The DP4™faceshield combines a clear anti-fog window with a
ip-down IR window, providing uninterrupted protection for
grinding, brazing and cutting operations. The shield curves naturally
to t facial contours - ensuring reliable protection from splash,
particles and ying debris. Ratchet headgear suspension allows the
user to adjust size and tighten at the turn of a knob. Rugged,
polycarbonate window is impact and chemical splash resistant.

Window Removal and Replacement
Window Removal
1. Depress Release Tab using a hard object or nger, while
pulling down and out on the Window body. When the
Release Tab is depressed, the two Locking Tabs should
move out of locking position.
Window Assembly
1. Slide the Window UP and INTO the Crown at the corners, so
that the grooves in the Window t into the notches on the Crown.
2. Push the center of the Window UP and INTO the Crown. The
Locking Tabs should “snap” into place once properly secured.
The Release Tab will guide the window.
NOTE: Before using, make sure the Locking Tabs are fully engaged!
Flip Front Removal and Replacement
Flip Front Removal
1. Using a Phillips-head screwdriver, unscrew
the two screws that attach the Flip Front to
the Crown and Window.

Flip Front Assembly
1. The Window must already be attached to the Crown before
proceeding to assemble the Flip Front. Please make sure the
Window is installed properly before continuing.
2. Insert the two screws through the interior holes of the Window
and Crown.
3. Place the Flip Front onto the exterior of the Crown, matching the
holes of the Flip Front to the protruding screws from the interior.
4. Tighten the screws using a Phillips-head screwdriver until secure.
Do NOT over-tighten!
5. Check to assure the Flip Front operates smoothly without
interference.

1. Check with supervisor or employer before using to determine whether this product is suitable for your job
and in your area.
2. Impact resistant shields are NOT unbreakable and DO NOT provide extraordinary protection against ying
particles, splash, spray, and spatter. They will not provide protection against severe impact hazard, such
as, but not limited to, fragmenting grinding wheels, high speed projectiles, explosive devices or molten
metal.
3. Pitted or scratched plates reduce vision clarity, SEVERELY REDUCE IMPACT PROTECTION, and should
be replaced immediately to prevent injury.
4. This product is NOT suitable for protection against x-rays, gamma rays, high energy particulate radiation,
lasers, and/or masers.
5. Inspect the faceshield Window frequently and immediately replace worn, pitted, or scratched Window.
6. If used with CLEAR Window, this Window will NOT provide any protection against ultraviolet or infrared
radiation.
7. If used with SHADED Window, DO NOT USE FOR ARC WELDING!
8. This product does NOT conform to ANSI Z87.1 for welding helmets.
9. Flip Front CANNOT be used with shaded Window. The only congurations allowed are:
• Clear Window with Shade 5 Flip Front
• Clear Window with Shade 6 Flip Front
• Clear Window with Shade 8 Flip Front
• Clear Window with NO Flip Front
• Shade 3 Window with NO Flip Front
• Shade 5 Window with NO Flip Front
10. A Window must be used at all times. Do NOT use a Flip Front without a Window.
11. Product needs to be used only with appropriate Window and Flip Front.
12. When using a conguration with no Flip Front, use Crown without holes.

Chin Guard Removal and Replacement
Chin Guard Removal
1. Remove the head gear knobs on both sides of the face shield.
2. Pull the chin guard outwards from the window.
3. Install the head gear knobs on both sides of the face shield.

Chin Guard Installation
1. Remove the head gear knobs on both sides of the face shield.
2. Assemble the chin guard in to the window; push in on the chin
guard to insert the tabs on to the window. All the chin guard
tabs should be secured on to the window.
3. Align the holes located on each side of the chin guard with the
face shield crown holes. Insert the head gear studs, tighten the
knobs securely.

User’s Guidelines
Thank you for choosing this Sellstrom Manufacturing Co., Inc. Personal Eye Protector. This personal
eye protector is in compliance with the European Directive 89/686/EEC and to the harmonized technical
standard EN 166.
PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT
This product has been tested and approved in accordance to the following technical standards: EN
166 & EN 170
Eyes Protectors
The use of the eye protector and the standards it complies with are specied in the enclosed user’s
manual – “proper marking of the protectors according to their use”, considering its CE certication markings
present on the lter and on the frame. Storage, cleaning and maintenance: keep the protectors at normal
temperature in dry places. The lters shall be cleaned periodically. Always use warm water and soap to clean
the lenses. After washed, the protector shall be dried using a soft cloth. Daily check that physical conditions
of the protector are adequate. Scratched lters shall be replaced. Should lters require disinfecting, contact
Sellstrom Manufacturing Co., Inc. for advice. Wearers with an extremely delicate skin could develop allergic
reactions if they are in contact with the eye protectors materials (temples, nose pads, etc.)
Classication
Face screens: Mod. MP 4 CV ( Clear Visor) provide protection against basic impacts, high speed particles
(B-120 m/s), resistance to surface damage by ne particles and are able to protect against optical radiation,
liquid droplets and short circuit electric arc.
Accessories: The oculars of some models are interchangeable but in order to maintain the safety of the eye
protector it is essential that the new oculars be the t ones. Ask Sellstrom Manufacturing Co., Inc. for advice
about spare parts availability. Should you need to replace any of the eye protector’s components, please check
the instructions supplied by Sellstrom Manufacturing Co., Inc..
Life of the product: Aging should not produce impairment on the eye protector if stored under perfect
conditions at a range of 5° - 30° Celsius room temperature. However, if any impairment should be noticed, the
product shall be changed. The product should be changed after three years of normal use. If on the marking is
present a letter (F,B,A) followed by letter T , the faceshield protects the user against mechanical impact by high
speed particles at extreme temperature (from -5°C to +55°C), therefore if is not present the letter T the face
shield protects the user against mechanical impact by high speed particles only at room temperature.
Packing: Always transport the product inside a case or a cover and never with tools or metallic objects.

WARNING!
The scratched or damaged oculars should be replaced immediately. Don’t use the visor with damaged oculars,
it could be cause injuries. The visor protects against high speed particles however wearing it over standard
ophtalmic spectacle may transmit
impacts. Be careful wearing ophthalmic spectacles using the visor too close to the face it maybe dangerous a
cause of injuries.
