Danger of electric shock
zConnect the device only to power sources with the specified voltage. Voltage
supply requirements can be found on the type label and on the mains adapter.
zConnect the device only to a power source that complies with the Limited Power
Source requirements to EN 60950-1.
zConnect the device only to a power source that complies with SELV
requirements.
Risk of cable damage due to stress
zDo not apply tensile stress to the cable.

7 System installation
Installation of the camera must be performed by qualified service personnel in
accordance with all local national electrical and mechanical codes. Perform the
following steps to install the camera.

When using the camera in conjunction with a video matrix switcher (SIMATRIX SYS, 648, 164) or
other telemetry equipment (different protocol), an interface converter CAC0103 is required.

7.2 Installation
CAUTION
The total weight of the main unit is approx. 1.3 kg. Check whether the ceiling to
which the dome camera is installed is strong enough to hold the unit mass. If
not, the dome camera could fall, causing injury.
1. Drill the mounting holes for the dome base using the drilling template.

2. If required, remove the knockout for surface cable entry (see figure below).

3. Insert the plastic anchors into the holes.
4. Remove the torx screws on the dome cover.
5. Connect the individual wires to the appropriate terminals for power, RS485
and alarm-in.
6. Attach the dome unit to the ceiling using the torx screws and O-rings
provided.
7. Manually adjust focus and zoom.
8. Attach the dome cover to the dome base using the torx screws.
9. Cover the screw heads with the plastic caps provided.
Optional: The mounting base CVAA-JB01 is provided if the cable run on the
surface needs to be made vandal-resistant.

8.1 General
8.1.1 Automatic switching between colour and B/W mode
The camera must be connected to an external sensor to receive day/night
detection signals.

The camera can be controlled remotely by an external device or control system,
such as a control keyboard, using RS-485 half-duplex. Connect marked Rx+, Rx-
to Tx+ and Tx- of the RS-485 control system.
