1 Safety and
usage instructions
1.1 General safety notes
Carefully read the operating manual before com-
missioning the units for the first time. It contains
useful tips and notes such as hazard warnings to
prevent personal injury and material damage.
Failure to follow the directions in this manual not
only presents a danger to people, the environment
and the system itself, but will void any claims for
liability.
Keep this operating manual and the refrigerant
data sheet near to the units.
1.2 Identification of notes
This section provides an overview of all important
safety aspects for proper protection of people and
safe and fault-free operation.The instructions and
safety notes contained within this manual must be
observed in order to prevent accidents, personal
injury and material damage.
Notes attached directly to the units must be
observed in their entirety and be kept in a fully
legible condition.
Safety notes in this manual are indicated by sym-
bols. Safety notes are introduced with signal words
which help to highlight the magnitude of the danger
in question.

to the insulation or individual components may

1.3 Personnel qualifications
Personnel responsible for commissioning, opera-
tion, maintenance, inspection and installation must
be able to demonstrate that they hold a qualifica-
tion which proves their ability to undertake the
work.
1.4 Dangers of failure to observe
the safety notes
Failure to observe the safety notes may pose a risk
to people, the environment and the units. Failure to
observe the safety notes may void any claims for
damages.
In particular, failure to observe the safety notes
may pose the following risks:
nThe failure of important unit functions.
nThe failure of prescribed methods of mainte-
nance and repair.
nDanger to people on account of electrical and
mechanical effects.
1.5 Safety-conscious working
The safety notes contained in this manual, the
existing national regulations concerning accident
prevention as well as any internal company
working, operating and safety regulations must be
observed.

1.6 Safety notes for the operator
The operational safety of the units and compo-
nents is only assured providing they are used as
intended and in a fully assembled state.
nThe units and components may only be set up,
installed and maintained by qualified per-
sonnel.
nProtective covers (grille) over moving parts
must not be removed from units that are in
operation.
nDo not operate units or components with
obvious defects or signs of damage.
nContact with certain unit parts or components
may lead to burns or injury.
nThe units and components must not be
exposed to any mechanical load, extreme
levels of humidity or extreme temperature.
nSpaces in which refrigerant can leak sufficient
to load and vent. Otherwise there is danger of
suffocation.
nAll housing parts and device openings, e.g. air
inlets and outlets, must be free from foreign
objects, fluids or gases.
nThe units must be inspected by a service tech-
nician at least once annually. Visual inspec-
tions and cleaning may be performed by the
operator when the units are disconnected from
the mains.
1.7 Safety notes for installation,
maintenance and inspection
nAppropriate hazard prevention measures must
be taken to prevent risks to people when per-
forming installation, repair, maintenance or
cleaning work on the units.
nThe setup, connection and operation of the
units and its components must be undertaken
in accordance with the usage and operating
conditions stipulated in this manual and comply
with all applicable regional regulations.
nLocal regulations and laws such as Water
Ecology Act must be observed.
nThe power supply should be adapted to the
requirements of the units.
nUnits may only be mounted at the points pro-
vided for this purpose at the factory. The units
may only be secured or mounted on stable
structures, walls or floors.
nMobile units must be set up securely on suit-
able surfaces and in an upright position. Sta-
tionary units must be permanently installed for
operation.
nThe units and components should not be oper-
ated in areas where there is a heightened risk
of damage. Observe the minimum clearances.
nThe units and components must be kept at an
adequate distance from flammable, explosive,
combustible, abrasive and dirty areas or
atmospheres.
nSafety devices must not be altered or
bypassed.
1.8 Unauthorised modification
and changes
Modifications or changes to units and components
are not permitted and may cause malfunctions.
Safety devices may not be modified or bypassed.
Original replacement parts and accessories
authorised by the manufactured ensure safety. The
use of other parts may invalidate liability for
resulting consequences.
1.9 Intended use
The purpose of the unit is to allow for operation of
the unit series RVD DC, RVT DC, RXT DC, MXD,
MXT, MVD and MVW from a remote location.
Any different or additional use is a non-intended
use. The manufacturer/supplier assumes no lia-
bility for damages arising from non-intended use.
The user bears the sole risk in such cases.
Intended use also includes working in accordance
with the operating and installation instructions and
complying with the maintenance requirements.
The threshold values specified in the technical
data must not be exceeded.
1.10 Warranty
For warranty claims to be considered, it is essential
that the ordering party or its representative com-
plete and return the "certificate of warranty" to
REMKO GmbH & Co. KG at the time when the
units are purchased and commissioned.
The warranty conditions are detailed in the "Gen-
eral business and delivery conditions". Further-
more, only the parties to a contract can conclude
special agreements beyond these conditions. In
this case, contact your contractual partner in the
first instance.

1.11 Transport and packaging
The devices are supplied in a sturdy shipping con-
tainer. Please check the equipment immediately
upon delivery and note any damage or missing
parts on the delivery and inform the shipper and
your contractual partner. For later complaints can
not be guaranteed.

