Switching on and off, setting the speed/tem-
perature level
1) Plug the power plug into the mains socket.
2) Slide the level switch 3to switch on the appliance. Choose between the
three levels:
–"I" Low combined speed/temperature level:
Ideal for sensitive or fine hair.
–"II" High combined speed/temperature level:
Ideal for normal hair.
–"C" Gentle combined speed/temperature level "Cool" (cool-shot
function):
Cold level, particularly suitable for final fixing after styling, for
example.
3) The speed/temperature level that the level switch 3points to first is switched
on. Slide the level switch 3to the desired level, feeling it engage when a
new level is reached. The appliance starts heating and air flows out of the
attachment 8–q.
4) Switch off the appliance by moving the level switch 3back to "O". The level
switch 3engages perceptibly when the position "O" is reached and the
level switch 3points to "O".
5) Always unplug the appliance from the mains socket after use.
6) Allow the appliance to cool down before disassembling or storing it. Make
sure that you place the appliance on a heat-resistant surface.
Using attachments
You can dry and style your hair with the attachments 8–q. Wash and condition
your hair as usual beforehand.
A suitable styling product can enhance the durability of the hairstyle. Choose
a product that also contains heat protection if you expose the hair to significant
heat. You can finish the styling with the cold setting "Cool" to fix the hairstyle. If
necessary, use hair spray as well.

■ 8 │ GB│IE SRWB 1000 A1
Attachment Function
The large round brush 8gives the hair more volume and
bounce.
The small round brush 9gives the hair more shape and
curl.
The styling nozzle 0dries the hair and prepares it for
further styling, if desired.
The paddle brush qdries and smooths the hair and
prepares it for further styling, if desired.
Large and small round brush
The large round brush 8gives your hair more volume and is also suitable for
medium to long hair. You can achieve more shape with the small round brush 9.
1) Dry your hair with a towel and brush it through. Use the styling nozzle 0or
the paddle brush quntil the hair is almost dry. If necessary, divide the hair
into several sections and isolate a single strand.
Note: Style your hair with the round brush 8/9only when it is almost dry.
Make sure that it is free of knots. These can cause hair to get caught in the
bristles, especially with longer hair.
2) Select the desired round brush 8/9and attach it to appliance.
3) Plug the power plug into the mains socket.
4) Set the speed/temperature level "I" or "II" according to your hair type.
5) Press and hold the rotation button 2/7so that the round brush 8/
9starts to rotate. Use the round brush 8/9at the ends of the hair, distrib-
uting the strand along the length of the round brush 8/9(see Fig. 1). The
twisting movement coils the strand. Release the rotation button 2/7
before the hairline is reached. The brush stops rotating.

GB│IE │ 9 ■
SRWB 1000 A1
Fig. 1 Fig. 2
6) Hold the brush in the coiled hair for a few seconds. The duration affects
the strength of the styling effect. Other factors must be taken into account,
such as the thickness of the coiled strand, the hair texture or the set speed/
temperature level. Start with a short duration and increase if necessary until
the desired styling effect is achieved or the hair is completely dry. Note,
however, that hair can be damaged if exposed to high heat for excessive
periods of time.
7) To uncoil the strand again, press the opposite rotation button 2/7.
At the same time, gently pull the appliance downwards to release the round
brush 8/9from the strand.
CAUTION! If hair is caught in the bristles of the round brush 8/9, imme-
diately release the rotation button 2/7. Make sure that you slide the
level switch 3back to the position "0". Then carefully remove the hairs from
the bristles, e.g. with your fingers.
The coating of the round brush 8/9can become very hot during
operation. Therefore, only hold the round brush 8/9by the plastic ends
and hold the appliance by the handle.
Note: Start with the lower strands of hair and then style strand by strand
until the desired result is achieved.
Counteract the twisting movement a little and bring slight tension into the
strand by pulling the round brush 8/9very slightly downwards. This
requires some practice. Immediately release the rotation button 2/7
if the round brush 8/9rotates too fast and always before it reaches the
hairline.
You can also achieve more fullness at the hairline by simply holding the
round brush 8/9for a few seconds just below the strand at the hairline
(see Fig. 2). Do this without the rotation function, otherwise the hair will get
caught in the bristles!
8) Switch off the appliance by moving the level switch 3back to "O".

■ 10 │ GB│IE SRWB 1000 A1
Styling nozzle
You can dry your hair with the styling nozzle 0to prepare it for further styling,
e.g. with the round brush 8/9.
1) Attach the styling nozzle 0to the appliance.
2) Plug the power plug into the mains socket.
3) Set the speed/temperature level "I" or "II" according to your hair type.
4) Aim the airflow at the hair and move the appliance around the head with
one hand. Run your free hand through your hair and divide it into strands.
This makes it easier to dry the parts underneath.
5) Switch off the appliance by moving the level switch 3back to "O".
Paddle brush
With the paddle brush q, you can dry and straighten your hair at the same time.
1) Attach the paddle brush qto the appliance.
2) Plug the power plug into the mains socket.
3) Set the speed/temperature level "I" or "II" according to your hair type.
4) Place the paddle brush qat the roots and pull it down to the ends of the
hair, as with a conventional brush.
Note: You can achieve more volume by brushing the hair upside down
afterwards.
5) Switch off the appliance by moving the level switch 3back to "O".
Cleaning
DANGER! Risk of fatal injury from electrocution! Before cleaning the
appliance, disconnect the power plug from the mains power socket!
Never immerse the appliance, the mains cable or the plug in water or any
other liquids!
After cleaning, ensure that the appliance is completely dry before using it
again!
CAUTION! Allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning it. Risk of
burns!
ATTENTION! Do not use abrasive or caustic cleaning agents. They can
corrode the surface and damage the appliance beyond repair.
■ Remove hair from the attachments 8–qwith your fingers. Place the
attachments 8–qin lukewarm water to clean them. You can use mild
detergents, but make sure to rinse it off thoroughly afterwards with water.
Allow the attachments 8–qto dry completely before re-attaching them to
the appliance.

■ Make sure that the air intake grille 4is free of hair and fluff. Clean it with
the help of a dry brush.
■ Clean the filter behind the air intake grille 4at regular intervals, at the latest
when dirt is visible. To do this, remove the air intake grille 4(see figs. 3 and
4) by turning it until it stops moving and then pulling it down (if necessary,
turn it slightly back and forth at the same time). Remove lint and dirt from the
filter with your fingers and a soft brush if necessary. Press the filter back into
the basket of the air intake grille 4so that you can then put the air intake
grille 4back on. Slide the air intake grille 4onto the receptacle on the
appliance and screw it tight. Note the two small recesses on the base of the
power cable 6(see fig. 4), into which the matching counterparts on the
inside of the opening in the air intake grille 4must be pushed.
Fig. 3 Fig. 4
