Note - in the bag is a glossy booklet with useful tips on recording techniques for various situations.
1. Press and hold Power button until Recording screen ap-
pears.
2. Note battery indicator, bottom right. All white is good!
3. Press Rec button briefly- red surround flashes, and level
bars move in window.
4. Point mics towards sound source.
. Use input level controls to set desired recording sensi-
tivity. Note - controls on rear for AGC and mic sensitiv-
ity.
6. When ready, press Rec button again to start recording.
Ensure red Peak light stays off.
7. When finished, press Stop button.
8. NB a foam pad or bean bag on a table make a good ’dead’ support during recording
to avoid handling or other noises. The Low Cut filter reduces bumps and wind noise.

1. From the Recording screen, press the Finder button
briefly.
2. A list of recordings appears, latest at the bottom - scroll
up and down with the Play/pause and Stop buttons.

3. On the desired file, press Rec to see a menu, with Select at the top. Note option 3,
Delete for future use. Scroll to the desired action, press Rec.
4. For information on Renaming or other options, see the manual.
. To listen to the file, select option 1, press Rec - the ‘record’ screen appears with the
name of the selected file at the top.
6. Plug in headphones or a line level device (mixer, for example).
7. Press Play/pause button, adjust volume with the controls (rhs).
8. When finished press Stop button.
9. To delete a file, scroll to the file, press Rec, scroll to option 3, press Rec. twice.

The batteries, SD memory card and usb socket are reached via a cover at the bottom of the
machine - see first picture.
1. To open the cover, slide the spring loaded ‘switch’ labelled ‘Battery’ to the left, and
simultaneously slide the whole cover downwards towards the rear. It’s a fiddle!
2. The cover will half open, exposing the mini usb socket and the edge of a memory
card.
3. To download, either plug in a usb cable connected to your computer, or remove the
memory card and use an adapter to connect into your computer. ‘Eject’ either when
finished, and disconnect.
4. To change batteries (2 x AA) move the spring loaded switch again, and move the
cover further open to expose them. Beware of polarity when replacing (indicated on
the inside of the cover).
