AND
RACK LIGHT
The PowerBrite™is designed for live, studio and
fixed installation environments. This one rack space
AC power distribution unit is placed at the top of a
rack and supplies illumination to the entire rack via an
adjustable front panel pull-out fluorescent light. The
eight rear receptacles are arranged vertically and hori-
zontally to accommodate both AC plugs and power
supplies. The front panel features a power On/Off
switch, an unswitched receptacle (for additional
power needed for temporary uses as in soldering,
etc.), a 15 Amp circuit breaker and a special back-lit
inlay which can be customized to display a facility
logo or name.

SPECIFICATION
The unit shall provide power distribution
to eight switched rear receptacles arranged
horizontally and vertically to accommodate
standard AC plugs and AC adapters as well as
one unswitched front panel receptacle.
The unit shall provide a front panel
retractable fluorescent light (using a F4T5CW
type bulb and a condenser type FS2 fluores-
cent starter), a 15 amp circuit breaker, a mains
On/Off switch and a light switch. It shall pro-
vide spike protection from hot to neutral, hot
to ground and neutral to ground. The
PowerBrite PB9 shall have a maximum clamp-
ing voltage (@ 100 amps) of 400 volts,
Maximum surge current of 8,000 Amps and a
maximum spike energy of 85 joules all at a
response time of 1 nanosecond. The unit shall
have an internal 500 milliAmp T-type starter
fuse.
The front panel nameplate shall be cus-
tomizable where as the Samson Logo may be
replaced with any company logo. The
PowerBrite owner’s manual shall provide infor-
mation on obtaining a custom logo.
The dimensions shall be 19″(482 mm)
wide, 7.5″(190 mm) deep and 1.75″(44.5
mm) high (1 rack space). Weight shall be 7 lb.
(3.2 kg). The PowerBrite shall carry a three-
year warranty.
The unit shall be a SAMSON POWERBRITE
PB9.