Plastic films and bags etc. are dangerous
toys for children!

children!
1.12 Environmental protection
and recycling
Disposal of packaging
All products are packed for transport in environ-
mentally friendly materials. Make a valuable contri-
bution to reducing waste and sustaining raw mate-
rials. Only dispose of packaging at approved
collection points.
Disposal of equipment and components
Only recyclable materials are used in the manufac-
ture of the devices and components. Help protect
the environment by ensuring that the devices or
components (for example batteries) are not dis-
posed in household waste, but only in accordance
with local regulations and in an environmentally
safe manner, e.g. using certified firms and recy-
cling specialists or at collection points.

3 Description
The purpose of the cabled remote control is to
allow for operation of the MVD, MVW and MXV
unit series from a remote location.
The controller can be used as a wall-mounted
single-room controller.

4 Operation
It is operated by the touch fields on the lower area
of the remote control. Information and settings are
shown on the display. If no entry is made for 30
seconds, the backlight is deactivated. The back-
light is reactivated by pressing any touch field
again.

The remote control is operated using the relevant

"ON/OFF" key
This key switches the connected indoor unit on or
off.

“Back arrow” key
By pressing this key, a selected function can be
deactivated.

“Enter” key
This key is used to activate functions and confirm
settings.

“Arrow up” key
This key is used to increase the desired setpoint.
The key is also used to navigate between functions
and adjust settings.

“Arrow down” key
This key is used to decrease the desired setpoint.
The key is also used to navigate between functions
and adjust settings.

“Function” key
By pressing this key it is possible to switch
between the functions. Alternatively, it is possible
to switch between the individual functions by
pressing the function key once with the arrow keys.

“Mode” key
With this key it is possible to select between the
Cooling, Heating, Dehumidification and Recircula-
tion operating modes.

“Fan” key
By pressing this key, up to seven fan speeds and
automatic fan control can be selected. The auto-
matic fan adjusts the fan speed automatically to
achieve the best compromise between perform-
ance and comfort.

“Swing fin” key
With this key the air outlet fins can be set to a fixed
position or oscillating.

Mode
The selected room air conditioning mode is shown
at the top of the display.

Fan stage
The current fan speed is indicated here by bars. If
the automatic fan is activated, the “Auto” symbol is
displayed.

Operating status
If the fan wheel is stationary on the display, the unit
is deactivated. A rotating fan wheel indicates active
unit operation.

Unit display
If this symbol appears on the display, the LEDs
and the display on the unit are activated. If the unit
display is deactivated, the symbol on the display
goes out.

Quiet mode If this symbol appears on the dis-
play, Quiet mode is activated. If Quiet mode is
deactivated, the symbol on the display goes out.

Energy saving function
If this symbol appears on the display, the energy
saving function is activated. If the energy saving
function is deactivated, the symbol on the display
goes out.

Auxiliary heater (not fitted)
If the connected indoor unit is equipped with an
additional auxiliary heater, this symbol is displayed
in the activated state.

Follow me
If this symbol is shown on the display, the room
temperature is regulated on the cabled remote
control instead of on the indoor unit for control pur-
poses

Digital display
The digital display shows the set room target tem-
perature on the main screen and is also used to
display settings and setting values in the Service
menu.

Switch-on delay
This text is displayed when the switch-on delay is
set or activated.

Switch-off delay
This text is displayed when the switch-off delay is
set or activated.

Digital timer display
The digital display for the timer is displayed in com-
bination with the display for the switch-on or
switch-off delay and shows the remaining time until
activation or deactivation after successful setting.

External block
This symbol is displayed if some functions of the
cabled remote control are disabled by a higher-
level controller (e.g. MCC1).

Air filter cleaning
This symbol is displayed when a certain number of
operating hours has been reached and filter
cleaning is to be carried out.

Swing fins
The arrow on the symbol indicates the currently set
angle of the air outlet fin. If an arrow is displayed at
all positions, the oscillating swing function is acti-
vated.

The cabled remote control and the connected units
can be activated and deactivated by pressing the
“On/Off” key. If the cabled remote control is acti-
vated, the fan symbol rotates and the LED under
the “On/Off” key lights up green.
Setting the operating mode
The operating mode can be set by pressing the
mode key. Each time the key is pressed, the
remote control switches between the Cooling,
Heating, Dehumidification and Recirculation
modes.

1. Cooling mode:
In cooling mode, the air in the room is cooled to
the set target temperature. If the room temperature
is above the desired temperature, the indoor unit
starts to cool the air in the room. If the temperature
falls to approx. 0.5 °C below the set room tempera-
ture, the regulation will switch off cooling mode.
We recommend setting the target temperature to
max. 6 °C below the outside temperature.
2. Dehumidification mode:
In Dehumidification mode, the setpoint tempera-
ture and the fin position can be set. It is not pos-
sible to set the fan speed. The fan is switched off
at certain intervals to lower the fin temperature.
The cooling register cools the air below its dew-
point due to the low medium temperature - this
results in the airborne humidity being condensed
out. This reduces the moisture content of the room
air.
3. Heating mode:
In heating mode, the room air is heated to the pre-
determined setpoint. If the room temperature is
below the desired temperature, the indoor unit
starts to heat the room air. The fan only starts up
once the fin temperature has reached 38 °C. If the
actual temperature rises above the set room tem-
perature, the regulation switches the valve off. If
the fin temperature falls below 38°C, the fan
switches off.
4. Circulated air mode:
In this mode, the unit is used as an air circulation
unit. It is not possible to set a target temperature.
The room is neither heated nor cooled. This mode
allows the heat trapped under the ceiling to be cir-
culated to the lower regions of the room in winter.
When selecting the operating mode, make sure
that all indoor units connected to an outdoor
unit are operated either in Heating mode or in
Cooling and Dehumidification modes so that no
mode conflicts occur. Recirculation mode can
always be selected independently of the other
indoor units.

