Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the Temperature/Humidity Indicator model SK-M460-TRH.
4 to 20 mA temperature/humidity transmitter model SK-RHC-V (0 to 1 VDC). Do not use this
instrument for any other purposes.
* Voltage output device and temperature/humidity transmitter model SK-RHC-V (0 to 1 VDC) are
sold separately.
- Read this instruction manual thoroughly before and keep it in a safe place for future references.
Warning
This instrument is not explosion-proof. Never use it in environment with flammable gases.

Cautions
■Please follow the instructions below for proper usage of the product.
- Never disassemble or modify the instrument. Doing so may cause malfunctions.
- These are precision instruments. Be careful not to drop, vibrate or give an impact to them
- Avoid using the instruments in a place exposed to direct sunlight or near a heat source.
Doing so may not just compromise the measurements but cause failures as well.
- Avoid using the instrument in dusty environment or salty air. Dust and dirt on the power plug may
cause fire.
- This instrument is not waterproof. Never let it wet.
- Do not use it in places in effects with condensing, rain, water drops or steam.
- If this instrument is used in an environment where electrical noise is generated, the display may
become unstable and the measurement error may increase.
- Refer to the 'Installation Method' section of this manual when installing the instrument and be
careful not to drop.
- Remove all electrical wirings before moving the instrument. Fail to do so may cause dropping of the
instrument.
- Make sure to select a proper type of adaptor in accordance with related standards and product
specifications when not using the accessory device that comes with the instrument.
The standards and specifications are stated in the 'AC adaptor' section of this manual.
■Please follow the instructions below to avoid electric shocks.
- No power switch is available for this instrument. Therefore the instrument becomes operating state
when connected to a power source.
- Connect to a power source only after correct wiring is complete.
- Do not touch the terminals while power is being supplied.
- Do not wire the instrument in places with heavy humidity or water splash nor with wet hands.
- Make sure to put the terminal cover on during usage time in prevent from dust or an electric shock.

Overview
This instrument is an indicator which displays the temperature and humidity by inputting an analog
voltage (0 to 1V). This instrument can be connected to a direct voltage output device or our
temperature/humidity transmitter Model SK-RHC-V (0 to 1V).
Features
- Easy to read LED display with the character height of approx. 57mm
Incorporating the red LED with its character height of approx. 57mm makes the displayed values
well visible from far distance.
- The thin-shaped body (60mm depth) is suitable to be mounted on a wall.
Also available to mount the body on a celling with the optional .
- Sinmple wiring is available due to the power supply (12VDC) that is equipped for our temperature/humidity
transmitter.
- Alarm function for upper and lower limits is provided for option at the time of purchase order.
A buzzer or a rotating warning light can be attached as an alarm device.

How to Use
●Installation location
Install the instrument indoors. It is available to mount it on a wall or a celling (option)
Avoid following locations for installation:
- Places with flammable gas, explosive gas and corrosive gas such as SO2and H2S
- Places where the ambient temperature go beyond 0 to 50℃(humidity of less than 85%rh)
- Places of the impact of electrical noise and radio waves
- Places in effects with condensing, rain, water drops or steam
●Installation
Four wall-mounting brackets are included with the product.
If the product is to be suspended, use the two ceiling-mounting brackets (options). To purchase the
brackets for celling-mounting, contact the store where you purchased the unit or us.
1. Wall mounting
(1) Remove the eight M3 screws from the back of the unit case.
- Do not loosen or retighten the screws other than the eight shown in the figure below.

(2) Align the screw holes on the four wall-mounting brackets included with the product with the screw
holes on the unit, and then secure the brackets with the eight screws removed in step (1) above.
- Be sure to use the M3 screws removed from the unit.

(3) Secure the four wall-mounting brackets to the wall by using eight screws (such as those for
concrete, M3 - M6).
- Screws (for concrete) are not included with the product.
- The unit weighs about 3.5 kg. When installing the unit, select screws having appropriate strength.

2. Ceiling mounting (optional)
(1) Secure the two ceiling-mounting brackets to the ceiling by using four screws (such as those for
concrete, M3 - M6).
- Screws (for concrete) are not included with the unit.
- The unit weighs about 3.5 kg. When installing the unit, select screws having appropriate strength.

(2) Remove the four M3 screws from the back of the unit case.
- Do not loosen or retighten the screws other than the four shown in the figure below.

(3)Align the screw holes on the hanging brackets with the screw holes on the unit, and then secure it
with the M3 screws removed in step (2) above.
- Make sure that the upper part of the bracket to be secured to the ceiling and the unit
panel are facing the same direction as shown in the figure below on the right.
- Be sure to use the M3 screws removed from the unit.

