Tips on Multi Tool Safety.
1. Before starting your multi tool inspect it carefully to ensure that there are no loose parts
and that it is in good working order.
2. Be sure of your footing. Always walk, never run, when operating the multi tool.
3. Clear the area of any stones, sticks, wire and debris before beginning, and Always ensure
that you operate your multi tool a safe distance away (over 14 metres) from adults,
children and animals.
4. Keep hands, feet and clothing away from the multi tool’s moving parts, and always
wear appropriate footwear (avoid sandals or open shoes).
5. Never put your hands or feet underneath the guard of the multi tool while the engine is
running.
6. Be aware that the machine’s exhaust area and other parts of the multi tool get very hot
during, and right after use.
7. Turn off the engine and disconnect the spark plug cap before cleaning,
transporting or making adjustments.
8. We recommend you avoid trimming when it is raining, or after nightfall.
9. Do not fill the tank, or start the multi tool indoors, or in a poorly ventilated area, as exhaust
gases contain poisonous substances and petrol fumes are flammable and dangerous.
10. Never open the fuel filter cap, or fill the tank, if the engine is still hot after use.
Please ensure that you securely tighten the petrol cap after filling.
11. Do not transport the multi tool in a vehicle, if there is any petrol in the tank.
12. Store fuel and oil in a cool well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight and not near gas
cylinders or hot water heater systems.
14. Sanli recommends that you wear ear protectors, safety goggles and safety boots when using a
multi tool.
15. All servicing and repair work under warranty must be carried out by an Authorised Sanli Dealer,
otherwise the warranty may be void.

Attaching the handle
- straight shaft.
Place the upper ergonomic handle in the desired
position (Fig 1) then while holding the lateral
handle underneath in position, insert the screws
and tighten with the allen key provided.
Insert the attachment shaft into the engine shaft,
ensure the locator on the engine shaft meets the
hole on the attachment shaft (Fig 2).

Attaching the safety guard
- straight shaft.
While placing the multi tool on the ground, place
the guard as shown in (Fig 4) and locate the
screws through the tension plates as indicated
and tighten screws.
Attaching the cutting blade.
(straight shaft model only).
When heavy duty cutting is required
utilise the cutting blade (Fig 5).
Remove the trimmer bump head
& rotate clockwise. Then place the cutting
blade as shown and tighten in anti-clockwise
direction.
Order of components to attach the
cutter blade (Fig 6).
Attaching the safety guard
- bent shaft.
While placing the brushcutter on its back, clip the
guard onto the shaft lining the holes up with the
guides see (Fig 7) then locate the bolt through
the guard and guide plate as indicated. Place the
washer over the bolt and tighten nut.

Attaching the trimmer head - bent shaft.
Tighten clockwise the trimmer head. Use the black plastic spanner provided on the nylon head to
tighten it (Fig 8).

Replacing trimmer line –
bent shaft.
Take approximately 4-5 metres of 2.0-
2.4mm diameter trimmer line, fold in half to
make a loop. Hold the spool as shown in (Fig
9) and hook the loop onto the divider plate
as shown and wind the line, one on either
side of the divider plate.
Wind both lines anti-clockwise on both sides
of spool ensuring that both lines remain in
their respective channels as shown in (Fig 10).

In order to stop the line from unraveling, slip
each end into the lugs on the bottom edge
of the spool, shown in (Fig 11).

Insert ends of the trimmer line through the
holes in side of the spool casing and place
the spool into the centre of the casing (Fig
12).
When in position pull the ends further out of
the casing, then return the lid, click into
place and return to hub.
Attaching the pruner
1. Remove the cap on the end of
shaft.
2. Remove the screw on the end of the
gear case.
3. Insert the the shaft into end of the
gear case.
4. Line up the hole on the end of
the gear case into which the screw is to
be inserted with the hole on the shaft &
tighten the screw firmly. (Fig 13)

5. Using an Allen key. Tighten the bolt
provided, to fix the mechanism into
place (Fig 14).
Filling up with oil
Fill the oil tank with chainsaw oil before
using. (Fig 15)

Attaching the hedge trimmer
attachment.
1. Remove the screw from the end of the
hedgetrimmer a ttachment.
2. Insert the end of the shaft into the
hedgetrimmer head.
3. Line up the hole on the end of the
hedgetrimmer head with the hole on the shaft.
4. Using an Allen key, tighten the bolts provided
to fix the hedgetrimmer attachment into place.
