Savannah Assembly Instructions
MOUNTING OPTIONS
Option A -Using Ballast Block frame plus separately purchased
Concrete ballast blocks. This option is appropriate for installation on
most surfaces, even including grass.
1. Assemble the Ballast Block Frames (D) together.
2. Attach the Rotate Bearing (E) to the top of the above assembly using the four 8 x
20mm bolts (E1) and washers provided.
3. Assemble the umbrella Fabric Canopy (C) to the umbrella frame (A). The cover
must be orientated so the Velcro join is down the master rib (the main umbrella
support to the mast), the fabric pockets on the ends of each of the seven ribs and
the eyelet at end of the Velcro join secured around the screw on the master rib.
The Velcro seam should be joined at this stage.
4. Position the completed umbrella assembly into the top of the Rotate Bearing. In-
sert 2 x 25mm Bolts (E2) into base of umbrella mast and tighten thumbscrew to
ensure umbrella stays put in event of an updraft.
5. Before opening umbrella ensure that Concrete Ballast blocks are purchased (i.e.
from Bunnings) and positioned onto the four quadrants of the Ballast Block
Frame. 120kgs of ballast weight is recommended, this could require up to 6 con-
crete Ballast blocks.
Your Umbrella is now ready for use, please read operating instructions.
Option B -Using On-ground Base Plate (F) - This enables umbrella to
be bolted directly to a pre-stressed concrete surface.
1. Secure On-ground Base Plate (F) to your selected location using (4) purchased
Locksins, Dyna Bolts or Chemical bolts - recommended 80mm x 8mm. The On-
ground Base Plate must be perfectly level, use a spirit level and mortar mix to
get it level if the surface is not thus. An 8mm masonry bit will be needed to drill
the holes - use the four large outer holes on the Base Plate as a template for
drilling into the concrete, and bolt into these holes.
2. Attach the Rotate Bearing (E) to the above On-ground Base Plate using the
four 8 x 20mm bolts (E1) plus washers provided.
3. Proceed for the rest of the assembly from 3 above.
