Warning
Unpacking Instructions
Immediately upon receiving this product, carefully unpack the carton and check the contents to ensure
that all parts are present, and have been received in good condition. Notify the dealer immediately and
retain packing material for inspection if any parts appear damaged from shipping or the carton itself
shows signs of mishandling. Save the carton and all packing materials. In the event that a fixture must be
returned to the factory, it is important that the fixture be returned in the original factory box and packing.

Safety instructions
Every person involved with the installation, operation and maintenance of this device has to:
-be qualified
-follow the instructions of this manual
Before your initial start-up, please make sure that there is no damage caused by transportation. Should
there be any, consult your dealer and do not use the device.
To maintain perfect condition and to ensure a safe operation, it is absolutely necessary for the user to
follow the safety instructions and warning notes written in this manual.
Please consider that damages caused by manual modifications to the device are not subject to
warranty.
This device contains no user-serviceable parts. Refer servicing to qualified technicians only.
IMPORTANT:
The manufacturer will not accept liability for any resulting damages caused by the non-
observance of this manual or any unauthorized modification to the device.
Never let the power-cord come into contact with other cables! Handle the power-cord and all
connections with the mains with particular caution!
Never remove warning or informative labels from the unit.
Do not insert objects into air vents.
Do not open the device and do not modify the device.
Do not connect this device to another dimmerpack.

Do not switch the device on and off in short intervals, as this would reduce the system’s life.
Only use device indoor, avoid contact with water or other liquids.
Avoid flames and do not put close to flammable liquids or gases.
Always disconnect power from the mains, when device is not used or before cleaning! Only
handle the power-cord by the plug. Never pull out the plug by tugging the power-cord.
Make sure that the available voltage is not higher than stated on the rear panel.
Make sure that the power-cord is never crimped or damaged. Check the device and the power-
cord from time to time.
If device is dropped or struck, disconnect mains power supply immediately. Have a qualified
engineer inspect for safety before operating.
If the device has been exposed to drastic temperature fluctuation (e.g. after transportation), do
not switch it on immediately. The arising condensation water might damage your device. Leave
the device switched off until it has reached room temperature.
If your Showtec device fails to work properly, discontinue use immediately. Pack the unit securely
(preferably in the original packing material), and return it to your Showtec dealer for service.
For replacement use fuses of same type and rating only.
This device falls under protection class I. Therefore it is essential to connect the yellow/green
conductor to earth.
Repairs, servicing and electric connection must be carried out by a qualified technician.
WARRANTY: Till one year after date of purchase.
Operating determinations
If this device is operated in any other way, than the one described in this manual, the product may suffer
damages and the warranty becomes void.
Any other operation may lead to dangers like short-circuit, burns, electric shock, crash etc. You endanger
your own safety and the safety of others!
Connection with the mains
50751: Let all wiring to and from the device be carried out by a qualified technician.
50751S/50751M: Connect the device to the mains with the power-plug.
Always pay attention, that the right color cable is connected to the right place.

Return Procedure
Returned merchandise must be sent prepaid and in the original packing, call tags will not be issued.
Package must be clearly labeled with a Return Authorization Number (RMA number). Products returned
without an RMA number will be refused. Highlite will not accept the returned goods or any responsibility.
Call Highlite 0031-455667723 or mail [e-mail] and request an RMA prior to shipping the fixture.
Be prepared to provide the model number, serial number and a brief description of the cause for the
return. Be sure to properly pack fixture, any shipping damage resulting from inadequate packaging is the
customer’s responsibility. Highlite reserves the right to use its own discretion to repair or replace
product(s). As a suggestion, proper UPS packing or double-boxing is always a safe method to use.
Note: If you are given an RMA number, please include the following information on a piece of paper
inside the box:
1) Your name
2) Your address
3) Your phone number
4) A brief description of the symptoms
Claims
The client has the obligation to check the delivered goods immediately upon delivery for any short-
comings and/or visible defects, or perform this check after our announcement that the goods are at their
disposal. Damage incurred in shipping is the responsibility of the shipper; therefore the damage must be
reported to the carrier upon receipt of merchandise.
It is the customer's responsibility to notify and submit claims with the shipper in the event that a fixture is
damaged due to shipping. Transportation damage has to be reported to us within one day after receipt
of the delivery.
Any return shipment has to be made post-paid at all times. Return shipments must be accompanied with
a letter defining the reason for return shipment. Non-prepaid return shipments will be refused, unless
otherwise agreed in writing.
Complaints against us must be made known in writing or by fax within 10 working days after receipt of the
invoice. After this period complaints will not be handled anymore.
Complaints will only then be considered if the client has so far complied with all parts of the agreement,
regardless of the agreement of which the obligation is resulting.

