Introduction
Information for these operating instructions
These operating instructions are a component of the Electric Corkscrew SKE 3.6
A1 (henceforth designated as the appliance) and they provide you with important
information about the intended use, safety and operation of the appliance..
These operating instructions must be constantly kept available close to the ap-
pliance. They are to be read and applied by everyone assigned to operate the
appliance.
Keep these operating instructions and hand them over with the appliance to any
future owners.

Intended use
This corkscrew is intended exclusively for the uncorking of standard bottles of
wine.
This corkscrew is not suitable for removing/opening other types of closures on
bottles, such as crown caps or screw caps.
It is intended for use in private households only. Do not use it commercially.
This appliance is not intended for any other use or for uses beyond those men-
tioned.
WARNING
Risk from unintended use!
Risk can come from the appliance if used for unintended purposes and/or
other types of use.
Use the appliance exclusively for intended purposes.

Claims of any kind for damage resulting from unintended use will not be excepted.
The operator alone bears liability.
Safety instructions
For safe handling of the appliance observe the following safety information:
WARNING - RISK OF INJURY!
Before use, check the appliance for signs of external damage. Do not put into

operation an appliance that is damaged or has been dropped.
This appliance is not intended for use by individuals (including children) with
■
restricted physical, physiological or intellectual abilities or deficiences in expe-
rience and/or knowledge unless they are supervised by a person responsible
for their safety or receive from this person instruction in how the appliance is
to be used.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appli-

ance.
Repairs should only be carried out by authorized specialist companies or by
■
our Customer Service department. Incompetent repairs can result in significant
risks for the user. In addition, warranty claims become void.
NEVER submerse the appliance in water or other liquids. Risk of electric

shock!
NEVER grasp the appliance with wet or moist hands. There is a risk of receiving
■
an electric shock!
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you continue to use the charger if
■
damage to it is visible.

Do not set the corkscrew and the charger up in damp environments. If you do,■
moisture could penetrate into the corkscrew or the charger. There will then be
a risk of electric shock!
Do not place the corkscrew or the charger in the immediate vicinity of water,
■
e.g. by bathtubs or swimming pools. Ensure that no liquids can permeate into
the corkscrew/the charger when it is in use. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES
should you clean the corkscrew and charger by placing them in, or holding
them under, water! If you do, there is the risk of receiving an electric shock!
To charge the corkscrew, use only the supplied charger station with the sup-
■
plied charge supply device. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you use
the charger to charge other appliances. Otherwise, the corkscrew, the charger
and its charge supply device plus the appliance being charged could be dam-
aged beyond repair. There would then be the danger of receiving an electric
shock and/or causing a fire!
Connect the appliance only to correctly installed and earthed mains power
■
sockets. Otherwise, there is the great risk of receiving an electric shock.
Do not place the corkscrew and the charging station at locations which are
■
exposed to direct solar radiation. Doing so may cause the corkscrew or the
charging station to overheat and become irreparably damaged. There is also
the risk of fire!
Do not place the corkscrew and the charger in the immediate vicinity of sources
■
of heat. This includes ovens, heating fans and similar appliances as well as
ventilation openings of other electronic appliances. Do not place open flame
sources - such as burning candles - in the immediate vicinity of the corkscrew
and charger. Doing so may cause the corkscrew or the charging station to
become irreparably damaged. There is also the risk of fire!

Disposal of the packaging
The packaging protects the appliance from transport damage. The packaging
materials are selected from the point of view of their environmental friendliness
and disposal technology and are therefore recyclable.
The recirculation of packaging into the material circuit saves on raw material and
reduces generated waste. Dispose of packaging material that is no longer needed
according to the regionally established regulations.
NOTICE
If possible preserve the appliance's original packaging during the warranty►
period so that in the case of a warranty claim you can package the appli-
ance properly for return.

