INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing our Salton Fan Heater SFH 03. Each unit has been manufactured to ensure
safety and reliability. Before first use, read the instructions carefully and keep them for further
reference.
IMPORTANT SAFEGAUARDS
When using any electrical appliance basic precautions should be followed. Please read the following
instructions as they are for your benefit and safety:
1. Make sure the power supply used corresponds to the rating label.
2. Never obstruct or block any openings of the heater.
3. Use the heater only on a flat surface.
4. Always disconnect the appliance from the main power supply when not in use and when
cleaning
5. Do not leave the heater “ON” unattended
6. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been
given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for
their safety
7. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance
8. Never cover the heater as this may lead to risk of fire
9. Keep the appliance a distance of at least 90cm from any combustible material such as furniture,
curtains, bedding, clothes or papers.
10. This heater is not intended for use in a bathroom.
11. Do not immerse the heater in water or allow for water to into contact with the plug or control
device
12. Keep this heater clean. Do not allow objects to enter the ventilation opening as this may cause
electric shock, fire or damage to the heater
13. Close supervision is require when any appliance is used near or by children
14. Never allow the cord to touch wet or hot surfaces, become twisted or be within the reach of
children
15. Do not use outdoors
16. Do not place on or near a hot gas electric burner.
17. Never use the heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance has malfunctioned or
been damaged.
18. Do not use this appliance for other than its intended use as described in this instruction book.
19. Do not place the heater immediately below a socket outlet.
20. This appliance is intended for household use only
21. Do not leave the heater on overnight
22. While cleaning, make sure not to use a wet cloth or use water on any part of the unit, as this
may cause a short circuit or electrical shock
23. Do not use this unit in any area where water is present.
24. Make sure the power cord is placed at the back and away from the front panel of the heater.
NOTE: Should the unit overheat, this heater is fitted with a safety overheating device which will
switch the heater off automatically. - (If the air vent is blocked or if the fan function is not blowing
air). If this should happen, all you need to do is:

Disconnect the plug from the electrical socket for a few
minutes. Ensure heater is not covered and nothing is
obstructing any of the vents. Plug the heater back into the
electrical socket and switch the heater back ON.

HOW TO OPERATE
1. Remove the unit from the box and take off any protective wrappings.
2. Place the heater on a smooth level surface and at least 30cm away from any obstacles.
3. Plug your fan heater into the power supply. Make sure your power supply corresponds to the
power indicated on the rating label.
NOTE: Fan speed cannot be altered and will always remain constant.
4. Heat temperature settings can be regulated using the switches located on the top of the heater.
This switch is used for both the fan and heat elements. Note the fan speed cannot be altered and
will always remain constant. To turn the appliance on :
Fan –for a low power air circulator - turn the dial on the right clockwise, once for the
fan function.
Low - Turn it twice for the Medium heat setting (1000W). This setting is best suited for
smaller, well-insulated areas that require less warming.
High - Turn the switch once more for Hi setting, or full power (2000W), which delivers
rapid warm air to increase the temperature to a given area.
Thermostat :
An adjustable thermostat control has been built into the heater, allowing you to choose how warm you
wish an area to be.
Turn the thermostat clockwise to operate.
NOTE: When the heater is in the Hi or Low position the thermostat dial must be turned to the left in
order for the fan to work.
At the “High” - setting (the thermostat control is turned all the way to the right) the room will heat up
quickly.
At the “Low” setting (the thermostat is positioned to the left) the room will maintain room temperature
and slowly disperse heat.
OVERHEATING SAFETY DEVICE
Your heater is fitted with a safety device that switches off the heater in the event of overheating.
Should the heater stop working, turn the heater off and inspect for blockage of inlet or outlet. Wait at
least 5 minutes for the protection system to re-set before attempting to re-start the heater.

If the heater fails to operate the safety device switches the heater off again, return the heater to your
nearest service centre for examination or repair.
CLEANING YOUR FAN HEATER
1. Always disconnect the appliance from the mains supply before cleaning.
2. Clean the outside of the heater by wiping with damp cloth and buff with a dry cloth.
3. Do not use Benzine or any other detergents / solvents or chemical agents to clean the
heater.
SERVICE
Hints before returning the appliance:
Is your household socket working properly?
Are all required switches in the ‘ON’ position?
Ensure that the plug is firmly in the socket and switched on?
Ensure the heater is standing on an even surface.
NOTE: If the power supply cord, or plug is damaged, an Amalgamated Appliances service centre or
an official agent must replace it.
If service becomes necessary within the warranty period the appliance should be returned to an
approved Tedelex Trading (Pty) Ltd service centre. Servicing outside the warranty period is still
available, however it will be chargeable.

1. Tedelex Trading (Pty) Limited (“Tedelex”) warrants to the original purchaser of this product (“the customer”)
that this product will be free of defects in quality and workmanship which under normal personal, family or
household use and purpose may manifest within a period of 1 (one) year from the date of purchase (“warranty
period”).
2. Where the customer has purchased a product and it breaks, is defective or does not work properly for the
intended purpose, the customer must notify the supplier from whom the customer bought the product (“the
supplier”) thereof within the warranty period. Any claim in terms of this warranty must be supported by a proof
of purchase. If proof of purchase is not available, then repair, and/or service charges may be payable by the
customer to the supplier.
3. The faulty product must be taken to the supplier's service centre to exercise the warranty.
4. The supplier will refund, repair or exchange the product in terms of this warranty subject to legislative
requirements. This warranty shall be valid only where the customer has not broken the product himself, or used
the product for something that it is not supposed to be used for. The warranty does not include and will not be
construed to cover products damaged as a result of disaster, misuse, tamper, abuse or any unauthorised
modification or repair of the product.
5. This warranty will extend only to the product provided at the date of the purchase and not to any expendables
attached or installed by the customer.
6. If the customer requests that the supplier repairs the product and the product breaks or fails to work properly
within 3 (three) months of the repair and not as a result of misuse, tampering or modification by or on behalf of
the customer, then the supplier may replace the product or pay a refund to the customer.
7. The customer may be responsible for certain costs where products returned are not in the original packaging,
or if the packaging is damaged. This will be deducted from any refund paid to the customer.