Description of the device
Features
The DUP-600, Showtec's latest dimming pack, combines all features of the most common dimming packs
in just one dimming pack. It’s rough and sturdy housing makes it the right choice for rental, touring and
installation application. It has 6 channels which can handle a maximum load of 16A each. Each channel
is completely patchable. Furthermore each channel can set its dedicated dimming curve.
For easy control or preheat the DUP-600 has 6 faders for local control. The DUP-600 has a built-in DMX
failure with back-up CUE, ensuring you that there will always be light when DMX fails.
For stand-alone operation the DUP-600 has several built-in chase programs. The DUP-600 is available in 3
different models: hardwired, with a 16 pole multipin output and with 6 Schuko outputs.

NOTE: Knowledge of DMX is required to fully utilize this unit.

1) Channel Fuses 16A 250V (Ch1 –Ch6)
2) Channel faders (Ch1 –Ch6)
Allows you to control the output value of the corresponding channel. Moving a fader forces the DUP-
600 back in manual mode.
3) DMX LED
Indicates if the device is receiving a DMX signal.
4) Channel LED
The intensity of the LED gives an indication for the corresponding channel’s output value.

6) Channel buttons (Ch1 –Ch6)
Allows you to toggle a channel’s DMX mode on or off.
Pushing and holding this button allows you to increase the output value of the corresponding
channel. To decrease the output value you have to use the corresponding channel fader (2).
Note:
There is no indication that the unit is in DMX mode.
Using a fader will force the corresponding channel back in manual mode.
When the DUP-600 is powered on, each channel will start up in manual mode.
7) Menu Button
Pushing this button allows you to enter a (sub)menu.
8) UP button
Pushing this button allows you to change a value/setting/mode while in an editable menu.
Pushing and holding this button will have the same effect as slowly moving all channel faders (2) up
simultaneously.
9) Down button
Pushing this button allows you to change a value/setting/mode while in an editable menu.
Pushing and holding this button will have the same effect as slowly moving all channel faders (2)
down simultaneously.
10) Escape button
Pushing this button allows you exit the current (sub)menu and return to the previous (sub)menu.

Installation
Remove all packing materials from the DUP-600. Check that all foam and plastic padding is removed.
Let all wiring to and from the DUP-600 be carried out by a qualified technician.
Hardwire version terminal connections
Always disconnect from electric mains power supply before cleaning or servicing.
Damages caused by non-observance are not subject to warranty.

Set Up and Operation
Before plugging the unit in, always make sure that the power supply matches the product specification
voltage. Do not attempt to operate a 120V specification product on 230V power, or vice versa.
When powering the unit on, the initialisation screen will pop up.
After approximately 15 seconds, the main menu will appear.
1) Shows the actual channel which you are editing or the last edited channel. The output of the channel
is indicated by a bar graph.
2) Overview of all channels, the output of each channel is indicated by a bar graph.

