FCC statement of conformity
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class A
digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to
provide reasonable protection against harmful interference when the equipment is
operated in a commercial environment. This equipment generates, uses, and can
radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the
instruction manual, may cause harmful interference to radio communications.
Operation of this equipment in a residential area is likely to cause harmful
interference in which case the user will be required to correct the interference at his
own expense.
CE declaration of conformity
The device supplied with this Instruction Manual meets the requirements of the
European Directive 89/336/EWG (electromagnetic compatibility). Compliance with
this EC directive has been proven by testing according to the standards
EN 50130-4 (EN 61000-2, -3, -4, -5, -6 and -11) for noise immunity and EN 55022
Class A for emitted interference.

1 INSTALLATION
The SISTORE AX4 is designed to work a variety of other equipment. The basic system
will consist of a video camera and system monitor. Refer to the User’s Manual CD (see
directory: Documentation) for details of installing each type of equipment.

Step 1:
Video In: Connect cameras (up to 4) to camera BNC inputs. If looping is required,
connect camera out to second source (second BNC).
Step 2:
Video Out, SVHS Out and VGA Out: Connect a monitor to a composite video output for
multi-screen display and playback. Connect a monitor to SVHS output or connect an
RGB monitor to the VGA connector if needed.
Step 3:
Power Connector: Apply power to the unit.

2 OPERATION
2.1 Turning on the Power
The SISTORE AX4 is operational in approximately 60 seconds after the power cable is
connected to the system. The Power LED on the front panel will turn ON, and this
action signifies the system has been turned on properly. The SISTORE AX4 may be
powered down by unplugging the power cord at the rear of the system. No on/off switch
is provided.

Display Modes
Press the desired camera number button to view the desired camera image, and press
the QUAD/SEQ button repeatedly to toggle between 2 x 2 screen and sequence display
modes.
Recording
Once you have installed the system following the instructions described in the User’s
Manual, it is ready to record. There is no recording button on the front panel to initiate
recording video. The SISTORE AX4 will start recording video according to the schedule
configured by the user and from external and internal events such as alarm input or
motion detection events.
2.2 Playback Commands
Press the Menu button in the playback mode to enable a menu-driven search function
(detailed further in User’s Manual).
Play and Fast Forwards: Press the button to play the images forward at
regular speed. Subsequent selection of the button toggles the / /
forward play speed.
Rewind and Fast Backwards: Press the button to play the images backward at
the regular speed. Subsequent selection of the button toggles the / /
backward play speed.
Pause: Press the button to stop playback and display the still image.
Next: Press the button after pressing the Pause button to move to the next
image.
Previous: Press the button after pressing the Pause button to move to the
previous image.

2.3 Front Panel Buttons and LEDs
2.3.1 Buttons
CAMERA (1-4) Displays corresponding camera image, and enters password.
QUAD/SEQ Switches between 2 x 2 screen mode and sequence mode. Also loads a
Preset View in the PTZ mode.
ARROW Moves the cursor in the setup dialog boxes, plays, fast forwards and
reviews in the playback mode, and Controls pan and tilt in the PTZ mode.
ENTER Selects an item in the setup dialog boxes, enters to or exits from edit
mode in the setup dialog boxes, and Pauses in the playback mode.
MENU Displays the menu dialog box, and displays the search menu in the
playback mode. Also loads the PTZ menu in the PTZ mode.
PTZ Opens a Pan/Tilt/Zoom screen which allows you to control properly
configured cameras
PANIC Activates panic recording, so the DVR will record video regardless of the
time-lapse or event recording schedule
2.3.2 LEDs
POWER Illuminates when the system is on.
NETWORK Illuminates when the system is networked either via Ethernet or modem.
BACKUP Illuminates when data is being backed up on the USB backup device.
CAMERA (1-4) Illuminates when corresponding camera image is displayed.
MENU Illuminates when the system is in the setup mode.
QUAD/SEQ Illuminates when the system is in the sequence mode.
PTZ Illuminates when the system is in the PTZ mode.
PANIC Illuminates when the system is in the panic recording mode.

2.4 System Setup
The front panel buttons are used to enter system commands and for programming.
Press MENU button on the front panel and enter the password (default: 4321) using
camera buttons (1-4). As well as the Normal Setup, the SISTORE AX4 also supports
the Quick Setup for system programming. The factory default is the Quick Setup. Refer
to User’s Manual for the setup instructions in detail.
