1. Preparation of the bathing and shower stretcher for use
1.1 Delivery
On receiving the product, please check it for completeness, lack of faults and check
it for any transport damage.
Inspect the goods in the presence of your forwarder.
Should transport damage have occurred, please arrange for an inventory (deter-
mination of the faults) to be made in the presence of the forwarder. Please send a
complaint in writing to the specialist dealer responsible.
1.2 Safety measures prior to use
Correct usage of the bathing and shower stretcher requires precise and careful
training of the accompanying person. We ask you to read through the Instructions
for use carefully prior to initial commissioning of the bathing and shower stretcher,
and to observe them.
Cushioned parts may become warm when exposed to direct sunlight. Cover these
parts or protect the equipment from direct sunlight.
1.3 Safe disposal
In order to preserve and protect the environment, to prevent environmental polluti-
on and to improve the recycling of raw materials, please note the disposal instruc-
tions in points 1.3.1 and 1.3.2.
1.3.1 Packaging
The product packaging should be stored in case the product needs to be transpor-
ted again. Should you have to return the product for repairs or in case of a gua-
rantee claim, please if possible use the original box so that the product is optimally
packaged.
Separate the packaging materials for recycling according to their classication. Do
not leave packaging materials unattended, as they are a possible source of danger.
1.3.2 Product
Separate the raw materials used in the product for recycling according to their
classication (see material information under 2.1).
1.4 Where to store the Instructions for use
Please store these Instructions for use carefully and ensure that these Instructions
for use remain with the product in case of re-use.

2. Product description
2.1 Material information
The bathing and shower stretcher Rifton Wave is produced from UV-resistant PVC
pipe and Nylon fabric. All metal parts are produced from rustproof steel. The straps
are sewn from Nylon hook and eye tape. The bathing stretcher sub-frame consists
of UV-resistant PVC pipe. All metal parts are produced from rustproof steel. All
articles are latex-free.
2.2 Handling / transport
The bathing stretcher is not to be used to carry people. Should you have to carry
the equipment due to obstacles, ensure that all moving parts are tightened. In order
to guarantee secure lifting, you must hold the bathing stretcher with both hands
at the right and left sides of the plastic cladding. In order to transport the bathing
stretcher, reduce all adjustments to their most compact size (fold up backrest, set
seat angle to lowest height etc.)
2.3 Application areas, use according to the intended purpose
The bathing and shower stretcher Rifton Wave is exclusively suitable for use in
baths, showers, in the sandpit and on the beach.
It supports children and teenagers who cannot sit without assistance, and provides
additional support through holding straps. Any other use or use over and above this
purpose shall be considered not in accordance with the intended purpose.

CAUTION!
2.4 Use not in accordance with the intended purpose / warning guidelines
• Ensure that the bathing and shower stretcher is only used by one child/teenager.
• Never leave the child unattended on the bathing and shower stretcher.
• Correct usage of the bathing and shower stretcher requires precise and careful
training of the accompanying person.
• The max. load of 34 kg for size 1, 68 kg for size 2 and 86 kg for size 3 may not
be exceeded.
• Do not use the bathing and shower stretcher if it has defective, worn or missing
parts.
• For reasons of re safety, the bathing and shower stretcher may not be placed
close to an open re or any other strong source of heat such as electric or gas
heaters.
• Only use accessories and spare parts made by Schuchmann, otherwise you will
endanger the child.
• Only use the bathing and shower stretcher if all components have been correctly
mounted and adjusted.
• The bathing and shower stretcher may not be used to transport people.
• Please ensure that none of the user's extremities are in the respective area when
making adjustments to avoid the risk of injury.
• Please read out the Instructions for use for users suffering from a visual or rea-
ding impairment, so that they can use the bathing stretcher safely.

3. General settings
The bathing and shower stretcher Rifton Wave provides support during bathing in
baths or other bathing environments. The seat, the back and the calf support are
adjustable. Rifton Wave is available in three sizes. All the different bathing stretcher
sizes t onto the shower sub-frame (A), the bath sub-frame (B) and the transfer
sub-frame (C).
3.1 Backrest
For the adjustment of the back angle, the handle
(D) must be pulled upwards. Now the back can
be adjusted to the required position. D
Settings and adjustments to the product or accessories may only be made by peo-
ple who have been given the necessary instructions by a medical product advisor.
Please ensure that none of the operator's or user's extremities are in the respective
area when making adjustments to avoid the risk of injury.

3.2 Seat angle
In order to adjust the seat angle, the two grey
triggers (A) must be pulled forward simultaneous-
ly and the seat can be adjusted to the required
position. The seat must engage audibly. A

3.3 Calf angle
In order to adjust the angle of the calf support,
the two grey triggers (B) must be pressed in. Now
the calf support can be adjusted to the required
position. The calf support must engage audibly.

3.6 Standing legs
In order to adjust the standing legs, pull the cross-
connectors (D) forwards or downwards; bring the
standing legs into the required position and press
these back or upwards to lock. D
3.4 Headrest / torso support
The position of the headrest / torso support (A)
can quickly and easily be continuously adjusted
to the required position. The width can be adjus-
ted by moving the respective guide.
3.5 Chest, pelvic and leg straps
The position of the chest strap /pelvic harness (B)
can quickly and easily be continuously adjusted
to the required position.
The position of the leg straps (C) is also adjusted
as described above.