Adjusting the target temperature

In the Cooling, Dehumidification and Heating oper-
ating modes, the target temperature can be set
using the “Up arrow” and “Down arrow” keys. The
standard setting range is between 17 °C and 30 °C
and can be limited in the Service menu.
Setting the fan speed
The fan speed can be set in the Cooling, Heating
and Recirculation operating modes by pressing the
fan key. Each time the key is pressed, the remote
control switches between the seven speeds and
the automatic fan. The automatic fan adjusts the
fan speed automatically to always achieve the best
compromise between performance and comfort.

Adjusting the air outlet fins
The positioning of the fins can be adjusted with the
“Swing fin” key. Five angles and an automatic
mode are available, in which the air outlet fin oscil-
lates. In Automatic mode, the air outlet fin can be
stopped at the current position by pressing the
Swing fin key again.

After a certain number of operating hours has
elapsed, the unit displays a message regarding
filter cleaning. After the filter has been cleaned, the
message can be reset by holding down the “Swing
function” key for 5 seconds.
In the Service menu, the message can be deacti-
vated or the time interval can be set.

Activating and deactivating functions
On the cabled remote control, certain functions are
available to the user depending on the operating
mode. The functions can be called up and
changed with the “Function” key. Alternatively, it is
possible to navigate through the functions using
the arrow keys after pressing the function key
once. After selecting a function, it can be activated
with the “Enter” key or deactivated with the “Back
arrow” key. When a function is activated, the corre-
sponding symbol appears at the bottom of the
screen.
The following functions are available:

Switch-on/switch-off delay
The switch-on delay can only be selected when the
unit is switched off. After pressing the function key
once, “Timer On” appears on the display and the
switch-on delay can be selected with the Enter key.
Now the digital display for the timer flashes and the
time until activation can be set in 0.5 hour steps
with the arrow keys. The settings are then saved
by pressing the Enter key again.
The switch-off delay can only be selected when the
unit is switched on. After pressing the function key
once, “Timer Off” appears on the display and the
switch-off delay can be selected with the Enter key.
Now the digital display for the timer flashes and the
time until deactivation can be set in 0.5 hour steps
with the arrow keys. The settings are then saved
by pressing the Enter key again.

Unit display
This function can be used to activate and deacti-
vate the display and the LEDs on the connected
indoor unit.

Quiet mode
In quiet mode, the compressor runs at a lower fre-
quency, and the indoor unit fan rotates at a slower
speed. This provides particularly quiet unit opera-
tion.
After 8 hours of unit operation, quiet mode is auto-
matically deactivated.
Quiet mode and the energy saving function cannot
be activated at the same time.

Energy saving function
If the energy saving function is activated in cooling
mode, the fan speed is set to automatic and the
temperature setpoint to 26 °C. In heating mode,
the fan also works in automatic mode, however the
setpoint does not change.
After 8 hours of unit operation, the energy saving
function is automatically deactivated.
The energy saving function and Quiet mode
cannot be activated at the same time.

Auxiliary heater (not fitted)
Switches on the electrical heating resistor in
heating mode (if fitted).
Service menu
The Service menu can be called up by pressing
the “Mode” and “Functions” keys simultaneously
for five seconds. Use the arrow keys to switch
between the parameters. With the “Enter” key a
desired parameter can be selected and adjusted
with the arrow keys. Once the desired setting has
been made, it can be saved by pressing the Enter
key. The “Back arrow” key is used to return to the
previous level or the home screen.

5 Assembly instructions
for qualified personnel
Check the contents of the packaging for complete-
ness and check the unit for visible transport
damage. Immediately notify your contract partner
of any deficiencies.
DANGER!
All electrical installation work is to be performed
by specialist companies. Disconnect the power
supply when connecting the electrical terminals.
Check all plugged and clamped terminals to
verify that they are seated correctly and make
permanent contact. Tighten as required.

6 Installation
1. Disconnect the power supply.
2. Connect the 2-core cable to the terminals on
the rear side as shown in the wiring diagram.
3. Install the room temperature regulation on
the wall.
4. Choose an installation location that is guar-
anteed good air circulation and is not
affected by any sources of heat or cold.
5. Make the connections in accordance with the
electrical circuit diagram. Electric connec-
tions must be carried out as fixed connec-
tions in accordance with the applicable regu-
lations!
6. Check the terminal points for stability.
