GUIDE
Set Up Your Phone
Step 1. Insert the SIM Card
1. Hold the phone securely.
2. Use the SIM removal tool that came
with your phone to open the SIM
card tray.
3. Carefully place the new SIM card
into the tray with the carrier logo
facing up.
Step 2. Charge the Phone
Before turning on your phone, charge it
fully.
Your phone comes with an Adaptive Fast
Charging charger and a USB cable. Plug
the smaller end of the cable into the USB
charger port on your phone and the
larger end into the charging head. Then
plug the charger into an electrical outlet
to charge the phone.
Warning! Use only Samsung-approved
charging devices . Samsung
accessories are designed to
maximize batter y life. Using other
accessories may invalidate your
warranty and may cause damage.
Turn Your Phone On/Of f
►To turn ON, press and hold the
Power/Lock key.
►To turn OFF, press and hold the
Power/Lock key and follow the
instructions.
Initial Device Configuration
1. Select a language and tap START
or tap ACCESSIBILITY if you are
visually impaired or hard of hearing.
2. Follow the prompts to complete the
setup process.
Lock and Unlock Your Phone
Use your device’s screen lock features to
secure your device.
1. To Lock, press the Power/Lock key.
2. To Unlock,press the Power/Lock
key and then swipe your finger
across the screen.
Volume and Ringtones
1. From the Home screen, tap
Apps gSettings g
Sounds and vibration.
●Tap Volume to increase or
decrease ringtone volume.
●Tap Ringtone to select a ringtone.

Device Layout Customize Your Phone
Wallpaper and Widgets
►Touch and hold a blank space on a
home screens to access options.
●Wallpapers: Change the look of the
Home and Lock screens. Display
a favorite picture or choose a
preloaded wallpapers.
●Widgets: Runs a self-contained
application on a Home screen.
There are all kinds of widgets ,
including links to a specific contact,
Internet bookmarks, Gmail and email
accounts, and many others.
●Themes: Set the theme to apply
to your home and lock screens,
wallpapers, and app icons.
●Screen grid: Change the number of
icons that can be placed on each
Home screen by changing the
Screen grid dimensions.

Voicemail
Set Up Voicemail
1. From the Home screen, tap
Phone and then touch and hold
until the device dials your
voicemail.
2. Follow the prompts in the new user
tutorial to set up your mail box.
Access Voicemail
1. From the Home screen, tap
Phone and then touch and hold
. After connection, you will hear
your voice greeting.
2. When connected, follow the voice
prompts from your voicemail center.
Note: Your voice mailbox is not pass word
protected until you create a password
by following the setup tutorial.

Messages
Create and Send a Message
Create and send a message using the
Messages app.
1. From the Home screen, tap
Messages.
2. Tap to compose a message.
3. Enter either the recipient’s phone
number or e-mail address.
4. Tap the Enter message field and
enter a message.
5. Tap Attach and select a file
type.
6. Tap Add emoticons to choose
an emoticon.
7. Review the message and tap
SEND
.
Gmail
Use Gmail™ to send and receive email.
Before you can access Gmail, you must
first sign in or create a new Google
account.
►From the Home screen, tap
Google gGmail.

account set up on your device .
Set Up Your Email Account
Check email on the go with popular
Internet-based email accounts.
1. From the Home screen, tap
Apps g Samsung folder g
Email.
2. Enter your email address and
password into the appropriate fields
and tap SIGN IN.
3. At the Account options screen,
select the frequency in which the
device should check for new email
on the server and tap Next.
4. At the Set up email screen, name
the account and enter a screen
name to identify yourself on this
account.
5. Tap Done to store the new account.
Connections
Connect to Bluetooth
1. From the Home screen, tap
Apps gSettings g
Bluetooth.
2. Tap On/Off to turn on Bluetooth™.
3. Tap a device from the list to initiate
pairing.
4. Enter the passkey/PIN code, if
required, and tap OK.
5. Once successfully paired,
displays in the Status bar.
Connect to Wi-Fi
1. From the Home screen, tap
Apps gSettings gWi-Fi.
2. Tap On/Off to turn on Wi-Fi™.
3. Tap a network in which to connect
and enter the password
if prompted.
4. When connected displays in
the Status bar.

Install Apps
Apps are available to download from
Google Play™.
1. From the Home screen, tap
Play Store.
2. Tap an app you want to download
and tap INSTALL or the app’s price.
3. Tap ACCEPT after reviewing the
app’s permissions.
Internet
Access the Internet with a fully-featured
web browser.
►From the Home screen, tap
Internet.
To enter a URL:
►From the homepage tap the URL
field at the top of the screen,
enter the URL and tap Go on your
keyboard.
To add a new window:
1. From your browser window, swipe
the screen down and tap Tabs g
NEW TAB. A new browser window
displays.
2. Tap Tabs to see the open windows,
and tap a window to view it.
Camera
Take pictures and record videos with the
Camera app.
►From the Home screen, tap
Camera.
Lock Screen
Configure the device’s security
parameters. The Screen lock menu
allows you to choose from a variety of
locking features.

Create a New Contact
1. From the Home screen, tap
Apps gContacts.
2. Tap to add a contact.
3. Tap a destination type.
4. Enter the desired information.
5. Tap SAVE to store the new entry.
Edit an Existing Contact
1. From the Home screen, tap
Apps gContacts.
2. Tap a contact to view the
information, then tap EDIT.
3. Tap SAVE when you finish updating
your information.
Delete an Existing Contact
1. From the Home screen, tap
Apps gContacts.
2. Touch and hold a contact name
from the list and select DELETE.
Call Features
Explore features and functionality
associated with making or answering
a call.
Making a Call
►From the Home screen, tap
Phone.
Ending a Call
►From within an active call, tap
End call.
Answering a Call
►At the incoming call screen, touch
and slide Answer in any
direction to answer the call.
Rejecting a Call
►At the incoming call screen, touch
and slide Reject in any direction
to route the call to your voicemail
system.
Power Saving Mode
Ultra power saving mode saves power
during an emergency by using a minimal
home screen layout and limiting the
number of apps you can use.
1. From Home screen, tap Apps
gSettings gBattery.
2. Tap Ultra power saving mode and
tap to turn it on.
