Safety
This manual contains basic instructions for the commissioning and operation of the
device / system. For this reason, it is important to ensure that the manual is always
available to the authorised and trained operator. He needs to read the manual
thoroughly. The manufacturer is not liable for damage to material or humans due to non-
observance of the instructions and safety advices provided by this manual.
Locally applying regulations have to be observed!
xThe limits described under Technical Data may not be exceeded.
xDo not drop the device / the system’s components or subject it / them
to strong impacts or mechanical shocks.
xThe device / system must be in a technically perfect condition for
measurement.
xThe indicated degree of protection can only be ensured if plugs or the
provided protection caps are put in all sockets of the device.
xThe plugs of the supplied connection cables are only compliant to the
indicated degree of protection as long as they are plugged in. Plugs
which are not connected or which are connected in a wrong way are
not protected from water and dust ingress.
Check the contents of the package for completeness and visible damage right after
receipt. In the case of visible damage, the device must under no circumstances be taken
into operation. If something is missing or damaged, please contact your local sales
representative.
It is important to observe the generally applicable regulations of the country in which the
device will be operated, as well as the current national accident prevention regulations
and internal company directives (work, operating and safety regulations).
Use genuine accessories to ensure system safety and reliable operation. The use of
other parts is not permitted and invalidates the warranty.
Repair and maintenance work has to be carried out by SebaKMT or authorised service
partners using original spare parts only. SebaKMT recommends having the system
tested and maintained at a SebaKMT service centre once a year.
SebaKMT also offers its customers on-site service. Please contact your service centre if
needed.
The lithium batteries of the device are dangerous goods. The transport of the batteries
itselves and of devices which contain such batteries is subject to regulations based on
the UN Model Regulations “Transport of Dangerous Goods” (ST/SG/AC.10-1).
Please inform yourself about the transportation requirements and follow them when
shipping the device.

Function and Design
The Hydrolux HL 50 by SebaKMT is an easy-to-use and handy device for acoustic leak
detection on water pipes.
The HL 50 comes with an integrated acoustic sensor. The pipe noise is recorded via the
probe tip, internally amplified, filtered (if needed) and played via wireless headphones.
At the same time, the measured noise level is shown on the display of the device.
During the measurement, the user can select from three frequency filter settings.
The probe tip can be removed. This way, prolongation sticks or other probes can be
installed.
Using the sensor socket, an external acoustic sensor can be connected to the HL 50,
e.g. a ground microphone.
Instead of wireless headphones, also corded headphones can be used.
The following picture shows the probe tip, sensor and the connection sockets of the
device.

Headphones
The HL 50 comes with wireless headphones. These have the following operating
elements:
ON / OFF … ON/OFF switch
TUNE … Frequency selection control dial
VOL … Volume control dial
Via the audio socket , any corded headphones can be connected to the HL 50.
After connecting the headphones, the HL 50 has to be restarted. The headphones are
recognised automatically by the device. While there are corded headphones connected,
the use of the wireless headphones is not possible.
The volume of the headphones can be adjusted via the buttons and .
After removing the corded headphones, the HL 50 does not automatically switch back to
the wireless headphones mode. The device needs to be restarted for this purpose.
Energy Supply
The device is delivered with the following batteries:
2 x 1.5 V AA LR6
Alternatively, rechargeable 1.2 V NiMH batteries can be used (min. 1800 mAh).
When the battery level is low, a flashing battery symbol appears at the top of the
display.
Empty batteries can be replaced. For this purpose, loosen the screw at the backside of
the device and remove the cover. Pay attention to the correct polarity when inserting the
new batteries. Then re-attach the cover and tighten the screw carefully.
Don´t overtighten!
Please act carefully and without violence at all times, in order to avoid
damaging the components.

