2 Notes
2.1 Safety
1. Do not disassemble or open IAQ Multi-sensor. This creates a risk of electrical shock and when connected to
power and immediately voids your warranty.
2. IAQ Multi-sensor is designed for commercial settings, indoors and in a dry location. Avoid contact with
liquids. Do not submerge IAQ Multi-sensor in liquid or attempt to clean it with liquids or solvents. To clean
IAQ Multi-sensor, disconnect from the power outlet and use a damp towel.
3. Do not insert objects in the openings or ventilation holes.
4. Maintain at least a 2-inch clearance for each vent hole when mounted near walls or any objects.
5. Do not replace the IAQ Multi-sensor battery, contact Siemens or authorized service provider to replace the
battery. Improper replacement or repair may damage the battery, cause overheating or injury. Properly
dispose or recycle the battery that must be recycled separately from household waste. Never incinerate the
battery.

2.3 Power button
The power button turns power on/off the device.

3.1 Edit surface mount Ethernet and BACnet settings
Scenario 1: Edit the default configuration
First time configuration:
1. Connect the PC directly to the Ethernet port on the Surface Mount.
2. Switch on your Surface Mount to Mode 3 (static IP mode) and change PC IP address to 192.168.2.x.
3. From your PC, enter the factory default IP address 192.168.2.1 to access the BACnet IP Configuration page
(Surface Mount operates in DHCP Server Mode and assigns an IP address to your PC at this stage).
4. Select the appropriate settings from the configuration fields and confirm to save.
Note:
The Surface Mount is disconnected at this point but retains the settings and you can use Mode 3 (static IP
assignment - Scenario 2) or Mode 2 (IP address assigned via DHCP - Scenario 3) to access the configuration
page.
Scenario 2: Change a valid configured static IP address to a new address
To change the assigned IP address on the IAQ Multi-sensor + Surface Mount:
1. Connect the Surface Mount to the Local Area Network (LAN) and in Mode 3 (IP address statically assigned
and previously configured).
2. Enter the previously configured, static IP address from your PC or mobile device to access the BACnet IP
Configuration page. The PC or mobile device must be connected to the same LAN as the Surface Mount.
3. Enter the new IP address and save.

Scenario 3: Change an invalid IP address to new, valid one
To change an invalid IP address to new valid one when users forget the IP address assigned to the IAQ Multi-
sensor + Surface Mount or enter an incorrect IP address:
1. To edit a static IP address, turn the Mode Selection Switch on your Surface Mount to Mode 2 (IP address
assigned via DHCP).
2. Connect the Surface Mount to the LAN using an RJ-45 cable.
3. From your PC or mobile device, access the router administrator page. The PC or mobile device must be
connected to the same LAN as the Surface Mount.
4. Identify the IP address currently assigned to your Surface Mount. You can search by device name, starting
with IAQ multi-sensor- and the last 6 characters of the device MAC (e.g. IAQ multi-sensor-xxxx, also known
as the "MAC NIC").

5. Enter the IP address to access the BACnet IP Configuration page from the router administrator page device
list, and then navigate to the BACnet Settings page and choose Static IP Mode 3.
6. Enter a new IP address and save. Once you confirm the change, switch your Surface Mount back to Mode 3
(static IP mode).

Proceed as follows:
1. Enter the IP address from the router administrator page device list to access BACnet MSTP Configuration
page and go to the BACnet Settings page.
2. Switch your Surface Mount back to Mode 2 (DHCP mode).
3. Select MS/TP and disable cloud connectivity.
4. Click Save & Apply.

Using terminals A+ and B-, connect the in-wall mounts to the BACnet router (or other BACnet devices) in a
daisy chain topology. Ensure that the power is shut off during wiring.

1) Foil + Braid is recommended for harsh environment (mechanical and electromagnetic interference, e.g.
variable speed drives).
2) 2-pair cable to be used with care because of different color scheme.
The two conductors of the second pair must be wired in parallel to the reference terminal to prevent a floating
conductor.

Proceed as follows:
●Install the Hub in a central location (best possible reception).
●If the quality of the LoRa signal is sufficient: Keep the original antenna on the hub. You can check signal
quality from the LoRaWAN using:
–a field tester
–the User Console (Software version is 5.6.2 or later.). Once the Hub and the LoRaWAN device are
paired, you can verify the signal quality.
●Where signal strength is too weak: remove the original antenna out of the cabinet; use an RF extension cord
with a SMA connector up to 2 meters + 1 adhesive support to hold the antenna.
●Where signal strength is still too weak: use a high-gain antenna with a maximum 10-meter cable; this
antenna can, be used outside or on other floors to obtain the best signal quality.
Proceed as follows for each sensor:
1. Log in to user console (available at console) and go to Equipment.
2. Add multi-sensors by searching Siemens - IAQ-Multi-sensor from equipment list.

4. Power on sensor and wait for connection.
