3. 1 PRESENTATION
The SUPRASSON P5 NEWTRON®is composed of three
main parts:
- a control unit (Figure 1, ref. 1)
- a footswitch (Figure 1, ref. 2)
- a cord with a connector for the handpiece
(Figure 1, ref. 3)
The SUPRASSON P5 NEWTRON®control unit has a
rotary potentiometer on the top with the marking
OI (On/Off) and marked 1 to 20 (power levels).
Various connections are to be found at the rear of
the unit:
- 1 mains cord (fixed) with earth pin (Figure 2,
ref. 1)
- 1 footswitch cord (fixed)(Figure 2, ref. 2)
- 1 tube (Figure 2, ref. 3), equipped with a filter
system (Figure 2, ref. 4), for connecting to the
water supply.
- 1 Team-up socket (optional equipment) (Figure
2, ref. 5). This equipment comes with its own
instructions.
- Tap for adjusting the water flow (Figure 2, ref.
6).
On the right is the scaler cord (fixed) with a
connector for the handpiece (Figure 5, ref. 4).
There is a support located above the cord for the
handpiece connector.
There are air vents on the rear and lower panels
of the device.
In order to maximize air flow, the device rests on
4 rubber feet, keeping the lower air vents clear.
Accessories: the SUPRASSON NEWTRON®handpiece
and tips come with their own instructions.
3. 2 TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
a) Upper panel of the control unit
The rotary potentiometer (Figure 3, ref. 1) on the
top panel is used for:
- starting and stopping the device: OI (Figure 3,
ref. 2)
- setting the ultrasonic power: 1 to 20
Its display is divided into 4 coloured sectors each
having 5 positions.
The power on indicator (Figure 3, ref. 3) shows
the colour and no. of the chosen power setting:
-green: 1 to 5: very low to low power
-yellow: 6 to 10: medium power
-blue: 11 to 15: high power
-orange: 16 to 20: very high power
The technology built into this device enables the
practitioner to work at a constant amplitude,
depending on the power level selected and
compensating for the effort applied.
Note: the power level for using tips should be
selected in accordance with the instructions in
the Tipbook and the tip colour coding system
(CCS tips).
