FITTING GUARD
1. Align the edging support wheel (10) with the safety guard (19) (Fig. 1)
2. Secure the edging support wheel and the safety guard with the screws (22) (Fig. 2).
3. Align the spigot of the edging support wheel-guard assy with the notch at the trimmer head (11) and place the
wheel-guard-assembly on the trimmer head (Fig. 3).
4. Turn the wheel-guard assy along with the trimmer head anticlockwise until it locks in place (Fig. 4).
5. Secure the wheel-guard assy with the mounting bolt (24a), spring washer (24b) and washer (24c) (Fig. 5).
FITTING AND ADJUSTING AUXILIARY HANDLE
1. Ensure the auxiliary handle locking lever (15) is in down position.
2. Loosen the auxiliary handle fixing bolt (13) anticlockwise and remove it from the auxiliary handle (16).
3. Align the auxiliary handle with the handle support (14) (Fig. 6).

Warning! Do not connect the machine to the mains socket before it is completely assembled.

4. Insert in the auxiliary handle fixing bolt and tighten clockwise by hand (Fig. 7, 8)
5. Adjust the auxiliary handle to required position (Fig. 9, 10, 11)
6. Tighten the auxiliary handle fixing bolt clockwise and clamp the auxiliary handle locking lever in upper posi-
tion to fix the auxiliary handle in place (Fig. 12, 13).
NOTE: The tooth system must interlock.
NOTE: Only tighten the quick release bolt so that it is possible to clamp the lever down with light
pressure. If the lever cannot be clamped, slightly loosen the bolt. If the lever can be clamped without
resistance, tighten the bolt.
ADJUSTING LENGTH (Fig. 14)
Adjust the length to suit your height. It is recommended to use the product with the pole fully extended.
1. Loosen the locking sleeve for length adjustment (5) in anticlockwise direction.
2. Pull the telescopic tube (6) to desired length.
3. Tighten the locking sleeve in clockwise direction.

PREPARATION
ADJUSTING TRIMMER HEAD ANGLE
Adjust the angle of the trimmer head (11) according to the intended operation.
1. Press the unlock button for trimmer head angle adjustment (7) and hold it in position.
2. Adjust to desired position: Adjust to 0° when trimming grass on the flat ground (Fig. 15).
Adjust to 90° when trimming near edges and walls (Fig. 16).
3. Ensure that the unlock button for trimmer head angle adjustment snaps in place.
WARNING! Always ensure that the locking slider snaps in place! Only adjust to indicated angles!
Never adjust to any other intermediate position!
ADJUSTING PIVOT HEAD
Adjust the trimmer head to suitable angle. The joint has 3 snap-in positions between 0° and 90°.
1. Press the unlocking button for pivot head adjustment (8) and hold it in position.
2. Adjust to desired position (Fig. 17, 18).

3. Ensure that the unlock button for pivot head adjustment snaps in place.
USING EDGE GUIDE
Use the edge guide (12) to keep distance to obstacles that could be hit by the cutting device.
1. Adjust the edge guide in lower position for trimming operation (Fig. 19).
2. Adjust the edge guide in upper position for edging and storage (Fig. 20).
WARNING! Adjust the yoke position only when the product is switched off and the cutting device
is at a complete stop!
CONNECTING TO THE POWER SUPPLY (Fig. 21)
WARNING! For your safety, it is required that the plug attached to the trimmer is always
connected to an extension cord. The extension cord must be suitable for outdoor use with
sockets protected against water splashing. The extension cord must always be used with the
cable strain relief. Do not use the trimmer without an extension cord connected. Always use a
residual current supply (RCD) protected supply.
1. Make sure the trigger switch (2) is in its off position.
2. Double the extension cord, about a foot from the end. Lead the loop through the hole on the rear safe guard
and hook the loop over the cord strain relief (3). Gently pull on the cord to ensure that it is firmly attached at
the handle.
3. Connect the extension cord to a suitable socket.
WARNING! Check the voltage and current! The voltage and current must comply with the
information on the rating label!

OPERATION
CAUTION: Always wear eye protection.
STARTING AND STOPPING (Fig. 22)
1. Squeeze the trigger switch (2) to start the trimmer.
2. Release the trigger switch to stop the trimmer. (Fig. 22)
TRIMMING
1. Use the trimmer at an angle of approximately 15-degree to the working area (Fig.23).
2. Slowly swing the trimmer from side to side(Fig.24).
3. Do not overload your trimmer, take small “bites” this will keep machine operating at high speed and will greatly
improve cutting efficiency, (Fig.25).
4. Cutting close to a wall
Use the edge guide when cutting close to an edge.
EDGING
Adjust the trimmer head angle when trimming on edges and clamp the edge guide in its upper position. Avoid
bringing the cutting device into contact with hard objects such as walls and curbstones. Push the product for-
wards using the wheel (Fig. 26).

OPERATION
LINE FEEDING (Fig. 27)
During use, the tip of the trimming line will get shorter due to wear.
Regularly check the condition of the trimming line (21) and adjust if necessary.
1. Each time the trimmer reaches a certain speed the line will extend by 12 mm.
2. Excess line will be cut by the knife (23) and should always remain inside the radius of the safety guard.
NOTE: The trimming line will wear faster and require more feeding if the cutting or edging is
done along sidewalks or other abrasive surfaces or heavier weeds are being cut.
REPLACING LINE SPOOL
Replace the line spool when it is empty or worn.
1. Turn the product over to access the trimming line.
2. Hold the trimmer head steady with one hand and with the other hand release the cutting head cover (17) by
pressing the release latch (18) on both sides.
3. Lift the cover from the trimmer head (Fig. 28).
4. Remove the spool (20) from the housing and discard all line on the spool (Fig. 29).
5. Clean the housing before inserting a new spool of the same type.
6. Lead the line ending through the eyelets of the housing.
7. Replace the cutting head cover; make sure it snaps in place.

MAINTENANCE
Be sure the tool is unplugged.
1. Your grass trimmer requires no additional lubrication or maintenance. There are no user serviceable parts
in your power tool.
2. Your trimmer line can dry out over time. To keep your line in top condition, store spare pre-wound
spools or bulk line in plastic, sealable bag with a tablespoon of water.
3. Never use water or chemical cleaners to clean your grass trimmer. Wipe clean with a dry cloth.
4. Plastic parts may be cleaned by using a mild soap and damp rag.
5. Always store your grass trimmer in a dry place. No not allow any liquid to get inside it.
6. Keep the motor ventilation slots clean.
 7.Ifyouseesomesparksashingintheventilationslots,thisisnormalandwillnotdamageyourpowertool.
8. There are no user serviceable parts in the trimmer. If a fault is suspected return the trimmer to an
authorized dealer for repair.
IMPORTANT : To assure product safety and reliability, repairs, maintenance and adjustment should be
performed by RYOBI authorized service centers or other qualified service organization,
always using identical replacement parts.
TROUBLESHOOTING
1. If trimmer will not operate, check power at mains plug
2. If the trimmer is not cutting properly check the nylon line length and lengthen or replace line.
3. If you experience regular line breakage rewind the spool uniformly.

excluded from this guarantee.
The Company accepts no additional liability