Operation
When conducting a measurement with the internal sensor, the noise is recorded with the
probe tip .
The probe tip can be removed. If needed, you can unscrew it (right-hand thread) and
replace it with another probe, or you can install the supplied prolongation sticks between
the probe tip and the sensor.
Via the 5-pole socket at the bottom side of the device, an external sensor can be
connected to the HL 50, e.g. the universal microphone PAM B-2. (There are more
sensors available from the optional accessories by SebaKMT.)
When connecting an external sensor, the HL 50 needs to be switched off. Pay attention
to the marks on the plug and the socket. The plug needs to lock tangibly.
When the HL 50 is switched on, it automatically recognises the external sensor. From
that moment, the values of the external sensor are indicated on the display.
Alternating between the internal and external sensor while operating the device is not
possible.
After removing the external sensor, the HL 50 does not automatically switch back to the
internal sensor. The device needs to be restarted for this purpose. Then the values of
the internal sensor are shown in the display again.
By clicking the button the user can switch between the three following
frequency filter settings during the measurement:

We recommend the following procedure in order to conduct a measurement:

The display freezes and the headphones switch to "mute".

Gerätes / Systems. Daher muss sichergestellt sein, dass dieses Handbuch dem

xNehmen Sie das Gerät / System nur in Betrieb, wenn es sich in
technisch einwandfreiem Zustand befindet.
xDie für das Gerät / die Einzelgeräte angegebenen Schutzgrade
bezüglich Feuchtigkeit und Staub können nur gewährleistet werden,
wenn in sämtliche Buchsen die zugehörigen Stecker eingesteckt sind,
oder die Buchsen mit den entsprechenden Schutzkappen abgedeckt
sind.
xDie Stecker der mitgelieferten Verbindungskabel erfüllen nur im
angeschlossenen Zustand die Kriterien des jeweils ausgewiesenen
Schutzgrades. In nicht oder nicht korrekt angeschlossene Stecker
kann Wasser und Staub eindringen.
Prüfen Sie den Lieferumfang unmittelbar nach Erhalt auf Vollständigkeit und äußerlich
sichtbare Beschädigungen. Geräte mit erkennbaren Schäden dürfen unter keinen
Umständen in Betrieb genommen werden. Sollte etwas fehlen oder beschädigt sein,
setzen Sie sich bitte umgehen mit Ihrem Vertriebspartner in Verbindung.
Zu beachten sind die allgemein gültigen Vorschriften des Landes, in dem das Gerät
betrieben wird sowie die bestehenden nationalen Vorschriften zur Unfallverhütung und
eventuell intern existierende Vorschriften (Arbeits-, Betriebs- und
Sicherheitsvorschriften) des Betreibers.
Originalzubehör dient der Systemsicherheit und Funktionssicherheit. Die Verwendung
anderer Teile ist unzulässig und führt zum Verlust der Gewährleistung.
Reparaturen und Wartungsarbeiten dürfen nur durch SebaKMT selbst oder autorisierte
Service-Partner und unter Verwendung von Originalersatzteilen durchgeführt werden.
SebaKMT empfiehlt, das System einmal jährlich in einem SebaKMT-Servicecenter
prüfen und warten zu lassen.
SebaKMT bietet seinen Kunden auch Vorort-Service. Bitte kontaktieren sie bei Bedarf
das für sie zuständigen Servicecenter.
Der Transport von Lithium-Batterien, sowie von Geräten, in denen solche Batterien oder
Akkus verbaut sind, ist durch Vorschriften geregelt, welche auf den
UN-Modellvorschriften für den Gefahrguttransport (UN Dokument ST/SG/AC.10-1)
basieren.
Informieren Sie sich über die Transportvorschriften und befolgen sie diese beim
Transport des Systems.

Funktion und Aufbau
Das Hydrolux HL 50 von SebaKMT ist ein leicht zu bedienendes, handliches Gerät zur
akustischen Leckortung an Wasserleitungen.
Das HL 50 verfügt über einen integrierten akustischen Sensor. Das Rohrgeräusch wird
über die Tastspitze aufgenommen, intern verstärkt, bei Bedarf gefiltert und über die
Funkkopfhörer wiedergegeben. Der gemessene Geräuschpegel wird gleichzeitig auf
dem Display des Gerätes angezeigt.
Der Nutzer kann während der Messung zwischen drei Frequenzfiltereinstellungen
wählen.
Die Tastspitze des HL 50 ist demontierbar. Auf diese Weise können Verlängerungen
oder andere Tastköpfe eingesetzt werden.
Über die Sensorbuchse kann ein externer akustischer Sensor an das HL 50
angeschlossen werden, zum Beispiel ein Bodenmikrofon.
Anstelle der Funkkopfhörer können kabelgebundene Kopfhörer verwendet werden.
