2. Using the REMOVU R1
Charging the Battery
*The battery should be fully charged before using R1 the first time.

Connect the device to a computer
USBport using the micro USBcable
included in the package.

Turning Your Device On and OFF
Turning it on
1.
PresstheM(Mode/Power)buttonforabout1
secondtoturnonthepower.
2.
TheREMOVUlogowillappear.Aftershortload-
ing, Wi-Fi network list will pop up.
Turning it off
1.
Press the M (Mode
/
Power) button for about 2
secondstoturnoffthedevice.REMOVUPoweroff
logo will appear then the device will be turned off
with the red LED blinking three times.
2.
If noinput is made for 30 seconds in the LiveView
Mode, the screen will shut off to save power.

Connecting your GoPro HERO3, 3+ to REMOVU
1.
Please go tothe GoPro App settings menu on

HERO3,3+toturnonthe Wi-Fifunction.
2.
Turnon yourREMOVUR1.

WhentheSelectCameraNetworkScreenap-
pears,selectyourGoPro’sSSIDwhichyouhave
created.
4.
Pleasetypethepassword and pressenter.
5.
Youwill see Blue LED light when the connection
issuccessfullyestablished.

How to connect -
GoPro HERO4
HERO4 Wi-Fi SSID, and Password setup
1.
Install the GoPro App on your Smartphone.
2.
GotoyourGoPro4Setup→Wireless→select
GoPro App. 6 digit Pin number will appear.
3.
Open theGoProAppandconnectyourGoPro
Camera.
4.
Enter the 6 digit Pin number that the GoPro Cam-
eraisshowing.
5.
Create the SSID, and Password for your Camera.
6.
After the connection is established, shut down
the App.
Connecting your GoPro HERO4 to REMOVU
1.
TurnonyourHERO4cameraand goto HERO4
Setup →RC & App →Select Existingto turn on
the Wi-Fi function.
2.
Turnon your REMOVU.
3.
Select the SSID you generated from the Select
Camera Network list.
4.
Enter the password you created.
5.
The Blue LED will turn on when the connection
getestablishedsuccessfully.

Wi-FiConnection:ConnectionFailure/Reconnect
1.
Flashing redLED and Wi-Fi Network Not Connect-
ed message will appear if Wi-Fi fails to connect or
loseitssignal.
2.
Type in your password again and try reconnect-
ing the device.
3.
If the connection is restored, blue LED will flash
and the Live View will appear.
4.
Whenreusingthedevice,R1willtrytoconnecttolastdeviceitwasconnectedto
usingtheinformationsavedfromprevioususe.
5.
Switching between different cameras can be done in the Settings mode →Camera
Network menu. Please choose the camera you wish to switch to.
ControllingGoPro (PowerOn / Off)
PowerOn
Press and hold the Back button for about 2 seconds
to turn on the GoPro. The Live view will be dis-
playedsoon afterthe StartingLiveView message
appears.
Power Off
PressandholdtheBackbuttonforabout2seconds
toturnofftheGoPro.
Note:BecauseofGoProcamera’sprotocol,the connection between REM-
OVU and GoPro may getdisconnectedwhen eitherdevicesare turned
off. This function will not be available when the connection is lost.

4. TroubleShootingGuide and Tips
1. If“No firmwaretoupdate”messageappearsafterfirmwareupdate,
Solution:
Connect your device to a PC and delete all files stored inthe storage.
Then copy and paste the firmware files including the .bin extension firmware file
to the memory and reboot.
2.
If “Low firmware versions”message appears after firmware update,

Solution:
Connect your device to a PC and delete all files in the storage. Reboot to
check the version of the firmware.
Delete files -> Reboot
3.
If you can’t see your camera on the camera network list,
Solution:
Inorderto establish Wi-Ficonnection betweenR1andGoPro,the GoPro
needstohaveitsSSID.TheSSIDcanbegeneratedthroughtheGoProApp.Before
usingwithR1,pleaseestablishconnectionbetweenGoProHERO4andGoProApp
togeneratetheSSID.
Go to Page 6 and 7 for Wi-Fi configuration.

4.
If the display gets darker or backlight goes off,
Solution:
It means that the battery is running low, so please recharge the device.
5.
Ifyour device freezes while using,
Solution:
Press the reset button located next to the charging port. If the problem
persists, please contact customer support.

If the device does not boot, or shuts down automatically while booting,
Solution:
Please connect your device toyourPC, and have all files deleted in the
storage. If there aren’t any files, please contact customer support.

If the device keeps return to the wi-fi list and does not display the live view of
the camera,

Solution:
It can only be solved by factory resetting. Please fill out the RMA sheet and
request for replacement.

If the REMOVU freezesat REMOVU logo,
Solution:
It can only be solved by factory resetting the device. Please fill out the RMA
sheet and request the replacement.

If you want to delete the saved camera information
Solution:
The function is not yet available at this time. Only factory resetting can
delete the history.
10.
If you want to come out from the password enter screen,
Solution:
Press the REC buttons for about 3 seconds to come out from the screen
to menu screen.
Push for 3 seconds

If the device keeps lose its connection,
Solution:
The signal strength is depended on the GoPro Camera. So please check
the condition of the camera, and also check for firmware updates of GoPro to keep
the camera up to date.

6. Warranty Information
Standard Limited Warranty
Essel-tCo.,LTD.(“essel-t”) warrantsthatessel-t’sdevicesandaccessories(“Products”)
are free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service for
the period commencing upon the date of purchase by the first consumer purchaser
and continuing for 18 months period of time after that date.
EXCLUSIONSANDLIMITATIONS
This Limited Warranty is conditioned upon proper use of Product by Purchaser. This
Limited Warranty does not cover:
(a)
Defects or damage resulting from accident, misuse, abnormal use, abnormal
conditions, improper storage, exposure to liquid, moisture, dampness, sand or
dirt,
neglect, or unusual physical, electrical or electromechanical stress;
(b)
Scratches,dentsandcosmeticdamage,unlesscausedbyessel-t;
(c)
Defectsor damage resulting from excessive force or use of a metallic object when
pressingon a touch screen;
(d)
Equipment that has the serial number or the enhancement data code removed,
defaced, damaged, altered or made illegible;
(e)
Ordinary wear and tear;
(f)DefectsordamageresultingfromtheuseofProductinconjunctionorconnection
withaccessories,products,orancillary/peripheralequipmentnotfurnishedor
approved byessel-t;
(g)
Defects or damage resulting from improper testing, operation, maintenance,
installation, service, or adjustment not furnished or approved by essel-t;
(h)
Defectsor damage resulting from external causes such as collision with an object,
fire, flooding, dirt, windstorm, lightning, earthquake, exposure to weather condi-
tions, theft, blown fuse, or improper use of any electrical source;
( i ) The battery has been charged by a battery charger not specified or approved by
essel-t for charging the battery;

RMA Procedures
1. Please fill out the RMA request sheet provided with your guide.
2.
Make sure to fill out all the information requested. (Product Serial Number,
Symptoms, Date returned, date sold, and etc.)
3.
Send the list on the first business day of the month, or before making your
purchase order.
4.
After RMA requests confirmed,
the return shipping of the defects will be
processed.
5.
The replacement goods will be shipped out with the next PO shipment. (In
case of emergency, the schedule can be adjusted per request.)
