9. Starting Up
Unpack item
Decide where it is to be placed, considering potential risks and hazards in the surrounding
space.
Place on an even floor.
Decide how Bertie Bolster is to be used and position appropriately to support the user.
Help user transfer safely into an appropriate position for use (if appropriate).
Ensure client is supervised using this product at all times.
10. Detailed Description
Bertie Bolster is suitable for children to play and sit on and against, with a bean filling which
moulds to the body. It comprises of different coloured fabrics for visual appeal. He has a cheerful
face to invite interaction.

This item is not a toy, it is a piece of sensory equipment.
For indoor use only.
For 3 years and over.
Bertie Bolster should not be mouthed.
Remove all packaging before use and store or dispose of this appropriately.
Keep and use away from sources of heat e.g. fire, radiators etc

ALWAYS SUPERVISE THE USE OF THIS PRODUCT
Remove all packaging and either store this in a safe place out of reach of clients or dispose of this
responsibly. Plastic bags and wrapping can be hazardous to children and vulnerable people.
This product contains a foam or bead filling. The beads in the bead filling are small parts and
should always remain out of reach. Do not attempt to access the interior part of this product.
Never allow children or vulnerable people to access the interior part of this product.
Should any seams or the zip become damaged, contact ROMPA®immediately to arrange repair or
replacement. Should the product require re-filling, contact ROMPA®immediately to discuss this.
Keep away from sources of heat and fire.

150cm long x approx 32cm diameter
Filling material and covering materials meet requirements for resistance to cigarettes and
matches and cribs ignition as in the 1988 Fire Safety Regulations.
13. Installation
Unpack the product and dispose carefully of packaging materials.
Use the Bertie Bolster according to client need. Decide if the client needs to use lying or in
a sitting position and if they need assistance transferring to use the item.
Position in a safe and appropriate place. Ensure that walkways and doors are not
obstructed and that the item is not positioned near to sharp edges such as furniture
corners etc to minimize potential risk if client/s move around.

14. Care and Maintenance
Keep away from sharp and pointed objects.
Bertie Bolster is not intended to be jumped on.
Regularly check Bertie Bolster for wear and tear. Discontinue use if damaged until repaired
or replaced.
Observe the following:-
1. Organise a regular cleaning schedule.
2. Fabric can be machine-washed at 30˚C
4. Tumble dry on low.
5. Make sure the item is thoroughly dry before use.
FABRIC MAINTENANCE
If you look after your Bertie Bolster it should give you many years of service, but please observe the
following:-
1. Fabric may wear, tear or “rub off” if subjected to sharp objects or continual rubbing by hard
objects. Avoid shoes, buckles or sharp/hard objects.
2. Wipe off accidental marks/liquids using a mild detergent and a damp cloth, avoiding excessive
amounts of water. Do not use cleaners with abrasives in them or solvent-based cleaners such
as trichloroethane or carbon tetrachloride. Liquid detergents used to wash cups/plates etc. are
ideal.
3. From time to time lift the seating area to clean all surfaces and the floor underneath