4.1.1 Adjustment of the standing legs
The standing legs of the bath sub-frame are adjusted in the same way as the ba-
thing stretcher standing legs (see Point 3.6).
Prior to use, please ensure that all four legs on the bathing stretcher
are rmly secured on the sub-frame!
4.1 Mounting the bathing stretcher on the
bath sub-frame
Put the bathing stretcher feet into maximum up-
right position (see Point 3.6). Then press the ba-
thing stretcher feet rmly into the adaptors (A) of
the sub-frame until they engage (A).
In order to remove the bathing stretcher, press
the grey levers (B) down one after the other as
shown and lift the bathing stretcher.

4. Accessories
4.2 Mounting the bathing stretcher on the
shower sub-frame
Press the feet of the bathing stretcher into the
opening (C) of the sub-frame until they engage.
In order to remove the bathing stretcher, press
the grey levers (D) down one after the other and
lift the bathing stretcher.
Prior to use, please ensure that all four
legs on the bathing stretcher are rm-
ly secured on the sub-frame!

4.3 Mounting the bathing stretcher onto the
transfer sub-frame
Press the grey aps (A) together and raise the
legs upright until they engage audibly.
Then bring the standing legs of the bathing stret-
cher into a completely at position (see Point 3.6)
and hook the bathing stretcher under the hook
(B). Press the bathing stretcher down until it en-
gages audibly under the grey hook (C).
The transfer sub-frame can be adjusted in height.
To do this, simply press the button (D) into the
hole pattern on the standing leg and allow it to
click out again at the required hole pattern posi-
tion. Repeat this adjustment on all four standing
legs.

4.3.1 Transfers with the transfer sub-frame
Press the grey button (E) and turn the bathing
stretcher towards you.
Pull the transfer sub-frame forward to the inner
edge of the bath and lock the wheel brakes (F)
(see Point 4.4.) Position the user on the bathing
stretcher. Loosen the wheel brakes (F) and turn
the bathing stretcher with the user, whilst you lift
their legs into the bath by pressing the grey but-
ton (E). Push the transfer sub-frame with the user
into the bath. Lock the wheel brakes (F) again.

4.3.2 Swivel movement of the transfer sub-
frame from right to left (or vice versa)
The transfer sub-frame can be swivelled either
to the left or to the right. In order to change the
respective direction of swivel, remove the screws
(A). Remove the two plastic slides (B) and the
plastic plug (C) and lift up the upper platform. The
upper platform is easier to remove from the rear.
Remove the plastic stop (D) from the groove. You
may require a screwdriver or another tool to do
this.
Insert the plastic stop (D) into the other end of
the same groove. Push the slide (E) in right up
to the stop.
Reinsert the upper platform you just removed.
The slide (E) should now project out of the oppo-
site recess.
Reinsert the two screws (A) with the delivered
tool and tighten them. Press the plastic slides (B)
into the holes.
Now you can swivel the transfer sub-frame in the
required direction.
Depending on whether you wish to
swivel the device from right to left or
from left to right, the adjustment must
be undertaken in the opposite order.

4.4 Operation of the guide wheels

5.4 Duration of use and re-use
The expected duration of use of our product, dependent on the usage intensity
and amount of re-use, totals up to "8" years, providing the usage takes place in
accordance with the information in these Instructions for use. It may be possible
to use the product over and above this time period if it is in a safe condition. The
expected duration of use does not refer to wear parts, such as for example covers,
wheels……
The maintenance and evaluation of the condition, and if applicable the potential for
re-use, must be decided by the specialist trader. The bathing stretcher is suitable
for re-use. Prior to forwarding on, please follow the cleaning and disinfection inst-
ructions in Chapter 5. Accompanying documents such as these Instructions for use
are part of the product and must be passed on to the new user. No disassembly is
required prior to re-use. In the case of storage, it is recommended to fold the pro-
duct to the smallest dimension to save space.
5. Repairs and cleaning
5.1 Cleaning
Please clean all frame elements with a sponge or damp cloth.
The covers can be removed and washed at 40° in the washing machine; do not spin!
Please do not dry the cover in a dryer and do not use aggressive cleaning agents
or similar products. Please also pay attention to our general cleaning and hygiene

5.3 Spare parts
Should you wish to order spare parts, please contact the specialist dealer who sup-
plied you with the bathing stretcher, stating the serial number (see 8.5). Necessary
spare parts and accessories must only be installed by trained personnel.
5.2 Repairs
Please carry out a daily visual inspection and check the bathing stretcher regularly
for cracks, breaks, missing parts and malfunctions.
In case of a defect or malfunction, please contact the specialist dealer who supplied
you with the product (see 8.5).

7. Guarantee
The two-year statutory guarantee period shall apply for all products. This guarantee
period shall begin with the delivery or handover of the goods. Should a veriable
material or manufacturing fault occur within this time period, we shall, after carriage
paid return to us, view the indicated damage and, if applicable, either repair or de-
liver a new product at our discretion.
