Introduction
The TASS trailing arm speed sensor is a compact, low-profile, wheel-driven return belt
speed sensor. The TASS has a sensor wheel and trailing arm assembly that rides along
the return belt. The sensor wheel rotates on a shaft fixed to the trailing arm. The internal
proximity switch detects rotation of the wheel, generating a signal proportional to belt
speed. The output signal is transmitted via cable connection to the integrator to
determine the rate of conveyed material.

Mounting Bracket
Interconnection
Ensure that there is sufficient slack in the cabling to allow the TASS arm to pivot freely so
the wheel rides on the belt. Restriction of the arm can cause slippage or excessive
contact between the belt and the wheel.
Connection
Note: All wiring must be done in conjunction with approved conduit, boxes, and
fittings and to procedures in accordance with all governing regulations.

Mounting
The TASS speed sensor attaches to the static beam of the associated belt scale, or to a
structural cross member via a pivot and bracket assembly.
Do not allow the slope of the TASS arm to exceed 45° below the belt stringer line.
Location
Locate the TASS near the scale assembly to simplify wiring. The wheel should ride on the
return belt, either just before or just after a return belt idler.
Note: Ensure that the wheel is in contact with the belt at all times.

Milltronics TASS Geschwindigkeitssensor
Der Milltronics TASS ist ein kompakter Geschwindigkeitssensor, der wenig Platz
einnimmt, mit Laufrad zur Montage auf dem Untergurt. Das Rad des TASS Sensors und
der nachlaufende Arm liegen auf dem Untergurt auf. Das Rad dreht sich an einer am
nachlaufenden Arm befestigten Welle. Mit einem internen Näherungsschalter wird die
Drehung des Rads erfasst und ein zur Bandgeschwindigkeit proportionales Signal
erzeugt. Das Ausgangssignal wird über Kabelanschluss an den Messumformer
übertragen; daraus wird die Förderstärke bestimmt.

Anschluss
Die Verkabelung muss genügend Schlupf lassen, damit sich der Arm des TASS frei
drehen kann und das Rad auf dem Gurt aufliegt. Eine Einschränkung des Arms kann zu
Schlupf oder einem zu starken Kontakt zwischen Gurt und Rad führen.

Montage
Der TASS Geschwindigkeitssensor wird über eine schwenkbare Halterung am statischen
Träger der Bandwaage oder einem Querträger befestigt.
Die Neigung des TASS Arms darf nicht mehr betragen als 45° unter dem Strang des
Holms.
Einbauort
Bauen Sie den TASS in der Nähe der Bandwaage ein, um die Verkabelung zu erleichtern.
Das Rad muss auf dem Untergurt aufliegen, entweder kurz vor oder kurz nach einer
Untergurtrolle.
Hinweis: Stellen Sie sicher, dass das Rad ständig Kontakt zum Gurt hat.

Sensor de velocidad Milltronics TASS
El TASS es un sensor de velocidad compacto para bandas de retorno. Está diseñado para
acomodar estructuras estrechas. El brazo del sensor TASS tiene una rueda en contacto
con la banda de retorno. La rueda del sensor gira alrededor de un eje fijo en el brazo. Un
interruptor de proximidad interno detecta la rotación de la rueda y genera una señal
proporcional a la velocidad de la banda. La señal se transmite por cable hasta el
integrador para calcular la velocidad del producto transportado.

Deje suficiente holgura en el cable de conexión para compensar el movimiento del
sensor TASS y la rotación de la rueda en la banda. Limitando el movimiento del brazo se
puede provocar el resbalamiento de la rueda o el contacto excesivo con la banda.

Nota: El cableado debe ser efectuado con conductos, cajas y piezas de conexión
certificados y observando los procedimientos y las disposiciones pertinentes.
