Predic ive and normal ex inpu
Occasionally the e a e issues when attempting to ente text into the phones as the phone will "guess" what
you want to w ite. This is known as p edictive text.
P edictive Text allows common wo ds to be ente ed by a single key p ess fo each lette , as opposed to the
multiple key p ess app oach. The intent is to simplify the w iting of text messages, howeve we often find
that the opposite is the case.
To change the way text is input you will need to be c eating a text message.
P ess SELECT > sc oll to messaging > P ess SELECT > highlight c eate message > P ess SELECT > using the
la ge cente key, p ess down once to be in the body of a blank message > P ess the top left hand key unde
the wo d “options” > Sc oll to “W iting Options” P ess SELECT > Sc oll to Input Method > P ess SELECT
The top option on the mini menu that appea s will eithe say “P edictive Text on” o P edictive Text Off”
(the full sentence is too long to show on the main sc een so it will sc oll th ough the wo ds) to switch
between the 2 menu options simply p ess select when this menu option is highlighted.
You should now be able to ente the text as expected (e.g. to gain an o you would need to p ess the 6 key
th ee times
Problems sending ex messages
If you eceive the message "E o " when attempting to send a text it is likely that you have accidentally
changed the Message Cente Numbe sto ed within you phone.
All text (SMS) messages a e sent to this numbe befo e they a e sent onto the app op iate pa ty.
The Message Cent e Numbe is sto ed in:
Menu >MESSAGES > P ess SELECT > Sc oll to Settings > P ess SELECT > Sc oll to text messages > P ess
SELECT > sc oll to Se vice Cente
The numbe should be displayed in you phone as +447802000332.
If the numbe is not as shown you should delete the numbe cu ently sto ed and eplace it with
+447802000332 by p essing change and then clea ing the numbe cu ently sto ed and then typing in the
co ect numbe .
Sent messages will appea in you Sentbox and not you Outbox.
Problems receiving ex messages
You Mobal phone is capable of eceiving text messages, the p oblem usually lies with the sende of the
message, pa ticula ly if the sende of the text message is using a non GSM phone.
We would ecommend that you have the people texting to you contact thei domestic p ovide and ask
whe e the sending of the message is going w ong, they should explain that they a e able to eceive texts
f om you, but they a e unable to eply to you.
Please emembe that texting is not gua anteed and we ecommend that in the case of eme gency you
always call athe than text, as even successful texts can be delayed fo up to 72 hou s!
