IEC/EN 61010-1, EN 61326-1 and other safety
requirements for electronic measuring apparatus.
Follow all warnings to ensure safe operation.

5. MEASURING METHODS
OPERATION CAUTION
Observe all safety precautions when the FUNCTION
switch is set to 250V, 500V, 1000V position. Connect the
meter te st leads to the circuit under te st before operating
the TEST button. Do not touch the clip ends of the te st
leads when the TEST button is pressed.
Some electrical equipment, especially cables, may retain
an electrical charge when disconnected from the line. It
is good practice to discharge such equipment with
grounding st raps or other suitable devices before
touching or making connections. The meter automatically
discharge the te st circuits when the spring loaded TEST
button is released.
IMPORTANT
Remove all power to the circuit under te st when making
resi st ance measurements. If any voltage is present in
the te st circuit, the LED on the meter scale plate will
light.
Immediately disconnect the te st leadsandturno󰀨power
to te st circuit.
● FUNCTIONSWITCH
The FUNCTION switch is used to select the range or
function desired.

The TEST button is normally OFF. Press to te st .

Caution: Never turn the function dial while the
button is depressed. This may damage
the in st rument. Never touch the circuit
during insulation te st ing.
When te st ing is complete, ensure the TEST button is
released before the te st leads are disconnected. This
is because the sy st em may be charged up and it mu st
be allowed to discharge through the te st er's internal
discharge resi st or.

Warning: Ensure circuit is not live before
Commencing te st ing.
■ Selectthe200ΩrangebyrotatingtheFUNCTION
switch and connect the te st leads to the in st rument.
Short the tips of the te st leads. Press and hold down
the TEST button by twi st ing it clockwise.
The display will show the resi st ance of the te st
leads.
■ Connectthete st leads to the circuit under te st .
Ensure the circuit is not live by checking that the
live circuit indicator does not light. Read the value of
resi st ance from the LCD.
● ACvoltagete st
Set the FUNCTION switch to ACV. Press TEST button
and read the value of voltage from the LCD.
