INSTALLATION
MOUNTING:
1. The SV-6900.BL is specifically designed to take the place of the third brake light on a school
bus or delivery truck or to be mounted high up on the back of the vehicle giving it a third brake
light as well as a reverse camera. The first thing to do is locate and remove the existing third
brake light.
2. Most third brake lights will be held in place by screws from the outside. Make sure to carefully
remove the screws and remove the third brake light housing. You may need to use a panel
removing tool to help pry the brake light loose. Be careful not to scratch any of the surface
paint on the outside of the vehicle
3. If you are adding the SV-6900.BL to a vehicle that does not have the third brake light already,
then you will need to drill a hole to route the wire harnesses into the vehicle. Make sure to
double check behind the mounting surface to make sure nothing will be spliced or damaged.
4. Make the necessary connections to the brake light wiring so that the SV-6900.BL lights can
turn on when the brake is applied (See wiring section)
5. Route the wire harness into the vehicle through the pre-existing hole of grommet that the
brake light wiring is coming though.
6. Remove the cover from the adhesive baking from the SV-6900.BL and place it into the
mounting area. Use the provided screws to secure the camera into place on the vehicle.
The SV-6900.BL can be used to either replace an existing third brake light or simply to add a third
brake light while giving the driver the added convenience of a 150° CMOS reverse camera
CAMERA:
1. The color CMOS camera is maintenance-free, waterproof (IP-68) and vibration resistant.
2. This camera is designed to work well in day time or night time conditions.
3. The camera is completely electronic. There are NO manual adjustments for focus, etc.

WIRING:
1. Carefully route the wiring harness of the camera into the vehicle either using a pre-existing
factory grommet or by drilling a hole. If drilling a hole, be careful not to damage anything behind
the mounting surface.
2. Choose a convenient place to run the camera cable up the left or right side of the vehicle. As a
rule of thumb, try to avoid main factory harness looms that may contain high levels or RF noise or
interference.
3. On the brake light harness (The loomed wire harness with the white plastic connector) Connect
the Red wire to the 12 volt brake light wire and connect the Black wire to chassis ground. This will
make the lights for the SV-6900.BL illuminate when the brake pedal is pressed.
4. On the camera harness, Connect the Red wire to the 12 volt reverse light wire and connect the
Black wire to chassis ground.
5. Run the Yellow RCA video cable to the monitor’s video input or reverse camera input.
6. The White RCA does not need to be connected