Main menu
1) Press the menu (7) button to enter the menu for editing. Use the up (8) and down (9) buttons to select the
appropriate submenu:
Patching menu
Curve menu
Minimum level menu
Maximum level menu
DMX fail menu.
2) You can always return to a previous menu, by pushing the escape (10) button.
Patching menu
1) Push the menu (7) button to enter the first submenu. In this menu you can select between two modes.
Use the up (8) or down (9) button to select between:
Patching independent
In this mode you can set up each channel with its own independent DMX channel. Address range: 1-512.
Patching start
In this mode you can setup a start address from which all DMX channels are numbered in sequence. Address
range: 1-512.
2) Once you have decided which mode you need, push the menu (7) button to enter the next menu for setting up
either a start address in the patching start menu or assigning an address to each fader separately in the patching
independent menu.
3) When you’re finished editing, push the escape (10) button to return to the previous menu.

Curve menu
1) Push the menu (7) button to enter the first submenu. Using the up (8) and down (9) buttons you are
able to assign different curves for each channel, or assign one curve to all faders. You are able to
select:

2) Once you’ve selected a submenu, push the menu (7) button to enter that submenu and use the up
(8) and down (9) buttons to set up a suitable curve.
You can select 4 different curves:

3) When you’re finished editing, push the escape (10) button to return to the previous menu.

Minimum Level menu
1) Push the menu (7) button to enter the first submenu. Using the up (8) and down (9) buttons you are able to assign
different minimum levels for each channel, or assign one minimum level for all faders. You are able to select:

2) Once you’ve selected a submenu, push the menu (7) button to enter that submenu and use the up (8) and down
(9) buttons adjust the minimum level between 0 and 30%.
3) When you’re finished editing, push the escape (10) button to return to the previous menu.
Maximum Level menu
1) Push the menu (7) button to enter the first submenu. Using the up (8) and down (9) buttons you are able to assign
different maximum levels for each channel, or assign one maximum level for all faders. You are able to select:

2) Once you’ve selected a submenu, push the menu (7) button to enter that submenu and use the up (8) and down
(9) buttons adjust the maximum level between 70 and 100%.
3) When you’re finished editing, push the escape (10) button to return to the previous menu.
DMX fail menu
1) Push the menu (7) button to enter the first submenu. Using the up (8) and down (9) buttons you are able to assign

2) While in the Progr:01-Progr:10 menu, pushing the escape (10) button allows you to enter the velocity menu. While
in the velocity menu, the up (8) and down (9) buttons allow you to adjust the velocity (speed) for the selected
program between 0,05 and 30,0 seconds.
3) When you’re finished editing, push the escape (10) button to return to the previous menu.

Running chases
If there is no DMX signal detected, the DMX fail mode will be activated. The DUP-600 will run the
previously in the DMX fail menu selected Progr:01 –Progr:12.
Progr:01 –12 each hold a factory programmed chase. Make sure, you do not select the analog mode or
lasthold mode.
Reset to factory settings
Pushing and holding the menu (7), up (8), down (9) and escape (10)buttons for 3 seconds will start a
system reset. The display (5) will go blank for a few seconds and the factory settings of the DUP-600 will
be restored.
Maintenance
The Showtec DUP-600 requires almost no maintenance. However, you should keep the unit clean.
Disconnect the mains power supply, and then wipe the cover with a damp cloth. Do not immerse in
liquid. Keep connections clean. Disconnect electric power, and then wipe the DMX and audio
connections with a damp cloth. Make sure connections are thoroughly dry before linking equipment or
supplying electric power.
Troubleshooting
This troubleshooting guide is meant to help solve simple problems. If a problem occurs, carry out the steps
below in sequence until a solution is found. Once the unit operates properly, do not carry out following
steps.
1. If the device does not operate properly, unplug the device.
2. Check power from the wall, all cables, the settings (return to default), etc.
3. If all of the above appears to be O.K., plug the unit in again.
4. If nothing happens after 30 seconds, unplug the device.
5. Return the device to your Showtec dealer.
