Verifying the Version
Number
1. Connect the AC adaptor.
2. Hold down act and B1 and set the POWER switch to DC.
The version number is displayed on the LCD screen.
3. Switch off the power.
Data Backup and Restore
Operations
Executing a factory reset, system update, or the Test Mode causes user data
stored in the unit’s memory to be lost. Make a backup beforehand. User data is
of the following three types.
• Control Maps
• System settings
• Keyboard split settings

Items Required
• Computer (Windows XP)
• USB cable
• A-PRO Driver
• A-PRO Editor
* Obtain A-PRO Driver and A-PRO Editor at the web pages shown below, and
install and set them up on the computer described above.

* Refer to page 23 of the owner’s manual, “MIDI Port Assignments,” and make
the setting for the MIDI port for A-PRO Editor.
Backing Up Control Maps
1. Refer to page 31 of the owner’s manual, “Receiving a Control Map from
the A-PRO,” and receive the unit’s Control Map (Control Map number 1)
with A-PRO Editor.
2. Refer to page 32 of the owner’s manual, “Saving a Control Map on Your
Computer,” and save Control Map (1) on the computer as a file.
* Name the saved file so that the Control Map number is obvious.
3. Repeat steps 1and 2to save Control Map numbers 2through 19 in the
same way.
Restoring Control Maps
1. Refer to page 32 of the owner’s manual, “Loading a Control Map that was
Saved on Your Computer,” and import the Control Map backed up on
the computer (Control Map number 1) into A-PRO Editor.
2. Refer to page 31 of the owner’s manual, “Transmitting a Control Map to
the A-PRO,” and send the Control Map in A-PRO Editor (Control Map
number 1) to the unit.
3. Repeat steps 1and 2to send Control Maps 2through 19 to the unit in the
same way.
Backing Up and Restoring
System Settings
System settings cannot be backed up onto external media, and so the
respective setting values need to be written down on paper.
Refer to page 57 of the owner’s manual, “System Settings (EDIT Mode),” and
write down the values, then re-input them into the unit after servicing and
testing have been completed.

Keyboard Settings
Keyboard settings cannot be saved onto external media, so follow the steps
below to write them down on paper.
* Three sets of keyboard settings (Split, Dual, and Lower) are saved in the A-
PRO.
1. In A-PRO Editor, go to the Option menu and click Show Keyboard
Panel.
The Keyboard Set Window appears.
2. At the Keyboard Set Window, select Split, then click the Receive button.
The settings of the A-PRO unit are imported into A-PRO Editor.
3. Write down the values of the imported settings on paper.
4. Carry out steps 2and 3in the same way for Dual and Lower as well.
When servicing and testing have been completed, display the Keyboard Set
Window again, update all written-down setting values for Split, Dual, and
Lower, then click the on-screen Transmit button.
Performing a Factory Reset
1. Press act and at the same time.
2. Turn the VALUE control to select Factory Reset, then press the VALUE
control.
The message SURE? is displayed.
To cancel the factory reset, then at this time, hold down SHIFT and press
KEYBOARD SPLIT.
3. To perform the factory reset, press the VALUE control.
A factory reset is executed.
* Never switch off the power until the message COMPLETE! appears.
