IMPORTANT NOTES
Before connecting and using this product, please read this instruction manual
carefully and keep it on hand for future reference. The manual is to be
considered an integral part of this product and must accompany it when it
changes ownership as a reference for correct installation and use as well as
for the safety precautions.
RCF S.p.A. will not assume any responsibility for the incorrect installation and
/ or use of this product.
WARNING: To prevent the risk of fire or electric shock, never expose this
remote control to rain or humidity.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
1. All the precautions, in particular the safety ones, must be read with special
attention, as they provide important information.
2. RC 2946 remote control is a ZM 2000 system component. Ensure the ZM
2124 / ZM 2100 main unit is turned off before installing it.
3. Make sure all connections have been made correctly.
4. Make sure that no objects or liquids can get into this product, as this may
cause a short circuit.
5. Never attempt to carry out any operations, modifications or repairs.
Contact your authorized service centre or qualified personnel should any of
the following occur:
- The remote control does not operate (or works in an anomalous way).
- Objects or liquids have got into the remote control.
- The remote control has been damaged (due to heavy impacts or fire).
6. Should any part of the remote control emit any strange odour or smoke,
remove it from the line after having immediately switched the system off.
7. Do not connect this product to any equipment or accessories not foreseen.
Check the suitability of the support surface (wall, structure, etc., which the
product is anchored to) and the components used for attachment that must
guarantee the security of the system / installation over time, also considering,
for example, the mechanical vibrations normally generated by loudspeakers.
8. RCF S.p.A. strongly recommends this product is only installed by
professional qualified installers (or specialised firms), who can ensure a
correct installation and certify it according to the regulations in force. The
entire audio system must comply with the current standards and regulations
regarding electrical systems.

9. Hearing loss
Exposure to high sound levels can cause permanent hearing loss. The acoustic
pressure level that leads to hearing loss is different from person to person
and depends on the duration of exposure. To prevent potentially dangerous
exposure to high levels of acoustic pressure, anyone who is exposed to these
levels should use adequate protection devices. When a transducer capable
of producing high sound levels is being used, it will be necessary to wear ear
plugs or protective earphones.
10. To prevent inductive effects from causing hum, noise and a bad system
working, the remote control cable should not be laid together with other
electric cables (mains), loudspeaker lines, microphone or line level signal
cables or be close to electromagnetic fields.
11. Install this remote control selector far from any heat source.
12. Do not use solvents, alcohol, benzene or other volatile substances to
clean its external parts.

AND HIGH PERFORMANCE.
RC 2946 is a wall-mounted remote control for the ZM 2124 / ZM 2100 main unit
that allows to select the AUX inputs, to enable the music bus in each zone and
control the volume level.
On its front panel, there are a MIC input (XLR socket) and a LINE input (1/8” jack)
to connect a local music source.
The remote control can be connected to the main unit through a CAT5 FTP cable
having two RJ 45 plugs.

Fix its included box to the wall with 4 suitable plugs (not included) and
then the RC 2946 remote control (after connecting it) to the box though the
included 4 screws.

FRONT PANEL
1ON button with LED
Push to turn on (LED lit) / off the remote control.
2Volume control buttons
Push either + to increase or – to decrease the master volume.
The master volume level is displayed.
3Display indicating the master volume level (adjustable through the +
/ – buttons 2)
4ON buttons to turn zones on (A to F)
Push one or more buttons per turn on / off the music bus in each respective
zone.
Each LED is steady lit while its respective zone is selected (or flashing when
paging).
5ALL ON button with LED
Push to turn all zones on. The ALL and A ÷ F zone LEDs light up.
6AUX input selector with LEDs
Push (once or twice) to select (in sequence) the local audio input (MIC 9
and/or LINE IN 8) of the RC 2946 remote control (SRC) or the AUX 1 / AUX
2 input of the main unit.
Only the selected input is open.

7MIX LEVEL control
Use a small screwdriver to adjust the level of the local audio input (MIC 9
and/or LINE IN 8).
8LINE IN audio input (1/8" jack TRS)
Stereo audio input (unbalanced) to connect a music source having a "line"
level output (i.e. MP3 player, CD, etc.).
Note: left and right channels are mixed inside to get a mono signal.

Do NOT use the unbalanced connection if the 'Phantom' power is on. The
unbalanced connection is not advisable when the cable is longer than 5
metres (c. 16 feet).
Remove the jumper on the printed circuit board to disable the 'Phantom'
power.