Commissioning
Take the corkscrew, the charging station1) 8, the cap cutter 7and the charge
supply device 6out of the carton and remove all packaging material.
Place the cap cutter2) 7into the storage compartment 9under the charging
station 8.
Connect the charge supply device3) 6to the charging station 8by inserting
the barrel plug 4into the socket on the rear of the charging station 8.
Place the charging station4) 8on a level, scratch-resistant and slip-free sur-
face.
WARNING - RISK OF INJURY!
Do not set the the corkscrew and the charger 8up in damp environments.
If you do, moisture could penetrate into the corkscrew or the charger 8.
There will then be a risk of electric shock!
Insert the charge supply device5) 6to the charging station 8into a mains
power socket.
The corkscrew contains batteries that have to be recharged via the charger6) 8.
Therefore, the corkscrew itself requires no power cable. To charge the cork-
screw, place it in the charger 8.
NOTICE
When inserting the corkscrew into the charging station► 8, it must ...
have its opening facing down,
–
have the arrow on the corkscrew pointing to the–
marker line on the charging station 8.
When the corkscrew is properly inserted in the charger
► 8, the LED
"Charging" 5glows. Thereby it is indicated that the corkscrew is inserted
correctly and it is now being charged.
Let the corkscrew stand for the 10 hours before using it, so that it becomes fully7)
charged. After this period, the corkscrew is ready for use.

Take the foil cutter1) 7from its storage compartment 9under the charging
station 8.
To cut open the foil seal over the cork: Place the foil cutter2) 7as shown in Fig.
1 on the closed bottle of wine. Press it firmly together with your thumb and forefin-
ger. Firmly take hold of the bottle with one hand so that it cannot fall over.

Turn the bottle of wine through 360 degrees. You may have to repeat this sev-3)
eral times before you can remove the capsule of the film collar.
Replace the foil cutter4) 7back into its storage compartment 9.
Firmly take hold of the bottle with one hand so that it cannot fall over. Place5)
the corkscrew on the wine bottle cork. Press it firmly until the spiral penetrates
perceptibly into the cork.
Press and hold the lower button6) ▼ 2. The LEDs "In Operation" 3glow. The
spiral is screwed into the cork and then pulls it out of the bottle neck. Continue
to keep the wine bottle and the corkscrew gripped firmly while doing this.
First release the lower button7) ▼ 2when the cork has been completely re-
moved from the bottle neck.
WARNING - RISK OF INJURY
Ensure that no liquids can permeate into the corkscrew/the charger 8when it
is in use. Otherwise, there is the risk of receiving an electric shock!

Take the corkscrew from the bottle and hold it with the opening down.8) Then
press and hold the upper button ▲ 1. The LEDs "In Operation" 3glow. The
cork is then unscrewed from inside the corkscrew.
Release the upper button9) ▲ 1as soon as the cork falls off of the corkscrew.
After use: Place the corkscrew back into the charger10) 8so that it cannot fall
over/fall down.
If you do not have to charge the corkscrew: Disconnect the charge supply de-11)
vice 6to the charging station 8from the mains power socket.
Charging
When the performance of the corkscrew becomes weaker after repeated use,1)
it must be recharged. Place the corkscrew in to the charging station 8.
When the corkscrew is properly inserted in the charger2) 8, the LED "Charg-
ing" 5glows. Thereby it is indicated that the corkscrew is inserted correctly
and it is now being charged. Leave the corkscrew in the charger 8for 8-10
hours. This is dependant on how high/low the battery was charged at the
beginning of charging procedure. After this period, the corkscrew is again
ready for use.
WARNING - RISK OF INJURY
To charge the corkscrew, use only the supplied charger station 8with the
supplied power supply device 6. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should
you use the charging station 8to charge other appliances. If you do, the
corkscrew, the charging station 8, the charge supply device 6and the appli-
ance being charged could be damaged beyond repair. There would then be
the danger of receiving an electric shock and/or causing a fire!

