0 Commissioning
1. Carefully unpack the Millimar, the probe and
the AC adapter.
Do not dispose of the original
packaging. In case of a complaint or
repair, the relevant components must
be returned to the manufacturer in the
original packaging. Damage that occurs
due to shipping in unsuitable packaging
is not part of the Mahr GmbH warranty
obligation!
2. Use the AC adapter included in the scope of
delivery to connect the Millimar to the power
supply.
Using a different AC adapter is not
permitted. Damage that occurs due
to using a different AC adapter is not
part of the Mahr GmbH warranty
obligation!
3. Connect the probe(s) to C1 and/or C2.
The S 1840 PE units have only one
probe input.
In contrast, the S 1840 units have two
probe inputs. An inductive probe can
be connected to each input of the
S 1840.
4. Switch on the instrument using the ON/OFF
switch.
A self-test is performed automatically. When
the self-test is complete, the flashing entry
"DEUTSCH" appears on the display.
5. Use the DATA and MASTER keys to select
the required display language (German,
English, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese
or Swedish).
The selected setting can be changed later at
any time.
6. Press START as soon as the required language
is displayed.
The flashing entry "MM" appears on the
display.
7. Use the DATA and MASTER keys to select
the unit of measurement (mm, µm or inch)
with which the measuring values are to be
displayed.
The selected setting can be changed later at
any time.
8. Press START as soon as the required unit of
measurement is displayed.
The size of the current indication area of
the light bar is shown on the display. The
measuring value of the connected probe is
shown on the display and on the light bar.
9. Upon delivery, the linking formula "+C1 + C2"
is set for instruments with inductive module
and "+C1" for instruments with PE module.
These settings can be changed at any time in
the catalog of functions and parameters (see
point 12).
10. Set the light bar indication range. To do this:
– Press these keys: 1 × MENU key,
2 × MASTER key, 2 × MENU and
3 × MASTER key until "RANGE1" is
shown on the display.
– Press the MENU key again. The indication
range currently valid for the selected unit
of measurement flashes (e.g. "*1" for
± 1 mm).
– Use the DATA and MASTER keys to set
the indication range to be used.
– Accept the indication range set by pressing
START once.
