Outdoor Gate Entry Alarm
Model Number: THP211
Product Description
The product is intended to monitor outdoor gates or other entry points for safety and security. It is designed to detect a gate
or door opening, which will immediately activate a very loud 105 decibel alarm. It uses a magnetic break triggering
mechanism to activate the alarm. There is a 3 digit password keypad which will allow homeowner to arm and disarm the
alarm and also to bypass the alarm when opening the gate or door.

IMPORTANT - Read and thoroughly understand the instructions and warranty rior to
installation. The installation of this alarm requires that the alarm be tested after
installation to ensure it functions ro erly.
Installation Instructions
Tools Required
9V Alkaline Battery
#2 Phillips screwdriver for wall anchors
#1 Phillips screwdriver for bracket screw and battery compartment screw.
1/4” drill if attaching the mounting bracket using the included Phillips screws and wall anchors.
Ste -by Ste Installation Procedure
1. Remove all packaging.
2. Remove the screw on the bottom front of the unit, below the “Bypass” button.
3. Slide the mounting bracket off.
4. Remove the screw at the bottom back of the unit, exposing the battery
compartment. Insert 9V Alkaline Battery and close battery compartment.
5. Reattach the mounting bracket if desired.
6.Locate a suitable location for the mounting the THP211. Install with screws, use
anchors if installing into drywall or plaster.
7. Use the adhesive pads or screws to mount the magnetic sensors – make sure the
arrows line up (see diagram below).
Low Battery Indicator
If the battery is low, the small LED light on the key ad will continuously flash, indicating it is time to re lace the
battery.

Programming The THP211 Alarm
After installing the battery, you are ready to program your personal password. It can be changed at any time.
SETTING UP A PASSWORD
1. Press and hold the “1” key on the keypad for about 3 seconds. You will hear an immediate beep as you press any
number on the keypad. Wait until you hear a second beep after the 3 seconds and release the “1” key.
2. Using the keypad, enter the default password of “123”. You will hear 2 beeps after you enter “123”.
3. Enter your new Personal Password (3 digits). You will hear 3 beeps after entering a new 3 digit password.
CHANGING YOUR PASSWORD
1. Press and hold the “1” key on the keypad for about 3 seconds. You will hear an immediate beep as you press any
number on the keypad. Wait until you hear a second beep after the 3 seconds and release the “1” key.
2. Using the keypad, enter your 3 digit password. You will hear 2 beeps after you enter the correct password.
3. Enter your new Personal Password (3 digits). You will hear 3 beeps after entering a new 3 digit password.
RESETTING YOUR PASSWORD
1. If you forgot the password, it can be reset.
2. Remove the battery for 2 minutes, and it will reset the password to the default of “123”.
3. Follow the steps “SETTING UP A NEW PASSWORD”.
Operation of the THP211 Alarm
MAGNETIC-BREAK SENSORS
The magnetic break sensors (pictured below) act as the alarm trigger mechanism. When the 2 arrows are separated by
about ½ of an inch for only a second, the alarm will trigger. Make sure upon installation that these sensors are installed
securely and the arrows are lined up properly.
ARMING AND DISARMING THE ALARM
To “ARM” the THP211 Outdoor Gate Alarm:
Enter your password and press the “ON/OFF” button on the keypad. After you enter the password, you will hear a series
of 3 beeps, indicating the alarm is “ARMED”. At this point, if the magnetic sensors are separated at any time, the unit will
sound a very loud 105 decibel alarm. The alarm will sound until the unit is “DISARMED” or until the battery is removed.
To “DISARM” the THP211 Outdoor Gate Alarm:
Enter your password and press the “ON/OFF” button on the keypad. After you enter the password, you will hear a long
extended beep, indicating the alarm is “DISARMED”.
BYPASS FUNCTION
There is a “BYPASS” button on the keypad. This button is used for someone to pass through the gate or doorway without
setting off the alarm.
To “BYPASS” the THP211 Outdoor Gate Alarm:
While the unit is ARMED, enter the password and press the “BYPASS” button on the keypad. You will hear a short beep,
indicating the unit will bypass the alarm. You can then open the door or gate and separate the magnetic sensors.
As soon as the door or gate is closed, the alarm is ARMED automatically.
If the door or gate remains open after BYPASS, the unit will sound 2 loud beeps every 15 seconds until the door or gate is
closed and the unit is automatically ARMED.

Reliance Controls Corporation (“Reliance”) warrants this product to be free from defects in materials and workmanship
under normal use for a period of one year from date of purchase, provided the product has been installed and used in
accordance with Reliance’s instructions and has not been subjected to misuse, alteration, modification, accident, or repair
not performed by Reliance. Reliance’s obligation under this warranty is strictly limited to repair or replacement of the
product only. The cost of labor to remove the product or install a replacement is not included in this warranty. Reliance
shall not be liable for any incidental, special, or consequential damages whatsoever, including damage to person or
property resulting from the product’s failure to operate in the manner in which it was designed. Use of this product is at the
risk of the owner. Reliance strongly recommends that this product be fully tested after installation in accordance with these
instructions to confirm proper operation and compatibility with your local phone system. Further, this product should be re
tested on a regular basis to insure continued operation. In the event that this product does not conform to this warranty
within the warranty period, the product may be returned with dated proof of purchase to Reliance, at the address below,
freight prepaid. Upon verification of defect Reliance shall at its sole discretion either repair or replace the defective product.
Batteries are not covered by this or any other warranty. The forgoing warranty is exclusive and in lieu of all other
expressed or implied warranties if any, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a
particular purpose. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights, which vary from state to
state.

Reliance will accept warranty returns for repair or replacement within the terms of the above warranty. All units deemed
out of warranty will be repaired at prevailing charges. All products being returned to Reliance Controls must have an RGA
number given by Reliance Controls customer service. To request an RGA #, call (800) 439 5745. No returns will be
accepted without an RGA number.