●Connecting the cable
Remove the screws from the terminal cover to take out the cover.
- Break the film covering the cable opening at the bottom of the unit case.
- Draw the connection cable and the cable of the AC adapter through the cable opening, and then
connect them to the terminals on the terminal block.
- Use a cable of an appropriate size.
- It is recommended to use a crimp-style terminal; tighten it securely.
- Upon completion of connecting, be sure to install the terminal cover.
- To install the terminal cover, first hook the tab of the lower cover into the bottom edge of the terminal
opening on the unit case, and then secure the terminal cover with the mounting screws.
- Be sure to use the M3 screws removed from the unit.

Cautions
- This model does not have Power ON/OFF switch. As soon as the unit is connected to a power
source, it becomes active.
- Connect to a power source only after completing the wiring.
- Please be careful not to confuse the wiring. Incorrect wiring may result in instrument failure.
- Do not wire the instrument in places with heavy humidity or water splash nor with wet hands.
- When wiring the terminal block, tighten the screws securely without a slack.
- Do not use unconnected terminals for other application such as transmission.
- In using crimp terminals, take the necessary insulation distance by an insulation tube or the kind to
avoid exposure of wires so that a electric shock or short circuit may be prevented.
- Please use the input load within the standard specifications.
- Refer to the 'Installation Method' section of this manual when installing the instrument and be careful
not to drop.
- Remove all electrical wirings before moving the instrument. Fail to do so may cause dropping of the
instrument.
- Make sure to put the terminal cover on during usage time in prevent from dust or an electric shock.
- Please use the cable with proper diameter.
- It is recommended to use a crimp terminal for wiring. Please tighten the wires securely without a
slack.
- A direct voltage output device or our temperature/humidity transmitter, model SK-RHC-V, is not
included as a part of the instrument.
- When each input device such as SK-RHC-V transmitter is connected with the indicator, error may
occur if the cable length is longer because of the noise or voltage depression. Please check
thoroughly environmental conditions such as the electrical noise before wiring.
- Do not touch the electrical board and electronic components in the device.
1. Applicable cable
Diameter of applicable cable : 0.75sq (AWG18) to 0.34sq (AWG22)
Size of terminal screw : M3
Installation torque : 0.5N/m
* Tighten the screws with a screwdriver bit and torque that matches the screw size.

2. Wiring method
(1) For connecting a direct voltage output devise
Confirm the manual of the terminal box and wire without fail referring to the diagram below.
* Do not remove the screws of bothe end of terminal block.
* Input the voltage to T+/H+ within the rated range (Temp.: 0 to 650mVDC, Humi.: 50 to 999mVDC)
* Be sure to use the devise within rated power and rated range of input voltage. Otherwise, it may cause
malfunction.
* Connect commonly - (minus) terminals of temperature and humidity inputs and - (minus) terminal of power
source to GND

(2) Connecting with a Temperature/Humidity transmitter, model SK-RHC-V (0 to 1V)
Check the wiring diagram of the terminal block and wire correctly.
* Connect commonly T- (temperature minus), H- (humidity minus)
and12 to 24VDC power –(minus) terminals to GND.
3. AC adaptor
Pass the AC adapter cord through the cable opening and insert the plug of the AC adapter into DC
Jack. Then the measured value will be displayed.
* When using another adaptor that was not included in the instrument. Select an adaptor which meets
following specifications

Alarm / Display sampling setting (optional)
* Alarm function is an optional function. Please specify this at the time of purchase order.
ⅠAlarm setting
Setting the thresholds for alarm will enable the instrument to alert with a buzzer or rotating
warning light when the displayed value is beyond either upper or lower limits.
·Alarm output is contact output of relay. Connect to an alarm device to use.
·Two kinds of alarm output are provided. When use the an alarm device, make sure to
choose one that meets the specifications of the alarm you require at the time of order.
Example of wiring (connect with SK-RHC-V (0-1V) transmitter)
Be sure to start power supply to the indicator after wiring is completed
When setting up, avoid the places where are high humidity and water sprashes.

1. Wiring method
(1)Remove screws that fixture both end of the terminal cover and dismount the terminal block.

Re-install the cover after wiring. Refer to the 'Wiring method' section for cover removal.
(2)Connect the AC adapter to the unit while the alarm switches No. 1 to 4 (see the figure below) are set
to the left (OFF), and turn on the unit.
•Set the upper limit temperature alarm.
(3) Slide the alarm switch No. 1 for the upper limit temperature to the right (ON).
The upper limit temperature value flashes on the temperature display.
(4) Press the △button to increase the setting value or the ▽button
to decrease it.
Set to the desired value for the upper limit temperature alarm.
Pressing and holding the key quickly increases (decreases) the
value.

