
delabalance, celle–ci indiquera d'abord 99999 et procédera à un compte à rebours rapide
avant d'acher 0.0 GN (le mode grain). «Stable» signie qu'elle est prête à être utilisée.
Quand vous n'utilisez pas la balance, elle devrait être éteinte et débranchée.
GO: appuyez sur cette touche pour distribuer la poudre après avoir indiqué une charge.
CAL: cette touche est utilisée pour calibrer la balance. Vous devriez calibrer votre balance au
début de chaque session de rechargement. Voir la section «calibrage» pour de plus amples
détails. (Remarque: il est important de s'assurer que l'achage delabalance est réglé sur
l'unité de poids que vous souhaitez utiliser (grain ougrammes).
ZERO: cette touche est utilisée pour tarer la balance. Par exemple, pour peser la poudre
contenue dans un bassinet, vous pouvez placer le bassinet vide sur le plateau et appuyer sur
la touche [ZERO] pour remettre la balance à zéro. Cela retirera automatiquement lepoids du
bassinet sur la balance.
MODE: cette touche est utilisée pour passer du mode de distribution automatique aumode
manuel, et inversement. Le mode par défaut est Auto.
UNITS: cette touche est utilisée pour passer des grains (GN) aux grammes (GM). Lemode par
défaut est GN.
TRICKLE: maintenez cette touche pour distribuer la poudre.
CANCEL: eace les données ou arrête l'opération en cours.

