5.0 TRANSPORT, PACKAGING AND STORAGE
5.1 TRANSPORT
The TRITECTOR comes with a sturdy plastic case. The plastic case protects
against vibrations during transport and handling. Always use the plastic case to
protect the TRITECTOR and accessories and secure it to the cargo area during
transport. The storage conditions must also be maintained during transport.
5.2 PACKAGING
The plastic case is made of polyethylene (LDPE) and protects the leak detector
from drop damage.
5.3 STORAGE
The storage temperatures (Section 3.0) must be maintained and the plastic case
must be closed.
6.0 COMMISSIONING AND FUNCTIONS
6.1 COMMISSIONING
Insert four batteries into the battery compartment on the bottom. Observe the
correct polarity of the batteries. If you will not be using the TRITECTOR for a
long period of time, remove the batteries from the battery compartment.

6.2 FUNCTIONS
Ambient concentration reset
When entering a contaminated area, it is important to have a function which
allows you to reset the leak detector. Upon initial power on, the TRITECTOR
automatically resets itself to ambient concentration, to ignore the level of
refrigerant present at the tip. Only a level or concentration greater than the
ambient concentration will cause an alarm.
Automatic reset
After 30 seconds, the leak detector resets itself. This function takes into account
the changes in the environment and resets itself just if there are no significant
changes. By default, this function activated, but you have the possibility to turn
this function off. By pressing & simultaneously for three seconds
this function is disabled.
By disabling this function, the symbol appears in the display. When starting
the TRITECTOR, it will reset itself for the first time (Ambient concentration
reset).
Manual reset
The manual reset allows you to reset the TRITECTOR whenever you want and
you feel that it is necessary.
To manually reset the TRITECTOR, press briefly . A double tone sounds
and all rings on the display light up briefly, to indicate that the manual reset has
been performed.
Peak
The Peak function facilitates searching for a leak in a hard to reach area without
being able to see the LCD display.
The Peak function shows the highest concentration detected by the
TRITECTOR. To enable the peak function, press and hold the peak button

for 3 seconds. As long as the function is enabled, the icon appears in the
display.
To disable the function press and hold the peak button again.
Battery Management
To increase the battery life time, the TRITECTOR has two functions:
Auto shut off:
After 10 minutes without pressing any button, the device will turn off.
Auto Backlight:
After three minutes, the display reduces its brightness to approximately 20%. If a
leak is detected, the brightness will increase to 100%.
Sensitivity Adjustment
Set the sensitivity level by pressing .
L M H indicates the sensitivity level: L=low, M=medium, H= high.
Mute
If desired, the audible sounds can be disabled. By momentarily pressing ,
the sound switches off or on.
By turning off the sound, you only have the visual indicator of a leak. No audible
indication will occur.
6.3 SENSOR EXCHANGE
Make sure the device is turned off before you change the sensor.
To change the sensor, the sensor holder must be turned to the left to release it.
Then the sensor can be carefully unplugged and pulled out.
The sensor must not be turned, as this can damage the sensor.
When replacing the sensor, the current sensor may be hot.

6.4 TEST LEAK
The TRITECTOR comes with a leak test vial that allows the user to ensure that
the detector is performing properly.
The Tracer gas sensor does not respond to the test leak vial, but it can be
tested with tracer gas (N2 95% and H25%).
The sensor must not be held directly at the outlet of the gas cylinder!

7.0 MAINTENANCE
The leak detector requires maintenance when used regularly:
Replace Filter:
Unscrew the sensor tip, as shown below. Replace the filter whenever it becomes
visibly dirty or every 3 to 4 months, depending on use.
Cleaning:
Clean the screen and the housing surface with a cloth and cleaning agent.
Do not use corrosive cleaning agents or solvents to clean the unit. Weak
household cleaners and soap suds may be used.
