1.1 Applications
Here are some examples of how ou can use our SWSIP-1000.
1.1.1 lace a Call via “SI roxy Server” (SI Call Server)
When ou have a (IEEE 802.11b) wireless connection to the Internet, ou can use the SWSIP-
1000 to make and receive VoIP telephone calls through an Internet Telephon Service Provider’s
(ITSP) call server.
You don’t need to know if the recipient’s connection t pe is an IP, cellular or landline based
service. Your SWSIP-1000 can call an landline or mobile telephone that a traditional PSTN
telephone can connect to as well the IP telephone network. Calls received from IP telephones
works exactl as ou would expect from the traditional telephone service.
Figure 1.1 SIP Proxy Server Application
The SWSIP-1000 registers with a SIP prox server in the following circumstances:
• Your connection uses an IP Telephon Service.
• Your connection is based in a corporate VoIP environment.
1.1.2 Direct I to I Calling
Use the SWSIP-1000 to make a call direct to the recipients IP address without using a SIP prox
server.

3.4.1.2 DHC
This section provides instructions for performing the DHCP settings.
The D namic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) client provides a mechanism
for allocating IP address d namicall so that addresses can be reused when hosts
no longer need them.
3.4.1.3 oE
The Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) provides more than just IP
address assignment, which is the primar purpose of DHCP (assigning a unique
and available IP address based upon a unique network adapter address). PPPoE
also allows for the movement of TCP/IP traffic between two known points. It
requires a username and password to log on.