Cleaning and Care
WARNING - RISK OF INJURY
UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES should you clean the corkscrew and
charger 8by placing them in, or holding them under, water! Otherwise,
there is the risk of receiving an electric shock!
Clean the housing of the corkscrew and charger
■ 8, as well as the foil cutter 7,
only with a slightly moist cloth. In case of stubborn stains, pour a few drops of
a mild detergent on the damp cloth. Ensure that no liquids can permeate into
the corkscrew/the charger 8when it is being cleaned!
TROUBLESHOOTING
Corkscrew does not function
Probably, the corkscrew needs to be recharged. Place the corkscrew in to the■
charging station 8. This is explained in the section "Charging".
Corkscrew does not function despite charging
Check that you have positioned the corkscrew correctly in the charger■ 8.
When the corkscrew is correctly positioned in the charger 8, the blue LED
"Charging" 5glows.
If the malfunctioning continues:
■
Check that the charge supply device– 6to the charging station 8is
correctly inserted in the mains power socket.
Check that the mains power socket in which the power adapter
– 6for
the charging station 8is inserted is supplying power. Connect a known
working appliance to the power socket.
Check that the barrel plug– 4is correctly inserted into the socket of the
charging station 8.
Other malfunctions
If you cannot eliminate the malfunction with the aforementioned methods, or■
any other problems arise with your electric corkscrew, please contact our Serv-
ice Partner in your locality.

Disposal
Disposal of the appliance
Do not dispose of the appliance in your normal domestic waste.
This product is subject to the European directive 2002/96/EC-
WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).
Dispose of the appliance through an approved disposal centre or at your commu-
nity waste facility. Observe the currently applicable regulations. In case of doubt,
please contact your waste disposal centre.
Disposal of batteries
Remove the built-in battery only if you want to dispose of the appliance. The re-
moval of the battery destroys the appliance!
Used batteries may not be disposed of in household waste. All consumers are
statutorily obliged to dispose of batteries at a collection site in their community
/ city district or at a retail store. The purpose of this obligation is to ensure that
batteries are disposed of in a non-polluting manner. Remove the battery from the
appliance.
Only dispose of batteries when they are fully discharged.
Warranty and Service
This appliance is guaranteed for 3 years from the date of purchase. This appliance
has been manufactured with care and meticulously examined before delivery.
Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase. In the case of a warranty claim,
please make contact by telephone with our service department. Only in this way
can a post-free despatch for your goods be assured.
The warranty is valid only for material or manufacturing defects not, however, for
transport damage, wear and tear or for damage to breakable parts, i.e. switches
or rechargeable batteries. This product is for private use only and is not intended
for commercial applications.
In the event of misuse and improper handling, use of force and interference not
carried out by our authorized service branch, the warranty will become void.. Your
statutory rights are not restricted in any way by this warranty.
The warranty period will not be extended as a result of repairs made under war-
ranty. This applies also to replacement and repaired parts. Damages and defects
potentially present at the time of purchase must be reported immediately after un-
packing or, at the very least, two days after the date of purchase. Repairs carried
out after expiry of the warranty period are subject to payment.

Johdanto
Tietoja tästä käyttöohjeesta
Tämä käyttöohje on osa viinipullonavaajaa SKE 3.6 A1 (jäljessä laite) ja antaa
tärkeitä tietoja laitteen tarkoituksenmukaisesta käytöstä, turvallisuudesta SKEä lait-
teen käsittelystä.
Käyttöohjeen on oltava jatkuvasti käsillä laitteen lähellä. Jokaisen laitteen käyttöön
valtuutetun henkilön on luettava se ja noudatettava sitä.
Säilytä tämä käyttöohje ja luovuta se seuraavalle omistajalle laitteen mukana.

Määräystenmukainen käyttö
Viinipullonavaaja on tarkoitettu ainoastaan tavallisten viinipullojen korkkien avaa-
miseen.
Viinipullonavaaja ei sovellu muiden pullonsulkijoiden kuten esim. kruunukorkkien
tai kierrekorkkien irrottamiseen/avaamiseen.
Se on tarkoitettu käytettäväksi ainoastaan yksityistalouksissa. Älä käytä sitä am-
mattitarkoituksiin.
Muu tai tämän ylittävä käyttö katsotaan määräystenvastaiSKEsi.
VAROITUS
Määräystenvastaisen käytön aiheuttama vaara!
Laite voi aiheuttaa vaaroja määräystenvastaisessa ja/tai toisenlaisessa
käytössä.
Käytä laitetta ainoastaan määräystenmukaisesti.
