Servicing Manual

Grey Filter Service
NOTE
Before any servicing work is carried out, please ensure the system is isolated from the fuel supply
(close any ball valves).
You will need:
Spanner
Gloves
Replacement element
Gasket set for grey filter and flat head screwdriver (If gasket replacement is required)
1. Turn off the power supply to your machine –
talk to your internal representative if
required.
2. Close any ball valves to isolate the system
from the fuel supply. Talk to your internal
representative if required.
3. Unscrew the 4 lid screws using the spanner
and alternate between the screws as there
will be pressure from the internal spring
cassette.
4. Remove grey filter lid and inspect black lid
gasket and if a replacement is required,
replace as per instructions from Step 6. If not
replacing gasket, skip to step 9.
5. Remove Gasket from the grey filter lid using a
flat head screwdriver to prise it out.
6. Clean any residue from the filter lid where the
gasket was.
7. Install the new gasket, ensuring it is sitting
correctly in the given area.

8. Remove spring cassette.
9. Remove old element using the handle*.
10. Fit the new element using the handle at the
top.
11. Install the spring cassette.
12. Replace grey lid on to the filter unit and
tighten 4 bolts (6-8nm max)**onto filter lid.
13. Re-open any ball valves to isolate the system
from the fuel supply.
14. Turn back on the power supply to your
machine and press reset.
* Dispose of fuel and used elements in accordance with local environment rules.
** The filter lid tightening torque is a maximum of 8 Nm. Do not over tighten, as this can damage
the filter body and or filter lid.

Grey Filter - Draining Water
NOTE
Both the grey and blue filters will isolate water collected from fuel.
They each have sensors which trigger an alert when they reach a certain level and require the
water to be drained. This can however be done regularly before the alert is triggered to avoid the
machine stopping.
You will need:
Flathead screwdriver
Gloves
Suitable bowl to collect water
1. Turn off the power supply to your machine –
talk to your internal representative if
required.
2. Close any ball valves to isolate the system
from the fuel supply. Talk to your internal
representative if required.
3. Place a suitable container under the drain
tap to collect the water
4. Open the air bleed valve/screw located on
the top of the grey filter by turning clockwise
5. Open drain tap to release the water by
pushing down the tap and twisting anti
clockwise.

NOTE
If your system is not running correctly after emptying fuel, you may need to prime your WASP
System. If required, please follow instructions on Page 19 or contact WASP on 01923 606 600.
*Dispose of fuel, water and used elements in accordance with local environment rules.
6. When the water has drained, close the drain
tap by turning clockwise in to a horizontal
position.
7. Dispose of the water from the container*.
8. Close air bleed valve on the lid.
9. Re-open any ball valves to isolate the system
from the fuel supply.
10. Turn back on the power supply to your
machine and press reset.

Bleeding Air from the Grey Filters
NOTE
After servicing your WASP WB System, if it is not functioning as you would expect, you may
need to bleed air and possibly prime the system.
You will need:
Flat head screwdriver
Gloves
1. Turn off the power supply to your machine –
talk to your internal representative if
required.
2. Close any ball valves to isolate the system
from the fuel supply. Talk to your internal
representative if required.
3. Open the air bleed valve/screw located on
the top of the grey filter by turning
clockwise.
4. You will hear the air being released and
should close the air bleed valve at the first
sign of fuel escaping. This only needs to be
finger tight plus ¼ turn.
5. Prime the system if necessary.
6. Re-open any ball valves to isolate the system
from the fuel supply.
7. Turn back on the power supply to your
machine and press reset button.

Priming
In the event during the service that the system contains air and the filters and input pipe work is not
completely full of fuel, the filters will need to be bled of air and system primed.
The instructions on the following pages detail how to bleed air from the grey and blue filters.
Instructions on priming your system to ensure the filters and input pipe work are full of fuel, will depend on
the set up of your pipework layout either side of your WASP PFS System.

The Grey Filter should be topped up with fuel
just shy of the brim.
Ensure Input pipe work is full with fuel
(instructions will differ depending on your
piping set up).