Prima di collegare ed utilizzare questo prodotto, leggere attentamente
le istruzioni contenute in questo manuale, il quale è da conservare per
riferimenti futuri.
Il presente manuale costituisce parte integrante del prodotto e deve
accompagnare quest’ultimo anche nei passaggi di proprietà, per permettere
al nuovo proprietario di conoscere le modalità d’installazione e d’utilizzo e le
avvertenze per la sicurezza.
L’installazione e l’utilizzo errati del prodotto esimono la RCF S.p.A. da ogni
responsabilità.
ATTENZIONE: Per prevenire i rischi di fiamme o scosse elettriche, non
esporre le parti che compongono il controllo remoto alla pioggia od
all’umidità.
AVVERTENZE PER LA SICUREZZA
1. Tutte le avvertenze, in particolare quelle relative alla sicurezza, devono
essere lette con particolare attenzione, in quanto contengono importanti
informazioni.
2. Il controllo remoto RC 2946 è un componente del sistema ZM 2000;
assicurarsi che l’unità centrale ZM 2124 / ZM 2100 sia spenta prima di
installarlo.
3. Assicurarsi che tutte le connessioni siano corrette.
4. Impedire che oggetti o liquidi entrino nel prodotto, perché potrebbero
causare un corto circuito.
5. Non eseguire sul prodotto interventi / modifiche / riparazioni.
Contattare i centri di assistenza autorizzati o personale altamente qualificato
quando:
- il controllo remoto non funziona (o funziona in modo anomalo);
- oggetti o liquidi sono entrati nel controllo remoto;
- il controllo remoto non è più integro (a causa di urti / incendio).
6. Nel caso che dalle parti che compongono il controllo remoto provengano
odori anomali o fumo, scollegarlo dopo aver immediatamente spento il
sistema.
7. Non collegare al controllo remoto apparecchi ed accessori non previsti.
Verificare l’idoneità del supporto (parete, struttura, ecc.) e dei componenti
utilizzati per il fissaggio che devono garantire la sicurezza dell’impianto
/ installazione nel tempo, anche considerando, ad esempio, vibrazioni
meccaniche normalmente generate dai diffusori acustici.

8. La RCF S.p.A. raccomanda vivamente che l’installazione di questo
prodotto sia eseguita solamente da installatori professionali qualificati
(oppure da ditte specializzate) in grado di farla correttamente e certificarla
in accordo con le normative vigenti. Tutto il sistema audio dovrà essere in
conformità con le norme e le leggi vigenti in materia di impianti elettrici.
9. Perdita dell’udito
L’esposizione ad elevati livelli sonori può provocare la perdita permanente
dell’udito. Il livello di pressione acustica pericolosa per l’udito varia
sensibilmente da persona a persona e dipende dalla durata dell’esposizione.
Per evitare un’esposizione potenzialmente pericolosa ad elevati livelli di
pressione acustica, è necessario che chiunque sia sottoposto a tali livelli
utilizzi delle adeguate protezioni; quando si fa funzionare un trasduttore in
grado di produrre elevati livelli sonori è necessario indossare dei tappi per
orecchie o delle cuffie protettive.
10. Per evitare che fenomeni induttivi diano luogo a ronzii, disturbi e
compromettano il buon funzionamento dell’impianto, il cavo del controllo
remoto non dovrebbe essere posto vicino a campi elettromagnetici e
canalizzato insieme ai conduttori dell’energia elettrica, ai cavi microfonici,
alle linee di segnale e quelle dei diffusori acustici che fanno capo ad
amplificatori.
11. Collocare il controllo remoto lontano da fonti di calore.
12. Non usare solventi, alcool, benzina o altre sostanze volatili per la pulitura
delle parti esterne.

PRESTAZIONI ELEVATE.
RC 2946 è un controllo remoto (installabile a parete), utilizzabile con l’unità
centrale ZM 2124 o ZM 2100, per la selezione degli ingressi AUX, l’attivazione del
“bus” musica in ciascuna zona ed il controllo del volume.
È dotato di un ingresso microfonico (presa XLR) o di linea (jack 1/8”) per il
collegamento di una sorgente musicale locale.
Il collegamento si effettua tramite un cavo CAT5 FTP avente alle estremità due
connettori RJ 45.

Fissare la scatola in dotazione alla parete con 4 tasselli adeguati (non inclusi)
ed il controllo remoto RC 2946 (dopo averlo collegato) alla scatola tramite le
4 viti in dotazione.

1Pulsante ON con LED
Premere per attivare (LED acceso) o disattivare (LED spento) il controllo
remoto.
2Tasti per il controllo del volume principale
Premere + per incrementare il volume principale oppure – per diminuirlo.
Il livello del volume principale è indicato sul display 3.
3Display indicante il livello del volume principale (regolabile tramite i
tasti + / – 2)
4Tasti ON per l’attivazione delle zone (da A a F)
Premere uno o più tasti per attivare o disattivare il “bus” della musica nelle
rispettive zone.
Ogni LED è acceso fisso quando la sua rispettiva zona è selezionata (o
lampeggiante durante un annuncio microfonico).
5Tasto ALL ON con LED
Premere per attivare tutte le uscite di zona; i LED ALL e tutti quelli di zona A
÷ F si accendono.
6Selettore degli ingressi AUX con indicatori luminosi (LED)
Premere (una o due volte) per selezionare (in sequenza) l’ingresso audio (MIC
9e/o LINE IN 8) del controllo remoto RC 2946 (SRC) oppure l’ingresso

L’ingresso selezionato è aperto, mentre gli altri 2 sono disattivati.
7Controllo MIX LEVEL
Usare un piccolo cacciavite per regolare il livello dell’ingresso audio locale
(MIC 9e/o LINE IN 8).

Ingresso stereo sbilanciato per il collegamento di un apparecchio avente
l’uscita audio a livello linea (es. lettore MP3, CD, ecc.).
Nota: nel controllo remoto RC 2946, i due canali del segnale stereo sono
miscelati in mono.

Non usare il collegamento sbilanciato quando l’alimentazione “Phantom”
è attiva; il collegamento sbilanciato non è consigliabile quando si utilizzano
cavi di lunghezza superiore ai 5 metri.
Per disattivare l’alimentazione “Phantom”, rimuovere il jumper posto sul
circuito stampato.
