About this Manual
This operating manual is valid for NRT power reflection meterswith firmware version 2.21 and sensors
NRT-Z43/44 with firmware version 1.38 or higher.
If sensors with an earlier firmware version are used the modulation correction (see section 2.4.3) and
attenuation correction (see section 2.4.4) are not available. Instead, the parameter list for the video
bandwith setting contains the entry "spread spectrum". The function of this entry is similar to the
modulation correction; for details refer to the sensor manuals.

1 Preparation for Use

1.2 Putting into Operation
The following instructions should be strictly observed, in particular when putting
the instrument into operation the first time, to avoid damage to the instrument
and hazards to persons.
1.2.1 Unpacking
After unpacking the instrument, check for completeness according to the delivery note and the acces-
sory lists for the individual items.
Remove protective covers
Remove the two protective covers from the front and rear of
the NRT and carefully check the instrument for any damage. In
case of any damage you should immediately inform the re-
sponsible transport agent and keep all packing material not to
forfeit your claims.
The original packing should also be used for any later transport or shipment of the NRT. You should
keep at least the two protective covers for the front and rear of the instrument.
1.2.2 Setting Up
The Power Reflection Meter NRT can be operated in any position. With the two tiltable feet the angle of
the instrument can be adjusted.
