REMOVING MINERAL DEPOSITS
To keep your coee maker operating eciently, you should clean away the mineral deposits
left by the water regularly according to the water hardness in your area and the frequency of
which you use your coee maker. We recommend decalcifying your coee maker as follows:
1. Fill the water tank with solution of two tablespoons (30ml) white vinegar and cold, clean
water to the maximum level indicated on the water gauge.
2. Insert the carafe on to the heating plate.
3. Make sure that the filter and basket are assembled properly. Do not use any coee
powder!
4. Turn on the appliance and allow to brew the descaling solution. After brewing is
completed, switch o the appliance.
5. Leave the solution work for 15 minutes, repeat steps 3–5 again.
6. Turn on the appliance and run the solution until the water tank is completely empty.
7. Rinse by operating the appliance with just water at least 3 times.
HINTS FOR GREAT-TASTING COFFEE
• A clean coee maker is essential for making great-tasting coee. Regularly clean the
coee maker as specified in the CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE section. Always use fresh,
cold water in the coee maker.
• Store unused coee powder in a cool, dry place.
• For an optimum coee taste, buy whole coee beans and finely grind them just before
brewing.
• Do not reuse coee powder since this will greatly reduce the coee flavor. Reheating
coee is not recommended as coee is at its peak flavor immediately after brewing.
• Clean the coee maker when over-extraction causes oiliness. Small oil droplets on the
surface of brewed, black coee are due to the extraction of oil from the coee powder.
• Oiliness may occur more frequently if heavily roasted coee powder is used.
