How to use your sprayer
The do’s and don’ts
Before you start, make sure it’s a warm, dry day.
Then mask off any areas that you don’t want to spray.
Don’t spray in windy weather otherwise you could end
up spraying more than just your fence.
Connect the wand to the handle and make sure that
all connections to the sprayer, wand and hose are
hand tightened before you start.
Adjust the nozzle so that it’s vertical and in line with
the trigger A.
Filling your sprayer
Give your Ronseal Sprayable liquid a good shake. Push
down the handle of the sprayer and turn anti-clockwise
until the pump pulls out. Fill with liquid to the desired
level BC.The unit is designed to hold 5L of liquid,
which is marked on the unit, make sure you don’t go
over this limit. Once it’s full, insert the pump and turn
the handle clockwise to fully tighten. You’re now ready
to start.
A reminder, don’t use any solvent based liquids in your
sprayer, as this will damage the unit.

How to use your Precision Finish Fence Sprayer
1. Accuracy – ideal for outlining and fiddly spaces
This setting is ideal for control and precision.
You can use this setting to outline the edges of your
fence panel, or to spray narrow panels or fiddly areas,
as it gives less overspray in those hard to reach corners.
Turn the dial to setting number 1 D.
Start pumping the handle Eup and down to pressurise
the sprayer. You’ll hear a slight hissing noise from the
release valve when the unit is pressurised.
Make sure the nozzle is no more than 15cm away from
the fence. Pull the trigger Fto begin spraying.
Working more quickly when using this setting will help
to avoid drips or runs.

removing the pump, make sure any pressure is released
by lifting the pressure release valve H.

Cleaning your sprayer
1. Clean up
To empty the sprayer, push the pump handle all the way
down and lift the pressure release valve until no‘hissing’
can be heard. Once the pressure has escaped, unscrew
the pump unit and tip any liquid back into its tub.
(Alternatively, spray the excess liquid back into its tub
before releasing pressure).
Remove as much product as possible before cleaning,
some local authorities have special facilities for the
disposal of waste coatings. Don’t empty into drains or
watercourses. It’s important that the sprayer is cleaned
thoroughly after use. Don’t leave the sprayer filled with
product when not in use or overnight.
Rinse out the sprayer several times with clean water,
then refill with clean water. Re-pressurise and then
spray through the nozzle until the water runs clear,
it’s best to do this on the Speed setting.
2. Cleaning the wand filter
Unscrew the wand handle from the trigger and clean
the filter with clean water.
3. Cleaning the nozzle and nozzle filter
Remove the nozzle and white filter and clean with
warm, soapy water and an old toothbrush.
Make sure you don’t use a sharp object as this will
damage the nozzle and ruin the spray pattern. Put the
nozzle back together and take care to do this in the
correct order K.

2. Speed – for big areas
This is perfect for speed, allowing you to finish
the job fast.
Turn the dial to setting number 2 I.
Start pumping the handle Jup and down to pressurise
the sprayer. You’ll hear a slight hissing noise from the
release valve when the unit is pressurised.
When using the Speed setting, stand with the nozzle
around 25cm away from the fence.
Use long sweeping arm movements rather than short
wrist movements. You should slow down your arm
movements when using this setting. When moving
down the fence overlap part of your previous pass by
50%, this will make sure the whole area is covered with
the correct amount of product.
You should keep the nozzle vertical when using this
spray setting.
If there’s enough pressure left in the sprayer, once
you’ve filled in one fence panel you can go straight on
to outline the next one. Switch the dial to number 1
and wait for the hissing to stop. If there’s no hissing
when the dial is turned, the pressure will need to be
topped up before you start spraying again.
Refill with Ronseal Sprayable liquid as required. Before
removing the pump, make sure any pressure is released
by lifting the pressure release valve.