(5) Upon completion of setting, press the SET key to confirm.
The set value for the upper limit temperature alarm is stored in the unit's memory, and the unit
returns to display the measured values.
- The set value is not stored in the unit unless the SET key is pressed.
- To change the upper limit value alarm again, slide the alarm switch No. 1 to the left (OFF) and
then to the right (ON). The set value flashes.
(6) To set the lower limit temperature alarm, upper limit humidity alarm or lower limit humidity alarm,
follow steps (2) through (5) above.

- The alarm is actuated when the alarm switch is set to the right (ON).
The alarm is cancelled (OFF) when the alarm switch is set to the left (OFF).

- The alarm switches are set to cancel the alarm (OFF) at the factory.
- When the unit is turned on with the alarm setting switch to the right (ON), the unit automatically enters
the alarm state without displaying the alarm setting screen. To edit the alarm setting, slide the alarm
setting switch back to the left (OFF), and then to the right (ON). The unit enters the setting mode.

2. Connecting the unit
Check the descriptions on the terminal board, and install the wiring properly by referring to the figure
below.
For the configuration of the input terminals of temperature and humidity, refer to "Connection"
- Do not remove the screws from both ends of the terminal.
- There are no polarities on the alarm device connection terminals. Connect the wiring as shown in the
figure above.

3. Alarm operation conditions
(1) Alarm activation conditions
The alarm is activated if the measured value is equal to or exceeds (falls below) the set value.
The upper limit temperature/humidity alarm is activated if the measured value is ≥ the set value.
The lower limit temperature/humidity alarm is activated if the measured value is ≤ the set value.
Example: The upper limit temperature is set to 50.0°C
The upper limit temperature alarm is activated if the temperature rises to 50.0°C.
The alarm operation is cancelled if the temperature falls to 49°C.
(2) Alarm setting range
Temperature: 0.0 to 60.0°C
Humidity: 15.0 to 95% RH
(3) Alarm cancellation conditions
The alarm output has hysteresis of 1°C. The alarm device is constantly under load if it activates or
cancels the alarm operation every time it samples. Hysteresis is used to reduce such load on the
alarm device at temperatures close to the alarm set value.
* Operation example of upper limit temperature alarm (set value is 50.0°C)
ON if the measured temperature exceeds 50°C
OFF if the measured temperature falls below 49°C
•The upper limit temperature alarm is activated when the temperature rises to 50.0°C.
•The alarm operation is cancelled when the temperature falls to 49°C.
* Operation example of lower limit temperature alarm (set value is 30.0°C)
ON if the measured temperature falls below 30°C
OFF if the measured temperature exceeds 31°C
•The lower limit temperature alarm is activated when the temperature falls to 30.0°C.
•The alarm operation is cancelled when the temperature rises to 31°C.

ⅡDisplay sampling time setting
Change the display sampling time setting as needed. The factory setting is 1 second.
(1) Remove the screws securing the terminal cover, and then remove the terminal cover.
(2) Change the display sampling time setting by using the setting switch No. 1 (see the figure below).

Caution

Error message
If a problem is detected in the unit, an error code appears on the display.
Maintenance
● Storage
Store the instrument in following ambient:
0 to 50°C and less than 85%rh (no condensing)
● Cleaning
- Do not wash or wipe this unit with alcohol, thinner, or other solvents. Use soft cloth to clean. In case
of tough stain, wipe it with a cloth that that has been soaked in water with a neutral detergent and
tightly wrung.

Connecting Cable between SK-RHC-V Transmitter and Digital Indicators
This cable is used to connect our temperature/humidity transmitter model SK-RHC-V (0 to 1 VDC)
and our digital temperature/humidity Indicators. Do not use this cable for any other purposes.
As for the usage of the transmitter and digital Indicator, read each instruction manual
1. Applicable cable
. Outer diameter : 10mm, 4 conductors (common wiring: T-, H- 12VDC, GND)
. Terminal treatment : wires (Transmitter) / O terminals (Indicator)
2. How to wire
Check the wiring diagram of the terminal block and wire correctly.
When the cable length is 10m or longer, do not wire the cable to the “DC12V” terminal and be
sure to use the direct power supply (12 to 24VDC or AC adapter). Otherwise, potential
difference generates by the extended cable and the indicating errors may occur.
