.3 Product Overview
This fo r-channel, high-definition Digital Video Recorder is designed for mobile video
s rveillance. It is totally solid-state for reliability—recording high-q ality video to d al SD
Cards, each with a capacity of p to 128 GB. Appropriate for all mobile environments, when
installed as designated herein.

2.0 Basic Functions
2. Audio/Video Compression Formats
The CLARITY 4 adopts the latest ISO14496-10 (H.264) video compression technology,
with a high compression rate to ens re optimal image q ality, while cons ming minimal
storage space. The a dio system ses G711 compression for low-distortion, q ality a dio.
2.2 Audio/Video Recording Mode
Compression Format Special encrypted files for sec rity and chain of c stody.
Compression Stream 8 Levels, adj stable from 192kbps to 2.0Mbps/channel.
Storage D al 128GB SD Cards. One-time or recycle recording modes.
2.3 Image Quality/Rate
Resol tion 720P, 1280*720/Channel in record/playback/monitoring.
Rate Maxim m of 30 fps/Channel, total 120 fps.
Monitoring Greater than 270TVL/Channel.
2.4 Total Resources
Recording Fo r channels @ 720p, 1280*720 each.
Playback Fo r channels @ 720p, 1280*720 each.
2.5 Audio/Video Synchronous Recording
Records and plays A dio/Video/GPS data sim ltaneo sly. Clips and information can be
reviewed on a PC with o r free CMS software.
2.5 Access Detection
Altho gh video-based motion detection is available, it is more appropriate for fixed locations,
rather than mobile environments, where there can be constant backgro nd motion.
2.6 Signal Loss Detection and Alarm (3G/4G Equipped Models)
If the video signal is lost, the system will send an alarm signal via the internet (with 3G-
eq ipped systems). Response time is less than 5 seconds, and incl des system log
information.
NOTE: This f nction will not work if a channel is not in record mode, or if a channel is displaying in
f ll-screen mode.

2.7 Alarm Linkage
S pports 4-channel alarm inp ts, req iring 4-36DC voltage to trigger. 1-channel alarm,
sing an open-contact, form-c relay (Maxim m c rrent 500ma in on-state). When an alarm
has been triggered, recording will start a tomatically for an adj stable d ration of 30-330
seconds. The relay will close for a d ration of 5-900 seconds. Response time is less than 1s.
2.8 Alarm Pre-recording
In Alarm-video mode, the system will pre-record more than 5 seconds of Video/A dio/GPS
data.
2.9 Full Duplex Operation
The system is capable of recording and playback sim ltaneo sly with no frame loss.
2. 0 System Watchdog (Malfunction) Alarm
If recording is interr pted, the alarm relay will activate for a minim m of 6 min tes.
2. Self-test and Self-Recovery
When in operational stat s, the RUN indicator will constantly flash, to indicate that the
system is self-analyzing. In the event of a problem, the system will a to-recover from the
fa lt within a maxim m of six min tes.
2. 2 External Device Control
The CLARITY 4 can control PTZ cameras thro gh b ilt-in protocols (RS-485, PELCO-D or RS-
232 @ 9600 Ba d), 4-channels, real-time, switchable to monitoring mode.
2. 3 Networking
If 3G-eq ipped, the CLARITY 4 can be monitored remotely (req ires yo r SIM card and
carrier. Their data rates may apply).
2. 4 Data Backup
Use yo r comp ter with its SD Card reader and o r free viewing software. The 4-channel
files can be converted to single-channel AVI format to play in standard media players.
Download SD Card data remotely, thro gh the network (if so eq ipped).
2. 5 Security and Data Safety
The CLARITY 4 is password-protected, so that only a thorized personnel can make changes
to the operation parameters. Defa lt password is 6666. Data is stored in a special file
system to ens re that it is encrypted and safe from tampering.
The SD Cards are protected from tampering behind a locking, sliding door on the front panel.

2. 6 Logging System Activity
The CLARITY 4 maintains a history log file that incl des any alarm or malf nction information.
The log file is stored onto the SD Card, and can be reviewed with yo r comp ter.
